About Jessica

We are a Maine born and bred family who've owned this vacation property for the past 20 years. Our busy lifestyle, owning and operating a golf course in Central Maine, approximately 3 hours away doesn't allow us to enjoy this property as much as we'd like. For this reason we've opened up the property to vacation renters hoping that they will be able to enjoy what we so seldom do.

Why Jessica chose Downeast and Acadia

The damatic views are breath taking and local community is about as friendly as you'll find anywhere. We personally chose this community because was a terrific place to bring our children when they were growing up. They were able to explore for hours while we had the peace of mind that they were safe.

What makes this cottage unique

The cottage is a true get away from it all. Once at the property there are no other houses within view. Watching the crashing waves, tides coming in and out and local lobster men fishing only feet from the shore provides us with one of the most peaceful sanctuaries we could ever imagine.

otherworldly beautiful

  • 5 of 5

It's really rare to stay in a place with such complete privacy and beauty outside and have the inside of the house so comfortable and well equipped. Even on the foggy/rainy day the view with all the windows is just wonderful. We took a trip to the Schoodic peninsula (much less touristy than the Bar Harbor area of Acadia) and hiked the trails, bought lobster at the Winter Harbor co-op on the way back. Another day trip was to the Great Wass Nature preserve where we walked the "Mudhole" trail. We easily could have stayed another week, and plan on it- hopefully next year. Jessica was just a pleasure to work with and the place was really way beyond our expectations.

Oceanside, panoramic views from inside & out

  • 5 of 5

Located in a beautiful, remote spot perched up on a little cliff, this home affords proximity to many easy/moderate hiking trails near the shore. The house is filled with natural light and a glorious, ever-changing view. One bedroom plus a sleeping loft and a nicely open downstairs space. NIce appliances and house is fully equipped for a relaxing oceanside vacation. An eagle flew by, a porcupine stopped by most afternoons and deer were nearby. An 11 mile drive to nearest store so it's a good idea to bring/get what you need for your stay, but also easy to re-stock there or in Jonesport. Many working lobster boats visible from the view. When night falls, if no wind, it is totally silent.

Heavenly little cottage! !

  • 5 of 5

We couldn't have asked for a more perfect cottage to stay in. It was super clean, and so comfy. The views were spectacular. The owner was so nice and helpful to deal with, and the stay was all we could have hoped for. We are already planning another stay! ! So many things to see and do we ran out of time. Wild Blueberry Land's fresh picked berries and Acadia are a must, plus enjoying the spectacular sunrises on the deck! Thank you for the use of this wonderful place!

Beautiful location and accomodations

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful location for renewal and quiet where you benefit from the sense of being away from everything but near enough to get groceries, lobster, and northern coastal Maine destinations. The property is very well-maintained with responsive owners.

The best!

  • 5 of 5

The location was absolutely magic! Coming from the west coast to this place is one of the best vacations ever. Relaxation was the key. Close to the tourist hub if we wanted. Highly recommend! A BIG thank you for sharing this piece of paradise.

If you're looking for a place to relax and get away then our cottage offers your ideal setting! The cottage is relatively remote. There are only a couple of other houses on the road where we're located. Once you're at the property you can't see any other houses within immediate view. There is a nature trail about 3/4 mile long, which follows the water very near the cottage. There is also a local lobster co-op where you can buy lobster right from the boat. Upon reserving the rental we'll provide directions to the co-op as well as other local attractions.
