Delight in this intimate, luxury 5-star resort with breathtaking Sea of Cortez views. Casa del Mar is situated within the Cabo Real development, an oasis of lush tropical gardens on the shore of the Sea of Cortez. This world-class resort features miles of pristine beaches, championship golf, breathtaking views and endless sunny days. Traditional colonial architecture, casual sophistication and the true spirit of Mexican warmth and hospitality make Casa del Mar a vacation destination without equal—and this luxury unit is 1,300 square feet of the appealing sophistication that characterizes the entire resort.
We travel frequently had have two teenage kids. We like being a bit off the beaten track and are very active. We try and look for things the locals like to do and enjoy authentic experiences.
Don Hirschaut purchased this condo in 2001
Easy access to both the towns of Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo. (10 minute drive to either town) Great beach that you can walk for miles! Golf on-site, 5 star Hacienda style resort. Built 1992.
We love staying at our condo at the the Casa del Mar Beach Resort and Spa. Our unit has high speed wireless and a private Jacuzzi tub on the deck. We love watching the sunset each evening and ordering room service from the nearby resturant. The resort complex is spread out over a large area and has low rise construction with amazing tropical landscaping. There is world class golf on-site and their are several pools to enjoy. We love hanging out and often take advantage of the pool side snack bar. The resort never gets crowded and offers excellent privacy.
Amazing nature, nice people, easy to drive, cost effective activities. Be aware, if you ask prices in Spanish you get answers in Pesos, typically cheaper than USD. Likewise others places in the world, better to show up as local.
The condo was as described -- beautiful view of ocean and mountains; lovely, exceptionally well-cared for tropical gardens throughout property; well-equipped condo. Very clean condo, friendly people, very good restaurant (and fairly priced for a resort). There weren't a lot of people there during our week so we had all this uncrowded. Excellent security as well. Don't miss the night they have the harp player in the restaurant -- it's magical! Don't bother going next door to Las Ventanas for a meal -- wildly over-priced and they're not crazy about visitors. Do go into San Jose del Cabo as well as Cabo San Lucas. San Jose has a large, well-stocked supermarket on the way in from the airport. We also recommend Cactus Rentals for car rental which is local, reasonable and has great service. Driving is pretty easy because of the excellent roads but be prepared for fast drivers and aggressive lane switching. Some of our favorite places were: Guus' Tacos in downtown Cabo. It's a local open-air storefront with the best tacos al pastor we've ever had and for a little over a dollar each! Solomon's Landing on the Marina in Cabo for excellent Mexican food. Flora's Farm and Kitchen are worth a special trip. It might have been our favorite place. It's about 25 minutes from the resort, outside San Jose and you need to carefully follow their directions. Flora's is an organic farm with a farm to fork casual restaurant that is superb. If you go for dinner, take a cab as you'll be going down some dirt roads. We loved wandering around before lunch. We had a lovely experience at this condo -- perfect for just being there and for exploring the area.
Very happy with this place. It was perfect for what we needed, and communication was excellent. The view is beautiful and the staff @ Casa del Mar were wonderful.
This is a great place to stay. A well equipped condo with spectacular views of the beach and sunsets. Its located on the third floor making it great whale watching as well. My wife and I took our one and a half year-old along with her parents for a week. The condo was perfect for the five of us, enough room and a complete kitchen allowing us to cook meals when we didn't feel like going to town or the Restaurants. The condo is right by the main pool with swim up bar, and restaurant. The staff there was amazing especially Zachariah, and Louis, they would greet my son with hi-fives every time we walked to the pool or the beach. The food was amazing. The complex has multiple pools, but we mainly used the main pool because of the kiddie pool that my son enjoyed. The beach was beautiful, but there is a strong under-tow so be careful. It was better for a stroll or sitting in a lounge chair enjoying a cerveza. I did swim once or twice but would not recommend it for young kids or inexperienced swimmers. For good snorkeling and swimming check out Chileno beach just a couple miles down the road towards Cabo San Lucas. The beach only had one or two people selling stuff, and they would leave you alone after you said no once. There was horse back riding on the beach down by Dreams, which made a great afternoon. I would recommend renting a car or be prepared to pay for taxi rides to get to Cabo San Lucas, and San Jose Del Cabo each town has its own feel and are only about 10-15 minutes away. This is also where you will need to do grocery shopping, we went to Costco, Walmart and Mega during our trip. We were there for new year's eve and the restaurant had a special dinner with live music, and then a bonfire with fireworks on the beach at midnight. We had a wonderful time and are already planning to return.
