After being in the business world for over 40 years, we decided it was time 'to do something different.' So...we sold our businesses, built a log home, packed our bags & moved from north MS to Hendersonville. Sometimes while sitting on the deck enjoying the mountain views, we feel as if we need to pinch ourselves to make sure we're not dreaming.
We enjoy riding our Harley through the mountains on a sunny day, visiting with our new friends, exploring the area for new adventures and just sitting on the front porch watching the hummingbirds and various other birds - blue birds, especially. Call it retirement or unemployment...we'll never be bored here!
Ralph & Cheri Brunner purchased this cabin in 2010
We vacationed in this area for years. While building our own log cabin, we stayed in Dogwood several times and found it to be most comfortable. When the owners moved out of town, we volunteered to help them with cleaning and maintenance of Dogwood. The fit was perfect! When the opportunity presented itself for us to purchase Dogwood, we knew we wanted to make it our own. Now we care for it as our own home, so that our guests can have a comfortable, fabulous home away from home.
Upgraded facilities, given a 5-star rating by those who have stayed here.
The boys have loved your property. Lots of room for them. They love the night time sounds in the woods.
Thank you and Ralph for taking care of all of our needs. Our week here has been great.
Sitting in the sun on the back porch, with cool weather is my idea of relaxing.
You have a good thin going here - hope it continues.
This past weekend, we stayed at the Dogwood with our dog, and our friends who also have a dog. In general, we find it quite difficult to travel, as not many accommodations are pet-friendly. Many will say they are for a pretty large pet fee. This is why I love the Dogwood. The cabin is truly pet-friendly. It was extremely clean when we arrived, and had charming animal friendly features such as dog bowls, dog washing supplies/towels, dog beds, and poop bags. The fenced in yard was fantastic, especially since we could watch our dogs run around from the back deck while we enjoyed the grill and chatting at the outside seating area. Our vacation was stress free knowing that our dogs could play all day and would be tired out in time for us to go explore the sights of Asheville at night. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed during our stay, including pots and pans, coffee maker, dishes, pot holders, and steak knives; all things that we were happy we did not have to pack for our visit. The bedrooms and bathrooms were both spacious, clean, and stocked with extra pillows and towels. Lastly, the owners of the property are very thoughtful, accessible, and understanding. We had a wonderful weekend getaway and would love to come back for a visit soon!

We enjoyed our stay at Dogwood. The cabin was nicely decorated, clean, comfortable and well stocked with all necessities. Dogwood is conveniently located and we loved the quaint town of Hendersonville and the surrounding area. We will definitely be back. Marilyn and Joe, Jupiter, FL
My family LOVED the Dogwood property (and so did our dogs!) The cabin felt right at home with every ammentiy needed for a great North Carolina mountain vacation. The cabin was close to everything we did...hiking, zip lining, gem mining, parks and dining. The Cabin was warm and cozy and had everything from dish soap, garbage bags, and spices...pretty much anything you need. Even an Ingles card to get discounts when you go grocery shopping. My kids had the best time! They loved playing in the very large fenced yard with our two dogs. We will definitely be back to what felt like a home away from home, Dogwood Cabin!!
It was nice to be able to bring our dogs on vacation with us. The cabin was immaculate and catered as much to humans as canines. I would definitely stay again and will recommend to all my friends.
Perfect spot, clean quiet, great space for our dog's to run like crazy, and conveniently located to roads to get to all the relatives. Couldn't ask for more. Thanks, and we'll be back.
We very much enjoyed our week-long visit to this cabin. It is about 10-15 minutes outside Hendersonville, with good paved roads leading to the cabin. The fenced back yard was a great, safe place for our dogs to explore and play. We enjoyed relaxing on the back deck that overlooks the yard. The owner was very responsive to our questions as the time for our visit approached. The cabin was neat and clean and was a great place to stay as we enjoyed western North Carolina.
Whether or not you have a pet, this is a great place to stay, and we would certainly recommend it.
