Duplex Apt Home, 2 Bedrooms + Den, 2 Baths (Sleeps up to 6)

Towels and Linen are provided FREE of charge. Dishes, Pots and Pans, cooking utensils are also provided FREE of charge. Sometimes the owner is able to provide a small bar of face soap and miniature size shampoo and body lotion also FREE of charge but feel free to bring additional items and/or purchase more at the Supermarket just steps away from this home.

This home is at the Columbia Heights METRO

For such a reasonable price, your family will enjoy a lovely apartment home which boasts of 100 year old hardwood floors with all the necessary furnishings designed to make your stay a memorable one. This home is spacious with the master bedroom approx. 360 sq ft. The yard is a whopping 1,000 sq.ft. This home is located in the northwest quadrant of the city in the revitalized neighborhood of Columbia Heights. The METRO Subway train, which is about 2 city blocks (a 2-5 min. walk) is perfect for touring Also, in this residential neighborhood, you will find local shuttle services that may be boarded one block away and these shuttles go to many tourist sites. There are bicycles for rent to help you get your exercise and tour the city for pennies. The rentals are reasonable and no worrries about storing these bikes. There are many bike secure stops nearby the tourist areas where you simply mount the bike and rent another one upon your departure. The bike rentals are located in front of the grocery store. The grocery store is open from 6am until 11pm. This makes it convenient to purchase groceries and bring them to this well equipped home to pepare your meals. Every Saturday, local farmers sell their products in the town square in this neighborhood. Taxi cabs are readily available in this residential area as well as directly around the corner in the commercial area. There are also airport shuttles that frequent this area to get you to Dulles Airport or Ronald Reagan Airport.

There are over 25 restaurants located within a 3 minute walk of this duplex. To the east of this property, within a 3 block radius there are about 6 sidewalk restaurant/bars.

The 'Gala Theater,' provides live entertainment, The World Sports and Health Club provides an outlet to exercise and has an Olympic size pool as well as Basketball courts. There are two wonderful Day Spas in the commercial area not far from the metro train. A 24 hour pharmacy named 'CVS' is in this immediate area. The METRO train is by far the most popular attraction in this revitalized area. There is a wealth of variety in places to eat. The types of restaurants include, Ruby Tuesdays, Chipotle, Subway, Five Guys, Panera Breat, IHOP, Panda Express, Pete's Pizza, Starbucks, and local mom/pop restaurants that specialize in Italian, Chinese, Thai and other international cusine. During the summer months, the townsquare features artwork is on display, local music groups and other free performances. Often children enjoy dancing in the fountains and cooling off in the water while the parents enjoy the night air. There is a large supermarket, named 'Giant' if you decide to cook in the lovely remodeled kitchen in this lovely home.

This apartment home is a duplex style apartment on the 1rst and 2nd floor (back portion of the building). Please note there is a 2nd floor apartment home at the front of the building. There is a master bedroom with a Comfortable King Size bed, a bath/shower, a large kitchen, a laundry room, a porch with table, chairs and an umbrella. In the kitchen are steps that take you up to a bedroom with a queen bed, and a den with a set of bunkbeds and a full bathroom . The den has 3 large windows that look out to the beautiful greenery in the yard. The King Bed in the master bedroom on the first floor is not the only bed equipped with fine linen. All four beds in this duplex unit is tastefully designed with pure white, Egyption cotton linen. There is a 26' flat screen television in the second floor bedroom.

This beautiful home is truly immaculate, comfortable, and affordable. It is decorated and designed to embrace the tired traveler.

I am the Property Mgr. and I am originally from Philadelphia (The City of Brotherly Love). I have thoroughly enjoyed living in Washington, DC for over 25 years and plan on retiring here. I continue to enjoy the tourist sites and the many interesting and historic places that Washington DC and nearby Virginia and Maryland have to offer. I love bumping into famous people here like Senators on Capitol Hill and even see the President's and Vice President's motorcade racing through the city. Since this property is conveniently located near the METRO, it truly simplifies travel to the numerous sites. For example, the White House, The Smithsonian Museum, The Kennedy Center, The Spy Museum, Mount Vernon and countless other places. My desire is that my guests will experience the joy that I have experienced, while staying in a very comfortable home. My desire is to provide an immaculate home with fine accessories at an affordable price. My ultimate goal is that my guest will consider staying in my home each and every time their visit brings them to the Capital City. Washington DC has been my home since 1986 and I do enjoy such a transient city where one has the opportunity to meet so many people of so many diverse backgrounds. I take great pride in living in The Capitol City where one has the opportunity to bump into law makers, senators, diplomats, students from all over the world and many other interesting people. My 20 plus years living in Washington DC has provided me the opportunity to provide a comfortable home in a convenient location at a reasonable price.

