Beautiful, spacious, 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, family home in the Berkshires located on a private road on crystal clear Richmond Pond with private dock for swimming and boating. Our home in the Berkshires is comfortable and clean with hardwood floors, skylights, spacious closets, and wood paneling. It has been newly renovated, with a new dishwasher, new refrigerator, new stove, energy efficient washer and dryer, and lush landscaping. There are many books, games, a fully equipped kitchen with a table and six chairs plus additional dining room table which seats up to 10. We provide clean linens, a rowboat, a paddleboat, life preservers, and many water toys. The house sleeps 7 people in comfortable bedrooms. There is a large wooden deck with a table, umbrella, and chairs, and a second shower in an adjacent building with plenty of hot water. No smoking. Good quality Time Warner Wireless Internet is provided, plus cable TV (flat screen), DVD and VCR. (Note that Time Warner Wireless was installed in 2016 so earlier reviews do not list it.) Fishing is excellent in Richmond Pond; it is stocked with a variety of perch, pumpkinseed, bream, bluegill, rock bass, bullhead, brook trout, brown trout, crappie, largemouth bass and pickerel . It is a 15 minute drive to Tanglewood (summer home of the Boston Symphony); also close to Berkshire Theatre Festival, Stockbridge; Barrington Stage, Pittsfield; Lenox; Great Barrington; Jacob’s Pillow; and Williamstown. Albany airport is 1 hour away. Hiking, biking, and water skiing are all available.

My sister and I have spent summers here for 30 years. We have collected folk art from around the world.
Carol Silverman purchased this house in 1980
The location is secluded and relaxing, and there is a good combination of outdoor activities and cultural stimulation. Shopping is convenient.
Great place to relax. Neighbors are quiet and helpful. We will gladly tell you about our favorite theaters and restaurants.
We are a professional couple and were looking for a place outside of NYC to get away during the weekends (summer 2016.) This was a very good choice for us. The lake and private dock are exactly as shown in the photos. Spectacular, serene and unspoiled. The lake is clear and lovely for swimming - many are not because of too many motor boats and overgrowth of invasive weeds. We enjoyed watching the migratory birds and relaxing on the dock with endless magical sunsets. The house and property are generally very quiet. With excellent high speed internet we were able to get away from NYC but still stay connected to work -- which was necessary for us.
We attended concerts at Tanglewood -- it is a very short drive and it's easy to get lawn tickets. We found many good places to purchase food and wine. We hiked the nearby trails which were never crowded and so well maintained.
The owner could not have been more responsive. Very easy to deal with anytime we had a question.
The house is rustic, with well equipped kitchen and both gas and charcoal grills. We really enjoyed our stay.
My college roommates & I get together 1x/year & this year we wanted to stay near the Clark Art Institute. This house was perfect for our get together! Carol was easy to work with & very responsive to emails. Mid October is a wonderful time to visit the Berkshires - the colors were amazing! A bit too cold to enjoy the water but the scenery from the dock was lovely. The house was cozy, warm, spacious, very comfortable & very clean. The living room with the glass walls was lovely & we enjoyed feeling like we were surrounded by nature. Although, the house isn't lake front - you could see a bit a of the lake from the living room. We enjoyed using the well equipped kitchen & sleeping on such comfortable beds. Many wonderful towns/activities were close by. Not having WiFi made it a little more challenging to make plans but we managed to figure out where we wanted to go without it:)! Would definitely stay here again!
We rented this home for 4 nights and everything was as described. Communication with the owner was efficient and prompt. While we really used the property as a place to sleep, there were ample facilities and equipment for meal preparation and family dinners. Richmond Pond was simply gorgeous with fall colors. Outside shower room was pretty cool, although we did not use. Cell phone coverage can be spotty there (especially Verizon) and there is no WIFI. If it had WIFI, I would give 5 stars! :-) Very cool artist with an interesting background lives next door..check out his studio if open.
I rented this cottage for a week several years ago (the VRBO calendar provided me with too narrow a time frame) and had a wonderful experience. The home is cozy, clean, and has a cool funky-vibe, with folk art from all over the world decorating the walls. Not only was the house well-equipped with linens, kitchenware and games galore, but it came with a very large washer and dryer. With 3 bedrooms, a full bathroom, a half bath, and an outdoor shower, it allowed me to have guests stay over while still giving me my privacy.
The place is conveniently located to numerous restaurants, performance centers, shops, and stores. But what made this place really special was that, although we had easy access to all the Berkshire cultural and “tourist” venues, the cottage came with its own private dock on a private lake for the times we just wanted to relax by the water.
The house is charming. We had a 5 days of quiet. and relaxing time. The lake is clean and pleasant. The neighborors are nice and we also had the visit of a Black Bear, that was a plus! We found everything we needed to cook simple diners. The barbecue was not as expected but it didn't stop us cooking. My only recommendation would be to change the TV for a bigger screen, maybe better sofa and finally a different barbecue. But then, it would be so perfect we would not move out! If you like simplicity and are looking for a relaxing time on a lake, that's your place.
We rented House on the Pond starting July 15 thru August 15 2015.In a word the house was truly disappointing and was not as advertised.Pictures on the web site lead you to believe that the house is on the pond which is not accurate. The pond is down a path outside the house and about 100 yards away .In no part of the house, can one see the pond. Access to the house is difficult especially when it rains which is often in the Berkshires. The house has no driveway so you have to park across the street and either walk across the lawn or down a sreep sloped gravel path. When one has luggage or heavy grocery bags this is a problem. We expected two full bathrooms---there is one full bath and another half bath upstairs. This is a long time family home which is very evident when you see the collections of family pictures and trinkets. The house has been a repository for not only numerous personal family items but also many vacations trinkets-statues-bowls etc .In the downstairs area there would be as many as thirty to forty such items. Posters are stapled to the walls. Each of the medicine cabinets has old and dried out items which should have been tossed out or stored.Parts of the house are dark and dingy. The master bedroom has a twin bed a single bed,a roll away bed , a bookshelf,a desk a dresser two small night stands a standing lamp, a reading chair a desk and a very large stacked washer dryer --which is over six feet in height!.all the furniture in the house is very worn--a large lamp in the living room has a hole and the picnic table and benches on the front porch has warped wood and is unsafe.Numerous mouse traps can be found in the house. One closet had as many as four traps. We felt like we were living at Goodwill or a second hand store. The house was not clean when we moved in and the dishes and silverware were dirty., we spent a day cleaning before we left and were charged a fee by the owner. We rent in the Berkshires every summer and would NOT stay at this house ever again.
