About Vacasa, OR - Mt Hood / Hood River

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Great location, noise issues

 • 3 of 5

We've stayed in several places at Collins Lake. This one was very clean and well furnished. The location is great, especially when there is enough snow to sled on the hill behind.

The major downside for me was the fridge; it had a high-pitched noise that was nearly constant. With a fully open floor plan, noisy kitchen appliances are a big deal. The dishwasher was also extremely loud, but we managed to just run that at night. Neighbors could get loud too, but all the Collins Lake places have that issue.

Comfortable and easy ski access

 • 4 of 5

This condo worked well for a weekend skiing. The hot tub was an easy walk and great in the evening. Beds were comfortable and plenty of towels and bedding. The condo itself is overall comfortable and adequate. However there are a few items to be aware of. First, the kitchen equipment (dishes, pots, etc) is very limited so if you plan to do much cooking you should bring what you need. Also, the condo is a bit on the loud side due to noise from units on each side. Mostly, you could hear whenever someone was walking around on the upper floor of the other unit or opening and closing their closets. We would be sitting in the living room hearing footsteps above us, where the kids were asleep, and go check on them only to realize it was people in the other unit! It wasn't a huge deal for us, just something to be aware of. We would stay here again.

Great location, needs some TLC

 • 3 of 5

Beautiful spot but honestly the beds are terribly uncomfortable. We opened up the futon for the kids to sleep on it and it almost fell apart. It could also use a good deep cleaning. It smelled strongly of onions when we first checked in (probably from the prior occupants) and in general it is dusty and just not well cared-for. We would love to stay again due to location if the place is spruced up a bit. Gave 3 stars because of the wonderful view of Mt Hood out the window and great, walkable access to everything.
