About Julie Schulz

Green Coast Rentals offers some of the most exclusive Luxury Bungalows and Villas in Manuel Antonio. Our vacation rentals in Costa Rica are located in the tropical coastal city of Manuel Antonio. Each of our luxury villas are exceptional, well managed and maintained vacation rentals that offer our guests stunning ocean views and lush tropical jungle views, swimming pools, beach access and more. All of our bungalows and villas are near the ocean, convenient to the famous Manuel Antonio Park and to the town of Quepos, Costa Rica.

Julie Schulz purchased this bungalow in 2006

Why Julie Schulz chose Puntarenas

The bungalows are the most popular places to stay in the entire area. Affordable, family friendly, convenient to everything and each one with a great ocean view. The natural property of the Tulemar Resort has walking trails and you will see the animals native to this mid-Pacific area including monkeys, toucans, sloths and other exotic wildlife. The beach is one of the most spectacular in the world and has recently won the Blue Flag award for the excellent management of it in protecting the environment.

What makes this bungalow unique

The Central Pacific is one of the most beautiful and easily accessible regions in Costa Rica. When staying at one of our vacation rentals, look forward to enjoying everything Manuel Antonio and Quepos have to offer. Sightseers will appreciate the incredible landscapes, amazing beaches, and national parks. Our waters offer nationally renowned surfing, scuba diving and charter fishing. In fact we can even assist you with charter fishing out of the Quepos Marina Pez Vela for a day of tropical sport fishing adventure and memories that will last a lifetime. The ocean along the Central Pacific provides the ultimate setting for everyone in your family or party. So come stay with us for your next vacation in Manual Antonio, Costa Rica.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We loved the Bungalow and the property Tulemar. The staff was excellent, the beach beautiful, and the bungalow very nice. We saw lots of wildlife on the property, more than in the National Park. We plan on going back.

Delightful

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. A lovely way to see an amazing country. Staff were great, accommodations in good condition. Private beach was a real treat. Wildlife everywhere, great views, and in a nice area. Would recommend the rain forest tour with guide for anyone who wants to see the wildlife - you can do it by yourself but you're going to miss 90% of what's lurking right in front of you. Resort has enough recognizable food to keep middle-school children from starving, but plenty of great native food in the immediate vicinity also. We felt pampered and relaxed the whole time.

Owner's Response: Thank you, Jeremy. We are so happy that you enjoyed the Bungalow and the Tulemar Resort. Did you have a chance to try the kayaks or boogie boards at the beach? This is a great amenity of the resort, so we hope you took advantage of it! If you are planning a return trip, remember that we have villas that will accommodate up to 12 people and depending on what villa you choose, include ocean views, private pools, terraces, and even an outdoor gourmet kitchen and entertainment bar in one of them! We hope to have you back soon. Pura Vida.

Excellent

We stayed in bungalow 111 which is steps from the main restaurant/bar/pool, a short climb down/up from the family or adult pool. Once you check out the south and north beach trails by taking a hike for the views, the shuttle to and from the excellent private beach (Press 1 for Beach Attendant, Press 2 for Beverage Service) is quite welcome. The hills are steep. The resort grounds are their own nature preserve (howler, squirrel and capuchin monkeys, sloths, iguanas, geckos, macaws and too many birds to list). There is a troop of capuchins which run morning security checking all windows and doors for a quick snack. You can watch them settle for the local mangos and assorted plants right next to a pool or walkway.

Frank arranged great tours for activities. Mike's guided tour of Manuel Antonio was amazing. He pointed out more details than we would have been able to have seen on our own. The views through his spotting scope were fantastic and provided some amazing photos. Pablo and his crazy skipper provided an unforgettable cruise through the mangroves with very upclose and personal interaction with the wildlife. Quepos is a quick ride on the local bus service (just remember to tell the driver to drop you off or you are along for the ride all the way to Manuel Antonio).

An amazing stay and trip.

Tulemar is stunning. The bungalows adequately outfitted for eating in if you want. You have to know your way around toaster ovens and hot plates, but all worked out just fine. Beds were comfortable enough, but the sofa in the living area needs some support. My husband who recovering from a broken back could not find a comfortable seat in the suite for catching up on email and such, so something to keep in mind. Very clean. Loved the daily monkey happy hour. Beach was fantastic, although I did not enjoy the jelly fish attack. It would have been nice to post warning signs. Six months later the scars are still evident. Nasty. The option of catching the courtesy vehicle was a nice touch. Staff extremely friendly, and accommodating. Frank although quiet was courteous and on time. I would recommend the Sloth walk and visitors to donate to the Sloth Institute as they are doing very important work with these intriguing creatures. Thanks Julie for looking after our super vacation, and making our schedule work. We did not mind at all about having to move mid week. You were right about the 2 different view points, so we fell lucky about that, especially since one morning our wake up call were a pair of amazing Toucans perched right outside of our bedroom window giving us a private show.

Owner's Response: We, too, consider this gorgeous area "Paradise" and are so glad you had a great visit. It is in our plans to replace the day bed with something a little more comfortable; we welcome you back any time and once again, you'll never want to leave! You didn't tell us though, which is your favorite bungalow. We'll do what we can to keep the amazing toucans and monkeys around, no matter which bungalow you stay in.

Wish we were still there.

My family of four (kids 14 and 12) loved every minute of our 3 night stay at Tulemar in bungalow 111. The views from the bungalow were beyond our expectations, including the ocean view. As an independent traveler I didn't have the need for the concierge services, but Frank was great with all the inquires I had prior to my trip (same goes for Julie). The private beach was fantastic as was the pool and restaurant. Out of 4 hotels in Costa Rica, this was my families favorite, if you're planning on visiting the Manuel Antonio area, I highly, highly recommended staying here.

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

The lush grounds, great accommodations and excellent customer service made our third trip to CR most enjoyable. Be sure to take the Eco tour with Roger, it was fabulous without even leaving the resort! The efficient property shuttle vans were easy and frequent. You are on a mountainside. The paved roads are STEEP and winding.

Fabulous!

  • 5 of 5

We loved everything about Tulemar and Costa Rica! First and foremost the beauty of the property, the abundant wildlife and its location. The staff was equally impressive. Frank our concierge made a special birthday even more special by decorating our room and delivery one of the best chocolate cakes we have ever eaten. Frank also arranged for Marvin to pick us up at the airport which made our ride to the resort very pleasant. The staff at the restaurant, front desk and the shuttle drivers where all so wonderful. We had a great time and will definitely be going back some day.
