This bunkhouse is a converted garage with a large concrete pad that is great to park a camper on.
In the winter our place makes a great executive furnished apartment. Ask about monthly rates for winter!
At the bottom of our lot is 50 foot frontage on the lake. There is a dock there to swim and boat off of.
Interior – Yes we now have WIFI! You will love the interior of our Bunkhouse. It is well finished space with all you need in a little bit of room.
We also have 3 fishing rods and reels (and tackle box) in the closet. All you need is some worms to catch some great big catfish! There are 3 picnic tables around the property to enjoy a snack as well as a portable fireplace and a charcoal grill!
We some classic family fun games to play in the closet as well (Clue, playing cards, and Rook). We built a small “laptop” desk in the main living area with a super view of the lake as you work. I use AT&T for my laptop internet and get 4G service at the cabin or just use our WIFI service at the bunkhouse.
We have two flat screen TVs that get Charter TV cable channels. We also have two air conditioners at the bunkhouse. One in the bedroom and one in the main room.
Inside the closet you will find two outdoor folding chairs to relax with and there is a 4 person picnic table for your use as well.
Parking is not an issue as you have 1.5 acres of land to use. Not a problem if you have several cars or even your boat and trailer etc.
The morning and evening views are just amazing to put it mildly.
You are just a short distance about 1 mile from the German Creek Boat Marina and 10 minutes from Morristown. Here you will find College Square Mall, Walmart and many other shops. You can rent a pontoon there and park it at our small dock. Feel free to call (423) 248-4714 for more information on the boat rental.
Canoe (3 man), Kayaks (2), Paddle Board – For an extra 50.00 (each item) on your stay we will bring you a some water equipment and life jackets to enjoy the lake with. Just let us know in advance.
If you like to get away and enjoy the lake but really come back into an incredible decorated and quality built bunkhouse, this is the place for you.
I enjoy the challenge of real estate projects, running our Salvage Unlimited, and traveling across Europe.
We live near the bunkhouse and take great pride in keeping it in tip top shape for your rental experience.
If you like Cherokee lake you'll love the Bunkhouse at Cherokee and the privacy we have on our 1.5 acres!
Shawn Wilmoth purchased this bungalow in 2006
We bought this great place as a real estate investment and wanted to remodel the cute little rock covered garage into living area to enjoy the lake.
I designed this bunkhouse similar to efficiency apartments I have seen in Europe. Small but adequate spaces with simple design and style. I hope you enjoy.
It is hard to find a finished space for rental in our area with, lake frontage, camper parking and hookups and top rated living space. Our bookings of repeat visitors seems to go up every year. You can make our place yours anytime you want to come down to Cherokee Lake.
The property was very clean but small. The bed was small not much support. The tv in the bedroom did not work. The one in the living was fine. There is some water damage and mold in the living room so if you have allergies this might bother you. The bathroom sink is very slow draining and the air conditioner filter needs to be cleaned as it will cool better. Now with all this being said all of these things are minor and easily fixed. The property owner is easy to work with and very responsive. The view is beautiful . Do not overlook this property we enjoyed our weekend.
Found the bunkhouse to be a comfortable place to stay. Really enjoyed the large yard and patio table, my grandkids came to visit for the day and we cooked out, fished from the dock and shot basketball. The lake is a good stroll down a hill but we went up and down a couple time and I heard no complaints. Quite neighborhood so it's a great place to recharge and listen to nature!
Overall we had a nice family weekend at the bunkhouse. It was smaller than expected but worked fine for our family of 4. The weather was great, water level was good. We rented a canoe, kayak, and paddle board from the owner. He was easy to get a hold of by text with prompt replies. We made a fire in the portable fire pit on the patio and roasted hotdogs, and marshmallows for s'mores. We brought a hammock, travel guitar, picnic blanket, and frisbee. Our teenager spent most of his time playing a game online on his laptop - internet connection was alright. Our youngest wanted to swim all day, the water temp was perfect and there's a shallow/beach like point in the cove just a short canoe ride over from the private dock. We took a moonlight canoe ride...the moon was bright and reflected on the glass-like water. There wasn't a DVD player and we couldn't get the TV channels to turn on, so our youngest watched a DVD on our laptop, which was just fine. It's quite the uphill hike to get back to the bunkhouse from the dock, but the view is worth it, and the cove is relatively quiet and private. Lots of grassy space to run around, and good shade at certain times of the day. We will probably go again sometime!
Pics of bunk house are misleading. The pics had a full bed and bunk beds. The bunk beds are gone and there are pullout ottomans. Which make it impossible to keep in the bedroom because the people could not get out of bed to the bathroom. Air conditioner in bedroom barely works room stays warm all the time even with air running at lowest temp. Walk to dock is down a long hill and dock is not even turned in correct position I had to tighten the dock line from dock to shore because you could not get on the dock without stepping in lake.
Neighbor dogs came over every time we were outside grilling.
This is my 4th visit, clean and perfect for fishing trips. We did have to buy our own toilet paper and paper towels, would've like to already had that there
Everything you need to stay away from home. Great place to stay if you are fishing and bringing a boat. Outside electric sockets to charge boat batteries. Plenty of space to drive and park hooked to a boat. Only down fall is dock was little to far away from cabin to leave my boat in the water comfortably. No big deal. There's a boat ramp on twin church road not even 5 min away.
Below is some fishing information from TWRA website regarding the type and quantity of fish in our lake. Fisherman come from Ohio, Kentucky, Virginia, (and of course Tennessee) to enjoy fishing in Lake Cherokee. Now you can enjoy this from the comfortable base of the Bunkhouseatcherokee.
