About Debbie & Dan
I am a retired dentist and reside on my ranch a few miles away from Teton Village. Dan and I personally manage my 4 short term vacation rentals and are always available for any questions or difficulties our guests may encounter. We love Jackson Hole and surrounding forests and National Parks.
Debbie & Dan purchased this Chalet in 1997
Why Debbie & Dan chose Teton Village
Jackson Hole Ski Area is one of the best ski areas in the US. Although I have skied all over the world, I have never been an expert or extreme skier. The variety and expanse of terrain here means that one never gets bored! My boys learned to ski on the Teewinot and Apres Vous side of the resort, and now enjoy skiing and boarding the entire mountain. The resort is large enough to separate the beginner/intermediate areas at the north end from the challenging cliffs, chutes and un-groomed powder runs that Jackson is famous for. I was living in the Bay Area for many years ago and visiting my cabin in Tahoe for my mountain experience, but ultimately moved to Jackson Hole. There are actually more visitors to this area in Summer than in Winter. There are several reasons for that: #1 We have two national parks within an hour's drive. Grand Teton National Park, adjacent to and just north of Teton Village, and Yellowstone National Park, about 60 miles north. All of the countryside in-between is 'open space', with only a few in-holdings and human comforts. The two parks are incredibly disimiliar in character. Grand Teton has it's towering spine of mountain peaks, glaciers and lakes below; Yellowstone is a high plateau situated so close to the earth's magma that it has the highest concentration of natural thermal features in the world: geysers, boiling mud pots, bright-colored thermal pools, steam vents....but both parks have an important feature in common...wildlife. I have to admit this is a weakness. Tahoe has a wonderful black bear and deer population that I always enjoyed, but in the Greater Yellowstone Region, of which Jackson Hole (which defines a long valley with several small towns including the Town of Jackson and Teton Village) our wildlife including elk, bears, moose, bison and wolves flourish.
What makes this Chalet unique
Mountain Haus is fully stocked with more items than the average rental home. Through my extensive travels, I always appreciated books, movies, toys for the kids, a great room with games and a fully stocked kitchen.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Very accommodating house
This was perfect for our group of 10. 3 bedrooms accommodated three couples with their own bathrooms. The other 2 rooms were perfect for the rest of us single women
This house had every thing you wanted would need. All you need is to bring your food. Owners very responsive to questions
Mountain House review
this was everything it was advertised to be. A beautiful house in a terrific location. Debbie and Dan were very accommodating. OI would definitely stay here again in the future if I had atrip to JH planned with a that required a large house
Good extended family house
Being new to this kind of renting and being old it wasn’t easy for me. But kids and grandchildren helped
The house was perfect for our family of 9 (3 generations). The lay out with the living and dining area upstairs and a master suite adjoining and the other bedrooms downstairs worked very well. This house was the most well provisioned house we have ever rented. The kitchen was well stocked with plates, tools, even napkins, baggies. You name it the owners had it. Shopping bags were provided as Jackson has a 20 cent charge on bags (no plastic). It had a well stocked library with a lot of information about the 2 National Parks nearby and also books on flora and fauna.
The house was set in a wooded area and it was so quiet that I heard an owl hooting in the night.
We were in walking distance to the ski area and village with its wonderful trails, amusements and restaurants.
If you have a large group this house cannot be beat.
The owners responded quickly to the one problem we had with the tv. Other than that everything about the house was in good working order. We had plenty of parking for our 3 cars and bicycles. Check in and check out was easy. All in all a wonderful stay.
Best place for a large group or family. Anything you want is there, Extremely well equipped!
Perfect for a Family Vacation
Mountain Haus was the perfect home for our family gathering with children and grandchildren. Debbie and Dan have thought of EVERYTHING to make this a comfortable home away from home! Plenty of space for children to play and adults to visit, complete with games, puzzles, DVDs, books about the area. The kitchen was amazing with everything you could possibly need to create meals for a large group. There was even a high chair and stair gate for our toddler!
Everyone in our group, aged 22 months to 72 years had a wonderful time. Location was perfect for a walk to Teton Village and visits to Teton and Yellowstone Parks.
