About The Owner

We are a a family of four from South Florida. We have two young daughters and we are all just in love with Beech Mountain. Other than getting married and having the girls, buying this home has been the best decision we have made. Life is good when we are on Beech!!!

Fast forward several years, we now have two teenage girls who still love coming to Beech. I am an Interior Designer by trade so I truly appreciate the beauty and architecture of the house. I am also the extremely proud owner of which is a unique online gifting experience that gives back to Operation Smile as well as Nicklaus Children's Hospital, formerly known as Miami Children's Hospital.

The Owner purchased this house in 2010

Why The Owner chose Beech Mountain

My husband grew up in South Florida, vacationing on Beech Mountain. I grew up in New York, escaping the city to our weekend house in Woodstock. I remember some of my best memories as a kid at that house. My parents weren't so busy when we were there. I always knew I wanted that for my children but wasn't really sure where. I honestly didn't know what an amazing place Beech Mounatin was, we kind of just lucked out after falling in love with the house. It is the kind of place where everyone takes the time to say hello and everyone seems to know your name. How nice!

What makes this house unique

We love to hike, white water raft, zip line and really take advantage of the areas natural envirnoment. There are lots of natural waterslides that the girls love to go to. The temperature alone in the summer is worth it for me, coming from South Florida. There are not many places that you can get 50 degree nights in the middle of the summer. In the winter we really enjoy sledding right out our back door. Ofcourse, skiing, snowboarding and tubing are all a huge plus too.

***There are some great restaurants too!

Information for Spring or Summer

  • 1 of 5

I will attempt to write this review to share our experience with honesty and without malice. When requesting this home, I clearly stated we were needing to "beat the heat" from our coastal home and escape to the cool of the mountains. We were approved and proceeded with the booking. The owner emailed me to request names/ages of our family members for access to the Beech Mountain Club. Needless to say, we were excited to stay in this "luxury" mountain home. We arrived at the home late afternoon in July...we were greeted with a HOT, stuffy home at a balmy 79 degrees. My husband found a hand written note on the kitchen counter that read "There is no AC in this home. If you turn on system to cool-only, fan runs...must open windows for cool air!" We were appalled! Why this information was not shared with me at time of booking request was not acceptable. Up stairs was even worse - HOT, muggy air engulfed every room. Our cell phones did not have service in the home's location and when I made an attempt to call the owner, the land line to the home was not active. If we would have had an emergency, we would have been helpless to get help without driving down the mountain. After 2 hours of opening the windows, the conditions did not improve, so we left to inform the owners of our circumstances. The owner was NOT concerned and stated that she did not say that the home DID have AC. We felt this non-disclosure was not acceptable since our premise for renting the home was to experience cooler climates. She had multiple opportunities during our emails prior to our stay to inform me of Non-A/C. When we returned to the home, it was warmer than we had left. Some of the window screens had holes. We left after staying 3 hours in this "luxury home". Our vacation ruined, our children disappointed, our hard-earned money wasted as the owner refused to issue us any level of refund. If you are considering this home, you need to know there is NO A/C, the golf view is actually an "audible" location to the driving range, and the Beech Country Club did not have our information for us to enjoy any amenities upon arrival. We are property owners as well and feel full disclosure of our properties are ethical and prudent. I attempted not to assign "Stars" to this purpose in writing this is for others to know the truth about this home. Also, the owners needed to have offered some form or amount of refund as the home was extremely HOT at nearly 80 degrees.

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. Very clean, lots of space, and lots of great extras that we didn't expect (can you say "steam shower"?). Owners were great as well. Very responsive and provided clear instructions. Would highly recommend!

Great home. Relaxing and secluded location.

  • 5 of 5

Perfect for travelers looking for a high end home in Beech Mountain. It's a 45+ minute drive to Boone so if you want easy access to the amenities there, choose a location closer. But if you want luxury in the mountains, great hiking, peace and quiet to relax and easy access to the town of Banner Elk... which has plenty of good dining for a long weekend trip... then you won't go wrong staying here.

Stunning Home, Stunning Location, Stunning View

  • 4 of 5

We traveled to Beech Mountain in January over the MLK Holiday Weekend and had the time of our lives! We had 3 families in our group and had ample room at this beautiful mountain, golf course home. Elise was so friendly and helpful, always willing to answer our questions without hesitation. The house is beyond gorgeous and absolutely breathtaking. We had a beautiful snowfall the day before we left and the kids had a blast sledding down the golf course right outside the back door! The ski resort and restaurants are within 10 minutes travel time. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed this trip. Thank you Elise for sharing your home with us! One last thing...make sure you have a 4 or All Wheel Drive or chains. We learned the hard way, but made some great memories during our adventure up the snowy mountain!

A Super Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Last summer 2014, my wife and I and our housekeeper spent about 4 weeks at this property. We had a terrific time. We invited at different times our children and grandchildren to visit. The house is beautiful and practical. There was comfort and room for all of us. Most importantly, Michael and Elisa the owners, oblige in any way they can. If we were not going overseas this summer, we surely would be back. I recommend this property for everyone.

Great Christmas Memories

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I visit the North Carolina Mountains a few times a year, and had a wonderful time this Christmas.

The home is located overlooking a beautiful section of the Beech Mountain Golf Course where we saw deer every day we were there. One day, a family of deer even walked by the kitchen window-- so peaceful!

Perfect setting for us to go to a local Christmas tree farm and get a wonderful Christmas tree to make some great holiday memories

We loved preparing most of our meals in the nice kitchen, and the rest of the house has plenty of soft beds and quaint sitting areas for every taste.

Too chilly to really enjoy the outdoor area, but a nice fireplace and table outside would be great in the spring and summer!

Beech Mountain is a little world all by itself, but some great resources in town. (Loved Fred's General Store.. they have EVERYTHING!) Home is about 20 minutes to Banner Elk and the ski areas, all on curvy but well-maintained roads. Spent some time snow tubing on a small but very pretty Christmas day snow!

Loved the trip and will always consider the mountains a favorite travel spot.
