Apartment, 2 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4) 975 sq.ft.
Your host, Ron, has decades of experience in hospitality, as the owner of one of Seattle's most beloved restaurants. I expanded into home renovation during 2010 as general contractor as my wife and I brought our 1967 home into the 21st century. We updated every inch of the home and are comfortable on the first and second floors of this three story home. We especially love the location, the feeling of being in the forest as we gaze out on the wooded garden and watch the birds.
Ron purchased this Apartment in 2010
Why Ron chose Hawthorne Hills
We have lived in Northeast Seattle for years, but especially enjoy this home for its tranquil setting combined with easy access to everything we love. We can be in the Cascade or Olympic Mountains, on Puget Sound, or the San Juan Islands in no time. Our community is diverse, urban, literate and comfortable.
What makes this Apartment unique
We adopted the Pacific Northwest as our home many years ago, have raised our children here, and are now ready to share our community with visitors. We trust you will leave Seattle as smitten as we are!

Clean. Great location. Everything you could need - even some cold drinks to start you off. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Thank you!
All we were hoping for, and then some!
Amazing place! Beautifully furnished, sparkling clean, well appointed with everything you need, great location close to U of W. Great for fitness enthusiasts as it backs up to 17 mile hike & bike trail. Hope to be back soon!
Seattle Dream at the Woodland Retreat
We have stayed at many VRBOs and AirBnBs - Ron's place is a tie for the best. Incredible attention to every detail in the entire space which includes the outdoor retreat. We enjoyed cooking the fabulous seafood on the grill and sitting around the fire pit. Everything was easy to do. Building a fire can be a chore, but lighting a gas fire pit takes 10 seconds. You can't beat the location, there are two main streets that take you everywhere you need to go. If you are calling Uber for a quick ride to the waterfront and Pike Place market be ready because they arrive in under 5 minutes. It takes less than 5 minutes to get to the light rail station. The beds were really comfortable, we were able to keep the windows open. It is a quiet and safe neighborhood. Ron gave us a tour of the property and showed us how to use all the outdoor equipment and indoor appliances. To me this tour is important. I have been in many places and you either spend time trying to use things and not being sure or just give up and do without. I highly recommend the Woodland Retreat.
Always comfortable and made welcome here. I think we've now stayed here 9 times, which speaks volumes
A Perfect Place with Endless Amenities
This stunning two bedroom apartment is comfortable, clean, and so well supplied it's like being home. Ron, the owner, even filled the refrigerator with water and cold drinks to launch our stay. He gave us a gracious welcome and promised to bring anything we might need. Big kitchen, kitchen bar with stools (cozy for family gatherings) giant washer and dryer, and plentiful outdoor areas in the big backyard. There's even a gas firepit for our use. The inside is beautifully decorated with interesting art. There are games, books, and every possible Seattle guidebook, map , and bus schedule. We wanted to move right in. A woodland environment, but an easy walk to restaurants and stores, including the magnificent Metropolitan Market.
Thank you Ron.
Thanks for your warm welcome and kind hospitality. The unit surely met our expectations; spacious, clean and well appointed. Great location too considering much of our activity was around the UW campus and that allowed us to walk to most events.
We'll be in touch to again on future visits to the area.
