Watty and Stacy Strickland moved to Golden, CO during the summer of 2010. We have lived in Alaska, California, and most recently, Katy, TX. We have a Boomer Sooner daughter and a fightin' Texas Aggie son. Our family loves to ski, hike and fish. We can't wait to share our vacation home with you!
Stacy Strickland purchased this townhome in 2011
After one ski season of commuting, we knew we wanted to purchase a vacation home in Breck. After searching high and low, we were thrilled to find this townhome. We love that it's a newer property, on the shuttle route, short walk to town, yet secluded on it's own cul-de-sac. The open floor plan on the main level brings the whole family together whether cooking, playing cards, working a puzzle, or watching a football game.
We love the great mountain views and the river and beaver pond across the street. Our first night in the townhome was enjoyed by sitting in the hot tub under a full moon and listening to the babbling river while we slept. Heavenly!
We really loved all the great views from this wonderful townhouse. The location is great; close to town, yet on a private street! We would lay in bed at night and let the sound of the river lull us to sleep! We were here right at the perfect time to view the aspens. We can't wait to come and stay in the Winter!
My group enjoyed our stay at this property. Excellent view of Breck from the hot tub. Well equipped kitchen. 2 car garage was very handy. Clean and great for up to 6 people. Can fit more if you need to (we did !). Owner was very good to work with. Very solid ski location.
Couldn't have asked for better accomodations! We have stayed at a couple of different places in Breck for both skiing and summer hiking. The Strickland's home is comfortable, convenient to the slopes and to town, the hot tub/views are wonderful. Stacy, it was an honor to stay in your home. We hope to return again soon!
The Culbertson Family
Stacy's town home was exactly what I would want if I were buying in Breckenridge. It is all very recently updated with excellent fixtures and appliances. They didn't go cheap on the renovation by any means! The kitchen is very well stocked and equipped (only complaint was knives were dull - just bring your own if you really care). The hot tub is very clean and high quality. You can really tell this is primarily their family vacation home that they allowed us to use for a few days, and that made us feel very much at home during our stay.
The location is great - 10 minute walk to town or a 3 minute drive. For skiing you can take the free shuttle which stops at the end of the road, or drive 5 minutes to the base of peak 9 and pay to park there. Stacy was very accommodating and easy to work with. I really hope to stay here again.
Took us awhile to find a rental that offered three private bedrooms with queen/king beds. So though excited, we were almost afraid Stacy's home would be too good to be true. But it wasn't! The townhome was perfect. Exactly as advertised, exactly what three couples needed on our first ski trip to CO.
Everything was clean, well-maintained, and well-stocked. All the necessities were provided in plenty. Beds were cozy and living area was spacious and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed the views and amenties as well as appreciated the location. Never more than a ten minute trip in to town either in our car or the shuttle.
The large (fit all six adults!) hot tub was a welcome indulgence after a day on the slopes and the fire place helped heat up the house quick.
All of my correspondence with Stacy was quick, friendly, and so informative. She made the process so easy which just amped our excitement. Thank you for being such a huge part of our perfect Breckenridge trip!
I liked everything about this townhouse. Great location, comfortable beds, nice view, lots of space for a family. What a wonderful escape from the summer heat. I spent a lot of time on the deck enjoying the view of the mountains. You're not too far from anything -- hiking, biking, rafting. A three minute drive to downtown. When I had a minor problem with the television, Stacy was instantly accessible and we got it taken care of. I intend to go back to Breckenridge and would love to stay here again.
My husband and I just spent a week at this excellent townhouse! We have rented on VRBO for many years from Whistler, BC to St. John USVI and we have NEVER had a place that was this well stocked with amenities! In addition to the gorgeous view and lovely accommodations, the place was stocked with all of the things we normally have to buy: detergent, trash bags, paper products....even the pantry was full! Having a garage was great! We parked the car on Tuesday and got in it again when we left the following Tuesday! The hot tub was great. Much more room than we needed (HUGE), but it was more reasonable than a STUDIO on the mountain!! Walking to the bus stop only took a few minutes and was never an issue (we did have a full moon most of the time for walks back at night). A few times we even walked to and from town skipping the bus. This place was a major bargain and Stacy was very responsive as others have mentioned. We hope to go back again for a warm weather trip!!
