I am the Property Mgr. and I am originally from Philadelphia (The City of Brotherly Love). I have thoroughly enjoyed living in Washington, DC for over 25 years and plan on retiring here. I continue to enjoy the tourist sites and the many interesting and historic places that Washington DC and nearby Virginia and Maryland have to offer. I love bumping into famous people here like Senators on Capitol Hill and even see the President's and Vice President's motorcade racing through the city. Since this property is conveniently located near the METRO, it truly simplifies travel to the numerous sites. For example, the White House, The Smithsonian Museum, The Kennedy Center, The Spy Museum, Mount Vernon and countless other places. My desire is that my guests will experience the joy that I have experienced, while staying in a very comfortable home. My desire is to provide an immaculate home with fine accessories at an affordable price. My ultimate goal is that my guest will consider staying in my home each and every time their visit brings them to the Capital City. Therefore, I warmly welcome the opportunity to receive honest feedback, via e-mailf from every single guest that enter my home. Of course I encourage your reviews also.
The Management Company purchased this apartment in 2008
Washington DC has been my home since 1986 and I do enjoy such a transient city where one has the opportunity to meet so many people of so many diverse backgrounds. I take great pride in living in The Capitol City where one has the opportunity to bump into law makers, senators, diplomats, students from all over the world and many other interesting people. My 20 plus years living in Washington DC has provided me the opportunity to provide a comfortable home in a convenient location at a reasonable price.
This Home is equipped with the following amenities: Iron and Ironing Board, Shopping Cart, hair dryer, coffee pot, toaster, microwave, few periodicals (compliment of the owner other valued guests), umbrella, fine china and many other items for your convenience. The home is located on a residential street that is conveniently located only one block away from a vibrant commercial area. There is a Marshalls, Target, Star Bucks, Ruby Tuesday, Five Guys, Day Spa, Radio Shack, Federal Express, Staples, Hair Salon, Sports Store, The Washington Dance Institute and other places of interest. The home is located on a major thoroughfare that is heavy with traffic heading downtown DC in the mornings yet it is a street that grows quiet in the evening and night. There is a lot of foot traffic with friendly neighbors who walk their dogs and many cyclist who utilize the bike path. The Columbia Heights Metro is located about two and a half city blocks from this location. It is a 5 minute walk (or less) from the apartment to public transportation.
On-Street Parking is available and there are two public parking garages in this neighborhood.
Very nice place close to everything. I would stay here again.
The property was very clean & the manager was extremely helpful. It was 3 blocks from the metro & there were numerous restaurants when
we exited the metro station which was nice after a long day of walking. We were 4 adult women, so the two full baths were great in the morning.
I would definitely use this duplex again!
Plenty of room for a family of four. It has everything you need to make your stay complete, utensils, dinnerware, coffee grinder, tea kettle, pots, pans etc.trash cans, TV's, washer/dryer. Easy walk to Metro station and grocery and department stores, coffee shops, fast food and trendy late night social spots. The Coupe is a must to go for breakfast, or drink!
Great management communication.
Four stars given due to not having the correct information to access the property upon arrival, two doors that I feel should have deadbolt locks on them and with all the signs up that state to be quiet makes you paranoid your always loud especially given your in a 110 year old building where everything creaks and is noisy.
I highly recommend, if your an adventurer and the experience of city living you can not go wrong at this property.
We truly enjoyed our stay:)
This is a really good place to stay if you are in the DC area. Kitchen is fully stocked. Washer/dryer combo machine works well - just a bit small. You will have to do a load of laundry every day to keep up. Back patio is great. Quiet neighbors. Beds were comfortable. Property manager very responsive to requests.
We were to pleased with this Columbia Heights apartment. The beds were comfortable and the apartment had everything we needed.
We cooked breakfast every morning and the kitchen was very well stocked with pots and pans and utensils. It was in the 90's and the
AC was great. The beds were comfortable and the apartment was very clean. My husband was attending a conference in Woodley Park and the metro was so close for him and great for us to get to all the sights in DC. The grocery store was right around the corner and there were plenty of restaurants within a few blocks. We enjoyed diversity of the restaurants and the food was excellent. Prior to our trip I spoke with the management a couple times and she was very helpful. A parking permit is provided for a small fee and we were able to get a parking spot right in front of the apartment. Be sure to read the parking signs since the street cleaners come on certain days so you may have to move the car once.
We use VRBO often when travelling and this was one of the best.
We were very happy with the rental and the reviews were accurate as to issues encountered. The location was great! Grocery, laundry and restaurants within two blocks. The metro was also very close along with a drug store and many places to grab a beer or glass of wine. A few items would make the stay a little better, light switch in upstairs hallway was on the other tenants side and was often turned on and off at unwanted times of the morning or late evening: a sign letting other tenants know about switch would be an easy fix. The door at top of stairs locked from the outside and we accidentally locked our children upstairs and they panicked in the early morning when trying to come downstairs, this could also be a very dangerous fire hazard. The washer/dryer combination took a very long time to dry and was hard to understand, a note explaining how to use would be helpful, we did all laundry at a laundry mat one block away, this was easier than waiting for the one in apartment to dry and open. The door into the unit opens into the master bedroom, this was not a big deal because we were just there for breakfast and sleeping, the only thing is this being the entry door for the apartment(not the building, which was very secure) the door was an interior door and did not feel secure. if the upstairs tenants did not lock the front two doors, which happened on two occasions, a stronger door or a second lock on the inside would be better. Parking was not an issue, we often found parking within a block of the apartment and the parking permit came within one day of arriving. It would have been nice to be told about Tuesday being a day our car could not be left on the street for cleaning. The apartment was very clean and the kitchen was very nicely equipped to cook meals. Overall, I would seek out this apartment again if I was visiting DC in the future. One more thing, the air conditioner kept the apartment very cool, this was very nice when walking in 95 degrees all day. Check out the pizza place two blocks from the rental. I would totally tell friends and family to use this rental. Property was kept clean and well maintained. Thanks for the great stay!
Located in a nice residential diverse neighborhood with a bustling commercial area of restaurants, stores, farmers market and shopping just steps away!
