About Lauren Classey
My husband and I purchased a small cottage on Pond Street in Charlestown in 1995. We fell so in love with the location, area, sunsets, views and more but did grow out of our little cottage (with 3 small children growing), so we purchased the property next store! We have two houses on this property (both with the private dock, 3/10's of a mile to the beach). We spend most of our time just taking in the views, the sunsets, kayaking, shellfishing, bird watching, walking the beach and relaxing calling this our 'little piece of paradise'. We have been renting our cottages since 1995 and happen to have a few openings this year as a result of a few of our long time renters having grown children now and evolving summer plans.

Why Lauren Classey chose Charlestown
We chose this location because of the beautiful sunsets on Ninigret Pond and its proximity to the ocean as well as surrounding areas to visit. The private dock and entrance to Ninigret Pond couldn't be more convenient and the unobstructed views of the water, boats, wildlife and sunsets are phenomenal. Charlestown is 10 - 15 minutes away from Misquamicut, Narragansett, University of Rhode Island, Point Judith - Block Island Ferry, Wakefield and Wickford (a cute little seaside town) and 20-30 minutes to Stoninington, CT, the Newport Bridge, Foxwoods Casino, TF Green Airport, Mystic Aquarium and Providence. It's just a really great location!
What makes this Cottage unique
We and our guests enjoy kayaking, canoeing, bird watching, shell fishing, blue crabbing, bass fishing, surf fishing, walking on the beach, biking, beaching, cocktail hour on the deck watching the sunsets, reading, listening to the birds, floating in the pond, sitting in the dock, sitting on the deck, lawn games, local restaurants, Ninigret Park (where there are tons of things going on such as free weekly summer concerts, Frosty Drew Observatory, disc golf, nature trails, festivals and more), hunting for seashells and heart shaped rocks, General Stanton's weekend flea markets, Friday farmers market, all the unique little boutique's in the area as well as tons of golf courses nearby. We also enjoy the proximity to the Block Island Ferry, the fresh seafood either caught in Ninigret Salt pond or getting it from the boats in Galilee.

Awesome location to enjoy the beach
We had a wonderful and relaxing stay at this property. The place has everything you would need - plus a wonderful porch to enjoy sunsets. Our host Lauren was very nice and welcoming. We will definitely be coming back.
Thank you Laryssa. We thoroughly enjoyed having you and would love to have you back. Thanks for taking time out for the review!

Stunning New England escape
We stayed at the cottage for a weekend in late June, and spent it kayaking, strolling to and from the stunning beach around the corner, and enjoying long family meals on front porch, which has a stunning view of Ninigret Pond. Lauren and Mike were professional, friendly hosts who made the rental process seamless. It was an idyllic weekend and we are already talking about trying to rebook in the fall season!
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. We enjoyed having you! The fall on Ninigret is breathtaking with the sun setting right over the bay. We hope you get a chance to see it. Thanks for your awesome review!
Best Ninigret Cottage!
We've stayed with Lauren and Mike for several years now each spring and always had a wonderful time. The cottage is located on a beaufiful south county salt pond, facing perfectly west for amazing sunsets. Walking distance (1/2 mi) to the ocean / beach, and less than a mile to bar / restaurant / ice cream stand. Ninigret Pond itself offers tremendous fishing, swimming, clamming and boating opportunities. Lauren and Mike are wonderful hosts; very helpful with whatever you might need.
The cottage is amply sized, well furnished and sports a great deck with awning, plus large yard on a private drive. Sit and enjoy a cocktail and listen to Ozzy's boneyard on the Sirius XM while your kids catch stripers off the dock in front of the setting sun!
Thanks JT for such a nice review. We enjoy having you and your guests at our cottage. Always good to hear about the fish you catch too! Looking forward to seeing you next year.

Best vacation place.
For the second year in a row we had a marvelous October vacation at this lovely cottage. Lauren and Mike did not treat us as renters, but as welcomed house guests. It is an exquisite location and we loved the deck and its wonderful view and on chilly evenings the fireplace was wonderful. Our hope is to return again in October of 2017.
Thank you for sharing your experience. We love having you and Matt. As much as we also enjoy Charlestown, your pictures make it even that much more beautiful. As always, we hope you can make it again this October. October Is our favorite time of the year on Ninigret
Perfect for reuniting my family
Having a large, active family with everyone going in different directions, it has been difficult to bring my family together this year. This small cottage provided a perfect solution that offered great outdoor activities including clamming, crabbing, fishing, kayaking, nearby beach, clam/ice cream shack and most of all, great memories.
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at our cottage and that you and your family were able to embrace the area, Ninigret Salt Pond and all the great little things Charlestown has to offer. We hope you will be back.
The cottage has amazing views of Ninigret Pond - the birds are beautiful (part of Ninigret is protected), the channel to get to the ocean is right in front of our dock so there is also great boat watching.
