Guestbook comments from the manager

5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago for a stay in October 2014

We were skeptical at first since we had never rented a cabin before & didn't know what to expect. I have allergy so i couldn't stay anywhere that had a musty smell. Richard, who owns the cabin was very honest saying that the cabin would ok for me.

When we arrived we were absolutely amazed, it was everything we wanted it to be. Loved the rocking chairs on the front porch, had a great view of the pond. The setting was wonderful, you're in the woods, but close to town. It had a running stream a few yards from the cabin, loved that.

Every morning we were greeted by 12 Turkeys, unbelievable. Had every utensil & supplies you could possibly need, no need to bring anything.

The cabin was very comfortable & super clean. Chimmey Rock was close by with cute shops & restaurants on the river.

The fireplace was great, wish we could have stayed longer. Would highly recommend this cabin, loved it more

Perfect Weekend Getaway!!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was adorable!! Very cozy and comfortable as well. We stayed here for my birthday and thought we would go to downtown Asheville and Hendersonville, but we ended up spending the majority of our time at the cabin bc we loved it so much!

Cabin is a cute as the pictures

  • 4 of 5

Very cute and well laid out cabin. But it is in frequent use and wearing a little around the edges. The advertised game room is not really set up for use with random stuff around the perimeter and my girls couldn't find the dart board and not being attached to the house they didn't want to use it much. But the location is central to all the activities in the Asheville area which are more than you can possibly check off in a week.

Great cabin in the woods.

  • 4 of 5

This cabin is a great get-a-way with your dogs. We were 3 couples with 3 large dogs. We had such trouble finding a place that would accommodate us and we were so grateful Richard allows pets at this property. The cabin is pretty spacious and has everything you could need. It's a bit dated, but I've come to expect that from cabins. The kitchen was pretty well-stocked and the beds were comfy. The pull-out bed was not comfy at all, but what pull-out beds are? The radiant heat in the cabin works almost too well! It got very warm upstairs, but it could be adjusted easily and we were grateful for the warmth. It was so cold outside, we didn't even use the hot tub, the game room, or the awesome bonfire pit. We'll have to come back again to really enjoy it. You could tell that the upstairs was an addition based upon the flooring/ceiling. It's not a very quiet house and there's no insulation between the floor/ceiling of the lower level so you can hear people downstairs as if they're in the room next to you. We were all so tired from our activities during the day though, so the noise level didn't matter much. The bathroom shower is a bit perilous, has horrible water pressure, and the door doesn't close all the way, but we were only staying for the weekend so that didn't bother us at all. Some of those things just can't be fixed with upstairs additions. The neighborhood dog, Buddy, was a bit worrying but he never approached any of us or our dogs. I had to convince my boyfriend not to take a pair of scissors to the mattes that covered his entire body. That poor guy. Richard was very responsive and always answered his emails within the day. The house was clean, well-stocked, and has everything you could want for a get-a-way. The games were a nice addition and the dining table was great because it fit all of us very easily. We wish we could've stayed longer!!

Great cabin! Well appointed and comfy!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed 4 nights with 3 kids - 2 teens and a 6 year old. Access to the cabin was easy to navigate when we visited the surrounding areas. With no real agenda we just hung out and the cabin was just right for this and well appointed. The kitchen had everything we needed and the extra supplies of sugar, paper towels and such makes a huge difference in one's stay. While we did not bring our dogs, the Newfie in the neighborhood, Buddy, was a treat to see each day.

My wife loved the master bed. My preference is for something more firm. The other beds were fine. The bathroom upstairs was fine to me, but my wife felt like the shower needs a bit of attention - the pressure was bit low, sort of like a camp shower to her.

The girls enjoyed the property inside and outside. The games were nice and mostly all together and playable. The guitar was a welcome surprise. The TV set up was fine for us. Internet was pretty good, but got spotty with the weather we had. Our youngest enjoyed playing on the big rocks and the swing.

The cabin had just the right amount of being nice but not overdone. For us it was comfy, comfy, comfy. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
