Literature from this period is there in a small library, in addition to informative journals about Berlin and its surroundings. Beautiful apartment and excellent for a family of four. Short walk to the underground so easy to get into the city centre.
We stayed in the apartment for 4 nights and loved it. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils and dishes. the decorating is very tasteful. Fortunately, it was not too hot when we were there, so just opening the windows on both sides gave a lovely cross flow breeze which cooled the apartment quickly. The bathroom has a washing machine, but there is no dryer, so wash in time to have your clothing hand dry. The only small negative is that the floor squeaks when walked on.
The neighborhood is charming and centrally located within a short walk from both U-Bahn and S-Bahn rail stations, giving quick access to all of Berlin. There are also some very good restaurants within blocks and a major grocery store just down the street. The owners have maps showing where the neighborhood amenities are in relation to the apartment. There is also a wall map of Berlin for help planning your expeditions.
We would definitely stay again next time we are in Berlin!
It is a 4 story walk up, so those with mobility issues should look elsewhere.
We were overjoyed to be staying in this fabulous, historic apartment. Everything we could have wished for and more (at least 3 different ways of making coffee!). When holidaying in Berlin in the winter a primary concern is to keep warm. Despite all the luxurious space this apartment was really cosy and controls on each radiator meant we could be just as warm as we needed. The beds were big and comfortable and the huge velux windows were perfect for gazing at magical snow-covered trees. Stephan was most accommodating, in particular in his flexibility around arrival/departure times. We are an English family visiting with three adult daughters and the apartment accommodated us perfectly - a lovely big table to eat at and a vast bathroom. We particularly liked the vintage/modern style and the fish painting. The big map of Berlin and information about the locale were useful too.
We used the trains to travel around Berlin and enjoyed the walk to and fro the station, particularly in the snow!
We would all recommend this apartment - we would give it 10 stars if we could!
We had the pleasure of spending a week in Stephan's beautifully and professionally decorated loft. The apartment exceeded all our expectations. Stephan and his mother were most hospitable, bilingual folks who were kind and flexible to meet our needs. We would very much look forward to revisiting in the future. The pictures do not do justice to this wonderful facility that we would recommend with no reservations.
This is a fantastic place. It is a beautiful, huge loft in a very interesting building. It is extremely clean, beautifully appointed, with everything you could need. There are good restaurants and good grocery stores very close by, and it is located in a quiet neighborhood of Berlin.
Stephan was very kind, efficient and very easy to deal with, and provided lots of interesting background on the building.
We will definitely stay here again when we are in Berlin, and recommend it highly to other travelers.
This is a lovely loft a partment with a kitchen I wish I had at home. there is every thing you would need in it and the Spar is a very short walk away. The upside to a fourth floor apartment is that it is great exercise and there is also recyling bins which I like to see, The apartment is verybright and clean and very comfortable. It is close to bus stop and about a short walk to the subway. There are some nice restaurants near by and we found Berlin a great place to visit and would definitely recomend this city and this apartment.
The apartment is located in the north of the large zoo in Stephankiez in a quiet, lush green backyard. The subway station Birkenstrasse and the suburban railway station Westhafen are both about 600 m away and they are reachable within walking distance. Bus stops are in Perleberger street about 300 metres from the apartment for bus no. M123, which will take you straight in minutes Chancellery, Reichstag, Brandenburg Gate, the stelae field of the Holocaust Memorial and museums, and finally to the Potsdam Square.
