Great experience, everything was there that I needed for the house. Mattresses on the bed were on the firm side, owners should consider mattress topper or softer mattresses.
Quiet neighborhood, family oriented. I enjoyed
Pros: extremely friendly and helpful maintenance guy, quick deposit return, great location, clean home that felt new, good living/dining furniture, nice floor layout, quiet-as-a-mouse neighborhood, good location, responsive to problems on site, nice laundry
Cons: So-so kitchen amenities (not gourmet, limited, with so-so pans, flimsy plastic cooking utensils and salt/pepper/a few spices) and the most uncomfortable beds (rock hard master - awoke with aches each morning as a side sleeper - plus a 2" thick guest futon you can feel wood slats thru, and noisy, unsupportive twin. Didn't try bunk) and noisy pillows (felt like cross between plastic and springy foam). Also even tho listing advertises 'Fire Pit', it is disabled and the house book specifically says "no fires outside". Gas BBQ is large, but old and unreliable, tho we did get it to work.
Overall: Nice home, but felt like a lot to pay for bad sleeping and cooking...
I had to book this very last minute do to a schedule change- probably would only again if I had no alternative. I have always been satisfied with the other agencies(paradise retreats&invited home) on the homes meeting my expectations. I feel the quality of the home does not equate to the price. The booking procedure was excellent with your agency and very responsive during my stay. I found the kitchen not well stocked--no baggie, Tupperware, etc.... the mattress in the master was below par and the 2nd bedroom looked worse and would be unacceptable. I also think it should be posted on the website that the washer/dryer in the garage. The lock box was temperamental, the gate for the garbage area was not working forcing me to empty the garbage from the previous guest, lift the container over the gate(which was not easy)and then put garbage back in to roll to curb. A guest should not have to deal with anything during their stay if I house is properly inspected, cleaned and ready for the next renter.
On the positive, the family room and table were nice and the backyard very spacious. I'm not sure if this is an isolated incident with your agency and homes you offer since this is my first booking with you. I am a very experience renter in Santa Barbara and Have a home rented for 3 months this summer.
It was a pleasure dealing with Maggie at the rental agency. Location was convenient, approx 20 minute walk to beach and a few minutes drive to grocery store. House had a large beautiful backyard, great for hanging out, but the BBQ grill needs replacing as parts of the grill are falling apart. The lower bunk queen bed in the guest bedroom is actually a futon, so not very comfortable--we ended move moving the mattress to the floor to sleep on.
Photos of this house are very accurate. The house was immaculate. The yard is like another room of the house. We stayed outside a lot! Barbecue is wonderful! A very lovely, quiet neighborhood. Great kitchen with nearly everything we needed, good supplies of soap, tissues etc. The beach is a few blocks away. The bikes were fun too! The rental agency handling the details of renting this unit was absolutely outstanding, answering questions, following up, helping in any way to make our stay a good one.
