New York Cabin Rental Photos and Description

3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Sleeps 10-12

This newer log home sits on nearly an acre of property on Sleepy Hollow Lake and is one of the most private homes on the lake. Situated on a wooded peninsula with a private dock, this home sleeps 10 comfortably but has room for more!

An upscale kitchen with subzero refrigerator and granite counter tops opens into a a vaulted family room with a large fireplace. Two bedrooms and one bath are situated on the main floor with a large master bedroom off of the loft on the second floor. The covered porch is perfect for having a drink or waiting out a summer shower.

If swimming off of the dock or private beach isn't for you, go to one of the two community pools nearby. One a short walk from the cabin! Or choose from basketball, tennis, or other activities within the sleepy hollow lake community!

Such a happy, fun, relaxing place!

  • 5 of 5

My family was delighted with our stay at Chris's beautiful cabin on Sleepy Hollow Lake. It was just as the pictures indicated, with the warm, welcoming interior and pretty views from the porch. My family of 7 adults was able to spread out comfortably for sleeping, and by day, we could play games at the table, do a jigsaw, cook, and watch TV all nearby each other. We ate dinner out on the porch when the evenings were fine, and turned on the air conditioning for the evening that was muggy. The canoes and kayaks were fun to use. We paddled north, upstream, under the bridge and back for a two-hour adventure. We also took a hike to Kaaterskill Falls which is a half hour drive away and very pretty, though busy on a Saturday. The one drawback of our stay was the that lake was too shallow and murky to swim in near the dock, but we paddled over to the pool and used Chris's passes for a nice swim there. We have such happy memories, and I'm so glad we stayed at this cabin. I would recommend it to friends, definitely.

Beautiful and relaxing!

  • 5 of 5

The house was great! Set back from the road and screened in by the surrounding trees, it felt very peaceful and private. The view of the lake was beautiful, particularly in the evening, and the large deck was perfect for lounging outside. The house comes equipped with a number of boats and paddles, as well as board games for rainy days. We were a group of 8, and the house easily could have accommodated a few more.

Christmas Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a week during Christmas and hosted some friends and family. There is plenty of room to sleep up to 12, as advertised. The location was right on the lake, with great views, and it was very private. The great room layout was great, and the stone fireplace was a treat. Chris was nice enough to allow us to put up a Christmas tree, and decorate. When I showed photos to family and friends they were very impressed; often stating that it was the "perfect" Christmas log cabin getaway. Chris was very responsive with any questions we had. There is a Stewarts close by for essential groceries, but if you need to do a full shopping trip its about 20 minutes away to a full sized grocery store- just something to keep in mind, but we didn't find it to be a problem. Windham is about 30 minutes away, but unfortunately we didn't get there due to the record heat! We did get a bit of snow our last day, and it was just enough to do some sledding in the yard. The passes for amenities were left out for us, but we didn't make use of them this time. I would certainly recommend this home, and hope I can make a trip back again.

Relaxing, peaceful escape

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I enjoyed the cabin so much. It was beautifully situated with plenty of sunshine in the morning and a view of the lake from essentially every vantage point. The cabin had mostly everything we needed for a comfortable weekend and the indoor fireplace was an added bonus. Chris was easily reached when we had any questions. We would recommend this to anyone looking for a reprieve from their daily routines and we hope to visit again, hopefully in warmer weather this time.

Perfect Fall Getaway

  • 4 of 5

This space was the perfect fall getaway! I stayed for a weekend with a few friends and everything was exactly as published in the description and in the reviews. The house had everything we needed and more! The location is beautiful, right on the lake. We felt secluded enough without feeling isolated, and enjoyed having the privacy of the woods while still feeling connected to a community.

There were six of us total, and we had more than enough space. We mainly stayed in the house, so we didn't explore the community amenities, but there were passes left accessible for us so that we could enjoy them if we wanted. Indoor and outdoor fireplaces were perfect for the cold nights and there is a Stewarts located very close to the house should you need to purchase more firewood and/or any food/necessities for your stay. We also ate out in town one night at the Crossroads Brewery - great food, great beers. Definitely recommended.

Chris was easy to communicate with and we're very grateful for the opportunity to have been able to stay in his cabin!