What makes this apartment unique

This Home is equipped with the following amenities: Iron and Ironing Board, Shopping Cart, hair dryer, coffee pot, toaster, microwave, few periodicals (compliment of the owner other valued guests), umbrella, fine china and many other items for your convenience. The home is located on a residential street that is conveniently located only one block away from a vibrant commercial area. There is a Marshalls, Target, Star Bucks, Ruby Tuesday, Five Guys, Day Spa, Radio Shack, Federal Express, Staples, Hair Salon, Sports Store, The Washington Dance Institute and other places of interest. The home is located on a major thoroughfare that is heavy with traffic heading downtown DC in the mornings yet it is a street that grows quiet in the evening and night. There is a lot of foot traffic with friendly neighbors who walk their dogs and many cyclist who utilize the bike path. The Columbia Heights Metro is located about two and a half city blocks from this location. It is a 5 minute walk (or less) from the apartment to public transportation.

On-Street Parking is available and there are two public parking garages in this neighborhood.

Bike Rentals and Grocery store steps away! Sidewalk restaurants on 11th Street, North West between Park Rd. and Kenyon St., North West. 14th St. between Park Rd. and Irving Sts, North West there are tons of stores, restaurants ,a health club, a Gala Theatre and the Washington Dance Institute. To name a few stores: IHOP, Ruby Tuesdays, Panera Bread, Panda Express, Starbucks, 'The Heights' (fine dining), Pete's Pizza (N.Y. style pizza), Yoghurt Stores, Vegan Restaurant, GIANT grocery store, a Farmers Market where local farmers sell fresh produce every Sat. morning at the Town Square located at 14th and Park Rd. There is also a Marshalls, Target, Payless Shoes, the Sports Zone, a 24 hr. CVS Pharmacy and many other stores for your shopping pleasure.

Great old apartment, perfect location.

This apartment was clean, inviting and had plenty of room. Fully stocked kitchen. The location was PERFECT! I've given this 4 stars because of the confusion of the pass-codes/lockboxes and entry instructions. It all worked out fine, but frustrating to start our weekend. Also, there are so many signs about being quiet I felt very self-conscious about communicating at a normal volume.

Overall it was a great place and we would stay again.

Great place, excellent location

The management and staff were easy to contact and the apartment was clean, warm and inviting. The location is excellent! You are within walking distance to the Metro, a shopping center and multiple bars and eateries.

We would definitely stay again!

Beautiful & clean property

The property was very clean & the manager was extremely helpful. It was 3 blocks from the metro & there were numerous restaurants when

we exited the metro station which was nice after a long day of walking. We were 4 adult women, so the two full baths were great in the morning.

I would definitely use this duplex again!

Enjoying City Experience

Plenty of room for a family of four. It has everything you need to make your stay complete, utensils, dinnerware, coffee grinder, tea kettle, pots, pans etc.trash cans, TV's, washer/dryer. Easy walk to Metro station and grocery and department stores, coffee shops, fast food and trendy late night social spots. The Coupe is a must to go for breakfast, or drink!

Great management communication.

Four stars given due to not having the correct information to access the property upon arrival, two doors that I feel should have deadbolt locks on them and with all the signs up that state to be quiet makes you paranoid your always loud especially given your in a 110 year old building where everything creaks and is noisy.

I highly recommend, if your an adventurer and the experience of city living you can not go wrong at this property.

We truly enjoyed our stay:)

Great location, good accommodations, clean, very good property manager

This is a really good place to stay if you are in the DC area. Kitchen is fully stocked. Washer/dryer combo machine works well - just a bit small. You will have to do a load of laundry every day to keep up. Back patio is great. Quiet neighbors. Beds were comfortable. Property manager very responsive to requests.
