About Billy or Beth Wilkinson

It has been a 25 dream to share our property with others. All those years ago when we started planting pine trees (near 10,000) on the place we began to have a vision of people coming to share this wonderful place. We dreamed of building cabins for people to come and enjoy the farm and the outdoors. We enjoy the fellowship and friendship. It is our desire to share some of ourselves and for you to share some of yourself with us.

Billy or Beth Wilkinson purchased this cabin in 2007

Why Billy or Beth Wilkinson chose Tennessee

Secluded yet close to Nashville (25 minutes), Bowling Green (25 minutes) and the enormous Mammoth Cave just north of Bowling Green. Driving up HWY 31w is a treat, takes you back in time in places. Thomas Historic Drug with the old soda fountain, barbecue places antique stores nearby and more. Several trips (1-2 hrs away) from here for canoeing on some of Tennessee's most beautiful rivers.

What makes this cabin unique

Peace and tranquility, walking trails, wildlife right out your back door.

Just wonderful! Better than the photos and description

  • 5 of 5

This place was just perfect. In fact the photos don't do it proper justice. Neat as a pin, finished with beautiful oak country pieces , it's about as perfect as can be. We spent the days in Nashville, only 1/2 hr away, and the evenings/mornings in the quiet countryside, sitting on the porch, enjoying coffee and watching the turkeys walk by the pond.

Beth provided everything.... right down to laundry soap! The kitchen was fully stocked with utensils, pots, pans, everything you might need. And everything was so clean! The mattresses were very comfortable, plenty of pillows, blankets etc. lots of DVDs to watch, but also plenty of local channels out of Nashville.

We'll be back.... and THANK YOU!!!!

Owner's Response: Thanks. We hear that a lot "the photos don't do it proper justice.". Course reality is always better than a picture. When we built our first home in 2006 for people to stay on the farm it was always that were were building a home and not just a house. A Pleasure Come back anytime. Billy and Beth

A perfect match for our needs

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for accommodations for at least six in a quiet, off the beaten path rural area, surrounded by but not hemmed in by trees and with trails for our birdwatchers and an open field nearby to watch the 2017 solar eclipse. Dove Cottage met all these criteria. It was clean, well-furnished, and plenty roomy for us five and the dog. Appliances, plumbing, A/C, lights, etc. worked well and appeared to be well maintained and of high quality. Owners were very responsive to questions about the property and about the area., both before and during our stay There are other cottages on the property, and nearby, but not so close that one might feel that one's privacy was being compromised. Local stores and eateries are as close as 2 miles away for food, the only "home thing" not provided in the cottage.

Owner's Response: Guest Bill had a great plan for the 2017 eclipse and we are grateful it worked out so well for you and family. Thank you so much for your respect of the place and for the extra thought for us. Again, thank you, Beth and Billy

Beautiful home in a peaceful location

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I visited from Chicago, looking for a relaxing vacation far away from the city. We found exactly what we were looking for here.

The whole property is picturesque, from the house, to the catfish pond, to the surrounding woods. It was a delight to wake up here each morning.

We visited Nashville over two days, and the drive over was very reasonable at just around 30 minutes.

The owners were very kind. They greeted us when we arrived, and suggested a few local restaurants for us to try, which ended up being delicious.

Overall, we were incredibly satisfied with our stay!

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to review. In today's competitive home markets it will help others find what you have found. It is the culmination of dreams from 30 years ago. We did not create something in the last few years to make money. Ours was a mandate to share our farm and self with others. It works. Thanks Billy and Beth

Candle Light Cabin...Family Retreat!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at "Stay Down on the Farm". The Candle Light Cabin was very clean and very nice. We loved the decor and antiques through out the house and on the farm.

We traveled south from Indiana for a wedding in Nashville with family. My family of 6 stayed in the Candle Light Cabin and more family stayed at the Dove Cottage just down the lane! Coming back to the tranquility of the farm was welcome after each day of wedding festivities or exploring Nashville! When we weren't busy with the wedding or exploring Nashville, we relaxed in the peaceful beauty of the farm, enjoying coffee on the front porch while watching the flora and fauna, or walking on the nature trails. In the evening, the sunsets were beautiful while walking down to the catfish pond or watching the early summer harvest.

We have absolutely no complaints about the property and feel very blessed to have found it! The house had everything we needed from a fully equipped kitchen to a washer/dryer, comfortable beds, towels & linens, movies to watch, etc. The WiFi/internet speed was quite fast and consistent. We didn't even have to bring things for the night we decided to cook supper on the fire in the fire pit! The house had firewood, hot dog sticks, bug spray, and lawn chairs!

We had 4 generations Staying Down on the Farm. Every one of us would agree that it was the perfect place to stay! Beth and Billy were absolutely WONDERFUL to us and we will not hesitate to say here again.

We loved staying down on the farm!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in the doll house, It was a very nice home and had everything you could think of for your stay there, very peaceful and secluded. Bill and Beth were the greatest. If you needed anything they were available for you. Almost felt like you were staying with family. I would recommend their properties to anyone. we did just about everything in Nashville but It was very nice to come home to at the end of the day, instead of a motel room, we will be coming back!

We have provided a quite, peaceful environment for you to be able to relax and enjoy between visits to Nashville and surrounding area. If you have anything else in mind such as bring other people in for partying, drinking, which is disturbing to the peace and tranquility of the farm then please consider another place. You won't like it here cause we don't stand for that since there are other homes on the farm.