If you love the beach you'll love Casa Del Mar and Pelicano 301. Perfect location in the Los Cabos corridor. Right next to Las Ventanas!! Only 10 minutes to San Jose del Cabo, a much more interesting town than Cabo San Lucas which is too touristy for us.
Very well equipped villa on the 3rd floor. Great view.
Casa del Mar is a high end, immaculately maintained, villa development anchored by a luxury hotel. Multiple pools and restaurants including one directly on the beach. Very good food, some of the best we found in Cabo.
Minutes to the best golf in Cabo.
The complex is right on the beach and in a quiet area between the 2 towns of San Jose and San Lucas. The beach is quiet. You can go out on the beach and no one is soliciting anything. I saw one guy selling hats in 4 days. You need a car to get around because there is nothing within walking distance for food, etc.
The unit is very clean, updated, and everything works. The internet was down for 2 days. It was a Tel-Mex problem and nothing with the condo equipment. That was fine so I had an excuse not to look at E-mails. The Jacuzzi on the deck only takes about 1 hour to get warm and it really gets warm..Nice!
The condo complex also includes a hotel. Here is the problem. If you have kids they are not allowed in the Jacuzzi. They have a Jacuzzi "Nazi" that will tell the kids to get out. The sign is posted next to the Jacuzzi. So the kids were not allowed to jump in the Jacuzzi to warm up. The complex caters to the hotel guest. If you tell them you are in a condo their attitude changes and will start ignoring you. Residing in the condo you have access to the pool and chairs only!!! Take a towel with you from the condo (which they have inside the unit). If you forget, don't take a green towel from the pool area. Towel Nazi will tell you towels are for hotel guest only!
There is also some very creative pricing on drinks and food. Condo residences get 40% off. Beware! Got 3 drinks (non-alcohol) price was 285. After telling him we were at a condo, price went up to 435 then he took 40% off of 435. What??!! Showed him the menu and he ignored the menu. Guess he thought I was dumb and couldn't do math!
The lower pool area is for HOTEL GUEST ONLY! It is very nice near the beach. Again no children allowed to come near the pool area. I think you can pay some money to have access to the Club Area for a day. Save your money for margs in San Jose.
The condo is great and the complex is great. It is mainly for 60+ couples who want to be waited on. If you go to the complex with this info in mind you will have a great time with no surprises. Just let the kids go in the Jacuzzi when it is dark to spite the management.
This was a great place to stay, very peaceful in Mid-May, flowers everywhere, beautiful! The photos are exactly as is. The view and sound of the ocean was incredible from the balcony. Definitely would want to have a rental car as the resort is not in walking distance from either nearby town. The resort is perfectly maintained, great service, not crowded. It felt very private. Can't wait to go back again!
Would recommend going to San Lucas one day and taking a boat to see the Arch! San Jose has a beautiful local catholic church where we attended services. Also nearby One and Only resort has an incredible restaurant with an ocean view.
You'll find plenty of activities to fill your time in Los Cabos. Cruises, tours, and shopping are just a few of the available options. Or maybe you'd rather just spend the day on the beach with a cool drink and a good book. Whatever you have in mind for your vacation, you'll find it in Los Cabos, including whale watching, diving, golf, sport fishing and great nightlife. Los Cabos is home to the two cities of Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo. Cabo San Lucas is an energetic city, with a bustling marina and the iconic stone arch at Land's End. San José del Cabo offers traditional charm, historic architecture and wonderful restaurants. Between the two is the Corridor area, lined with beautiful beaches.
