About Mike or Linda

This is a picture of Mike and Linda with our 4 beautiful Grandaughter's.

We bought this place as a cottage and renovated it into a beautiful 2 br custom built ranch home. After we retired we lived here full time for a while but decided to move back to our hometown . We did'nt want to sell our little piece of heaven so we kept it and want to share it. This way we can have the best of both worlds. Thanks for checking us out we would love to hear from you. Mike and Linda.

Mike or Linda purchased this house in 2002

Why Mike or Linda chose Indiana

We came to the area from S.E. Mich . For years the Shipshe area was our favorite vacation destination with all the things to do and see. We cant get over some of the bargains you come across while shopping. Still today we never grow tired of visiting and cant wait for the next trip to Shipshe.

What makes this house unique

The Lake and access is just steps right out the front door and the view is amazing. South Twin is not only a beautiful blue lake, it is one of Indiana's cleanest. You can fish and swim from the dock, pontoon boat or off the land. We have 2 Kayaks and a 12 ft rowboat included with your stay so you can explore the beauties that South Twin Lake has to offer or try you luck at fishing. Watch for a Soaring Eagle swooping down to catch a fish. Or a Otter that loves to swim along Kayak as though he wants to play. From the quiet serene back yard patio you can view a abundance of birds that visit our feeders. Pileated Wood Peckers, Baltamore Orioles, blue birds, and a host of unique birds. The Finches are so tame they let you sit right there while they feed. Humming birds are frequent visitors with 4 or 5 at a time fighting over the feeders. Fish Spieces generally caught are Bluegill, Perch, Crappie and Bass. The Indiana State Record Smallmouth Bass was caught...........You guessed it. South Twin Lake is a private lake, it also is one of Indiana's cleanest. South Twin Lake has no public access and is a 10 mph lake where no jet skis or speed boats are allowed, this makes the lake less congested and much safer. . It is extremely clean and spring fed . Its 115 acres around and 55 ft deep in the middle. During the summer months the lake very warm around 85 degrees.

Heartland get away

  • 5 of 5

Hubby and I rented this great little get away to celebrate our 23 yr. anniversary. It was perfect! Very cozy, clean, well stocked, nicely decorated and so very peaceful. As VRBO owners our selves, we understand the commitment to the the renters and Mike and Linda went well beyond the norm. Would very much to return to this wonderful location in the heart of the Amish country side.

Beautiful Little Cottage

  • 5 of 5

So glad we found this little gem! Beautiful inside and out. The house is so clean and comfortable. Loved sitting outside just enjoying the landscaping and watching the birds. The Pontoon boat is also very clean, comfortable, and runs great. Just wished I could have stayed longer. Why stay in a one room motel when you can enjoy this adorable home after a day of shopping in Shipshewanna, which is only 15 minutes away..Thank you so much for sharing this property. We will be back!

FABULOUS ACCOMODATIONS

  • 5 of 5

Wow! My step father, Jerry and I needed a place to stay on our way back from Pennsylvania and we enjoyed every moment at this well maintained cabin/cottage. The King bed was so peaceful and restful. The songbirds and flowers outdoors. The patio and cooking set up was excellent. The Perch deep-fried EXCELLENTE! The lake is very clean and swimmable. The sunsets and natural setting amazing. The whole neighborhood was quiet by 11 pm and made for a good night's rest. Mike and Linda are friends and great owners! I will perch at the Nestled Inn again soon! Jon B and Jerry P

Owner's Response: Thank you Pastor Jon for the Fabulous review. I think you highlighted our property and surroundings perfectly. I am especially glad your sleep was un- interrupted, quiet and peaceful after such a long drive. We are so glad you are going to come back to perch for a couple of days. Two thing we hear all the time from our guests is they want to return or the wish they had more stay time. We are totally excited that you are going to return in August. Take care....God bless. Mike and Linda

Very relaxing and free of stress!

  • 5 of 5

You certainly thought of everything for your guests! NEXT time we won't need to bring quite as much. Loved you sharing your home with us. And renting the pontoon was an added bonus! We felt spoiled! Thanks so much Mike and Linda. Hope we left everything in proper order.

Owner's Response: Hi Mark and Pat thank you for your reply. We are glad you had a great stay and enjoyed the property and lake. We love that your elderly Mother in-law at was out and about and even out on the pontoon boat , she left us a note saying " I have traveled throughout the U.S.A. and never have found anything this nice, Tell her we thank you for that compliment. That truly raises the bar! As you said we have the home well supplied and tried to think of everything one would need. About the only thing we forgot was a slow cooker , we now are looking to get one...lol. Thank you for the tips on the life jackets we now are going to be keeping them in the living room closet where they will always be nice and dry. Hope to see you next year...Mike and Linda.
