Sherri and Doug live in Ocala, a short 45-minute drive to Crystal River. 'We really enjoy the small-town feeling in Crystal River and the natural setting along the beautiful Gulf Coast. Crystal River has the very unique combination of the fresh water bay and springs and the Gulf of Mexico just a short distance away. The Chart House is perfectly situated halfway between the two. You won't find any high-rise condos here in one of the last remaining natural areas of Florida. Yet Crystal River offers all the modern conveniences of shopping, restaurants, supermarkets, movie theatres, a mall, unique shops in the historic district, and more. It has it all.'
The Owner purchased this house in 2008
We chose Crystal River because we loved coming here for many years before we could get our own place. It is always a thrill to watch the manatees, dolphins, pelicans, and eagles no matter how many times we have seen them. There is nothing to compare to the fishing and boating in the area, and in the summer, it is one of the last places in Florida where you can catch live scallops. We hope you enjoy the 'Nature Coast' area as much as we do.
Sherri and I have stayed in many fine hotels and luxury vacation rentals over the years. At one point, we started to make a list of our likes and dislikes. We created the Chart House with those ideas in mind. For example, we furnished the house quality beds, mattresses, sheets, comforters, and furniture. The kitchen is equipped with all the items you would find in your own kitchen, including quality knives, flatware, appliances, plates, wine glasses, napkins, towels, pots and pans, soap, detergent, and spices — everything you would need. There is a washer and dryer, irons, an ironing board, and bathroom supplies if you forget something. We do not want you running to the store; we want you to enjoy yourselves and come back for many years. There are also decks, gas grills, flat-screen televisions, cable, Wi-Fi, free long distance phone calls, gas cookers, a fire pit, lighting, free kayaks to use, and outdoor seating. We have a maintenance team that keeps everything in tip top shape all year long. There is parking for several cars and at least 2 to 3 boat trailers. The backyard is fenced for the safety of your children and dogs. The porches and deck areas are screened with a special fine mesh to keep even the smallest bug out. We pride ourselves in taking care of the tiniest detail and personally inspect the home frequently. You can reach Crystal, our property manager, at 352-622-1825 and she will assist you in any way possible.
We bought this rental in an auction and did not know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised at the beautiful house and view. Even the fresh cut flowers on the table! The air conditioner went out but was fixed very quickly. We will definitely be back to the “Bimini”!
My wife and 3 (college age) kids stayed for an exteneded weekend the last weekend of scallop season and had a fantastic time. The place was better than the pictures. Absolutely Great. Very clean, nicely furnished, comfrotable beds, and everything you need to make yourself at home. We brought our own 22' boat and plenty of parking for vehicle and trailer and very nice dock to use. Everything was very nice. We like to get up to Crystal River at least once a year (we don't always make it...) but next time we'll certainly be checking availability with this property first.
My long time friends and I used this home as a bit of a 'Reunion' location. We could not have been more pleased with our stay. The home is meticulously well kept, and exquisite in the value you get for a vacation home. The location is great, the home is clean, and there are several great features. We will probably be making this an annual trip, and will definitely be coming back!
We've been coming to The Chart House for the last three years for our annual scalloping getaway and I must say it is our home away from home. We love the spacious rooms, hanging out in the family room watching TV, and playing games. The backyard is absolutely lovely. Grilling out back and sitting out by the docks is one of the things I look forward to every year. We've seen a few dolphins swim by...it's amazing. The ability to bring our boats and dock them at the house is a plus for our scalloping excursions. Can't wait till next year's outing. As long as The Chart House is here, we will continue to come every year!
We rented this wonderful house over Memorial Day Weekend 2012, both the upstairs & downstairs. The house far exceeded our expectations. The location, furnishing, decor, etc. made us feel like we were in our own home rather than a rental property. The listing description is very accurate, the house is well kept & clean. Access to the river via boat from the house is very easy. We highly recommend the Chart House and look forward to staying there again someday.
This was a good VRBO experience, and we've had several. The pictures and list of ammenities are accurate. We stayed upstairs and friends downstairs, so we had the benefit of the whole house, yard, and docks to ourselves. Close quarters if non-travel companions were in one of the units, which happened on our last day there. This is a neighborhood, which is hard to envision via photos on-line, and they are close, but not instrusive in any way, other than hearing their conversations when outside. Everything very close-by. K-Mart, Publix, Manatee diving groups, other springs, fishing oppportunities. Our children fished day and night from the docks at the house, caught a variety of fish. Can't swim in the canal, in case you are thinking you can. Overall, a spacious, comfortable, reasonable VRBO listing.
Each year our family comes from different parts of the world to spend a week together at or close to Christmas. Since the family consists of divers and animal lovers we decided on your area and wow that was a great decision. The house is beautiful, it has everything needed with the exception of food , although there was fresh fruit available. How nice is that. The back yard is wonderfully decorated and most welcoming. The fire pit is great for late night get togethers. We are thankful for you offering your home to us for rental and hope you continue to do so. We rented the upstairs and the downstairs, they are both most wonderful. Very clean, very comfortable, well decorated, warm feeling. Felt like coming home. Would recommend this home many times. Easy access to shops, restaurants, activities, parks, water, etc. The kayaks and the paddle boat were a wonderful addition.
