Must love animals! Our new second story cabin stands alone with friendly horses, ducks and chickens all roaming the 3 acre property. Guesthouses in JH are limited to 1000sf, and we have made good use of every bit of ours! The stairs and oversized deck to the cabin lie on the north side, or pond side of the cabin, facing the incredible Grand Tetons. Enter into the great room with kitchen, dining and living areas, hickory wood floors and knotty alder ceilings. The kitchen window also faces north towards the Tetons so washing dishes will never be a chore!
The kitchen is fully stocked with granite tile counters, side by side refrigerator, microwave and a butcher block island. The dishwasher and cook top / convection self-cleaning oven are all brand new. Flat screen TV and electric fireplace complete the cozy sitting area.
The master and guest bedrooms are on the south side of the cabin, with southern exposed windows facing our large horse barn and pasture, as well as the mountain ranges beyond. The master has a king-sized bed and attached full bath. The bath also has great natural southern light and a jetted tub with shower. The guest room has a log bunk bed with XL twin over a queen bed. In the great room a twin daybed with lots of pillows will serve as a cozy place to read a good book or an additional bed. The guest bath with shower is conveniently located off the great room, for use by guests in the guest bedroom or the living room. Both bathrooms are beautifully tiled with in-floor heating!
Come and make this adorable cabin your home away from home. Relax on the deck or by the pond, or use it as your hub to explore our wonderful valley and national parks. I am a retired dentist who fled the bustle of California for Wyoming. I am fortunate to have 3 wonderful acres in a marvelous location here that Dan and I have turned into a 'petting zoo'. My horses are pastured adjacent to the cabin with a large red barn to the south view. We have made many improvements including a trout pond with pet ducks, free roaming chickens with fresh eggs and even a miniature mule as a mascot. I love Jackson Hole. We can relax by the pond with Teton Views and moose wondering our quiet country road or spend the day hiking and wildlife viewing. We have created this western style guest cabin for our friends as well as the occasional visitor.
Debbie & Dan purchased this cabin in 2000
I love the mountains and spent many years visiting our Tahoe cabin from the Bay Area. As much as I love Tahoe, Jackson is completely unique and very special. I am fortunate to also have a large ski home a few miles away at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. Both homes are available for guests.
Abundant wildlife and interaction with our domestic ranch inhabitants. Opportunity to bring your own horses is definitely a possibility as well! Our ranch is a wonderful place to share with family and friends.
Deb and Dan
Thank you for sharing the "Cowboy Cabin" with us. It was so comfortable that we felt we were coming home each night after exploring your beautiful state! It was our first time here and I know why you live here. We are sure to be back!
Cowboy Cabin was wonderful. We enjoyed the farm animals and the location was great. Debbie and Dan were very helpful and responsive. Would love to visit again sometime.
We had a great time and my daughter loved the farm. We had to feed the horses every time we left the cabin to go some where. She now asks if we can get goats. The place was clean and big enough for all us. Kitchen was very well stocked. We didn't do much cooking, but definitely could have prepared some great meals. It is in a great location just minutes away from Jackson, Teton Village, and Wilson. We will come back again for sure. Owners were very pleasant and personable. Do not bring any movies or games as they have a HUGE selection and it will just be taking up your space for other things to pack. We packed about a half a dozen movies for my daughter and didn't watch one.
We loved the Cowboy Cabin....hosts have supplied the cabin with everything you would want or need...
It was a virtual animal farm with all their pets...the goats took daily walks with us, too..
The best thing was having our 2 lab dogs stay there, with no additional charge..such a treat...
Our trip turned out to be a nightmare and not because of staying at this wonderful place but because of our flight getting delayed a couple days, our luggage leaving without us, stomach bugs, being hit in our rental car, weather being 20 below all week etc.... etc.... After finally arriving in Jackson Hole we learned that our luggage was either stored outside or in a room that had a leak because 75% of our luggage was soaked! Thanks American Airlines!! When we arrived at the Cowboy Cabin we learned that the dryer was not working. They were waiting on a part to fix it. The owners were kind enough to offer and help us dry our clothes by bringing laundry baskets up and taking them to their house to dry them. Very kind! They then provided a temporary dryer in the meantime that worked part of the time. They were always for than eager to try to help when issues arose. The views are stunning and majestic! The windows are big and allow for beautiful scenery to pour into the Cowboy Cabin from two sides. The rooms are spacious enough and the bathrooms are great. The tile floors in both bathrooms are heated and this was a very welcome thing considering the freeze we were experiencing. The only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is because of cleanliness. When we arrived we noticed the bedspread was covered in long, white, dog hair. The couch was also covered in the same hair. Don't get me wrong, we are dog people and dog owners and my husband is even a vet. However when it is cold and you want to wear fleece you don't expect to sit down on furniture and be instantly covered in white fur. It was impossible to get it off without changing clothes. The owner explained that the previous renter had a white dog and was there for a month so this would explain the hair but not why it was not cleaned well before we came. Since we arrived 2 days late due to weather, the owners offered for us to stay two days longer for free since no one had booked after us. We could not do this due to our work schedule but it was a kind offer. I understand why they did not offer any money back for those dates but that would have been an even kinder offer. For the most part, we truly enjoyed the Cowboy Cabin and the owners were exceptional. We would return.
We've just returned from a month at the cabin, for the 5th year. We surely hated to leave. This guest house has every amenity you could think of; also, it is fully stocked with many food staples, laundry supplies, kitchen supplies. The view from our deck is over the pond and directly to the Grand Tetons. It is a 10 min drive to Jackson or to Teton Village, to great restaurants, shopping, hiking, fishing, animal drives, and much more.
Dan and Debbie are there to answer any questions you may have about the area or activities. (There is also lots of info in the cabin - maps, guidebooks, etc) They are the ultimate hosts who obviously enjoy meeting people and are so welcoming and friendly.
We love the animals and enjoy watching all of them, domestic and wild. This year we watched moose - bulls, mamas, babies - right from our deck!
We plan to be back next summer!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Cowboy Cabin, only 10 minutes from Jackson Hole and a short drive via the very scenic Moose/Wilson road to Grand Teton park entrance. The Moose/Wilson road is also a prime location to spot moose, elk, owls, and other wildlife. The cabin is well appointed-gorgeous kitchen with everything you need, granite countertops. Two bedrooms with very comfortable beds, master has a gorgeous tile bathroom. Views of the Tetons are amazing, as well as the view of the horses on the ranch. Our kids thoroughly enjoyed the kayak and paddleboat on our own private pond in the backyard as well as the horses, chickens, cat, ducks, and dogs. There are wonderful bike paths from the house with gorgeous scenery to take in while you ride. Dan and Debbie were very attentive to our needs during our stay and gave us helpful suggestions about things to do in the area. This area is a perfect place to stay, close to so many things. The house was well equipped with many books/guides on Teton and Yellowstone, as well as a wide variety of DVD's and movies suitable for all ages. Our kids would have been content to stay at the house the entire time and not venture out/sight-see at all! We look forward to staying here again someday!
