Aloha and e komo mai (welcome) to Hale Ki’i Maka Manu, the House with the Bird’s eye View.
And that is exactly what you will have from not only the main living level/lanai but from the 3rd floor observation deck as well. From that deck, you can see Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa, the Pu’u O’o volcanic vent at the Volcanoes National Park, the mighty Pacific ocean, gorgeous sunrises, whale watching and so much more! The views are absolutely incredible!
This large and inviting home has 4 bedrooms and 3 baths on 2 separate living levels. Situated on a ½ acre back from the street, this home is private and is landscaped with beautiful blooming tropical plants that Hawaii is certainly known for. Located in the ever popular Hawaiian Paradise Park subdivision at Kaloli Point, this area is known for its sunnier skies and warmer temperatures.
The open and spacious living, dining, kitchen area that opens up to the tiled ocean view lanai is absolutely perfect for the guests that are traveling together. Upstairs are 2 generously sized bedrooms with 2 baths. The master bedroom has its own entrance to the tiled lanai and has a lovely tiled shower for 2. Beautiful stained glass windows adorn the master bath.
The downstairs area with separate entrance has 2 more bedrooms that share 1 bath. Everyone has their own space. How wonderful is that?
And again, that 3rd floor observation deck or “widow’s watch” is pretty incredible! A popular romantic myth holds that the platform was used to observe vessels at sea. The name “widow’s watch” is said to come from the wives of mariners who would watch for their spouses’ return, often in vain as the ocean took the lives of the mariners, leaving the women widows.
Who knows what you’ll see from there? Something pretty special I would imagine! Come stay at Hale Ki’I Maka Manu and take in the views!

There was a lot of space and the accommodations were good. The view and sound of the ocean was absolutely beautiful. It was very enjoyable sitting out on the lanai. All the needed items such as kitchen items, towels, bedding, etc. were well supplied. With that said, I must add the following. I have stayed in 2 other properties of yours and the condition and cleanliness of each rental was always excellent. This one was not. The floors were not swept up well. The metal rack which sits in the sink was very dirty, areas around sink were dirty. The 1st bathroom, down hall had a shower curtain that had mildew on it. There was a lamp in the living room that had no bulb. Just thought you might need to know these things as I have never found such conditions all the other times we have stayed in your rentals, which as I recall was about 5 different times. All in all...we had a wonderful stay! Aloha...
This home was an ideal setting for our joint families, downstairs was perfect for a couple and the upstairs was just right for a family of 4. We had coffee on the deck in the am, and cocktails and bbq in the evenings.
The sounds of nature lull you to sleep in the evenings. Loved shopping at Malama market in Pahoa.
The home is exactly as described. Plenty of room for our family of 5. Loved the "crow's nest", the sound of crashing waves and the ability for the entire family to gather comfortably in the central living area. We ate at Ken's Pancake house almost every morning, but were "home" every night to cook dinner, and just relax. The information book was very helpful in letting us know where the locals hang out as well as wonderful sights for newcomers.
