Thank You Robert, for a lovely stay at your lake house. My husband and I came to Alabama, to visit his Mom and brother for the Thanksgiving holiday. When we visit, we always rent a lake house, so our visit can be a vacation for everyone. And we were not disappointed this year. First of all has Robert been very accommodating prior to our stay, in doing all he could to make our visit as easy as possible. And we greatly appreciate this. His communication was clear and kind. We arrived at the house in the dark, but all was set up to easily find our way in. Opening the door made us feel straight away at home and at ease. The house is lovely decorated, and the furniture is comfortable. The house is well maintained, and you can feel and see that there is pride of ownership. Initially we were a little disappointed to have only outside access to the below bedrooms and sun room, but this turned out to be fine. For my husband and I it actually turned out to be an advantage, as we could keep our sleeping area cool and unheated, which we prefer for a good night sleep. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you need to make a good meal. The slight sloping lot made for an easy walk down to the boat dock, and the lake is deep enough to be still on a good water level even during the winter months. We were very lucky with the weather and were able to use the outside furniture on several occasions, to soak in the beautiful view of the lake and the peaceful setting of the house. This house will definitely be on our list for our future visits home. Thank You again Robert, for your time and effort, and for sharing your lovely lake home with us. Much Aloha to You and your family!
The house was cute and the location nice, with a view of the lake. However it could have been better stocked, i.e. bring your own towels, washcloths, toilet paper, paper towels, etc. I didn't even mind bringing our own towels, etc. although I have never had to do so at any other place I have rented from VRBO. Biggest issues were cleanliness. The toilets had feces in both bowels and either blood or feces on the bottom of one of the seats. There were 5 spiders along with their webs in the shower, which we had to chase out prior to use. The dishwasher was completely full of dirty dishes, which we had to run and empty. The fridge was not wiped out well, and still contained an expired pack of lunch meat. Every window, inside and out, was filthy and lined with spider webs. Almost every corner, doorway and every light downstairs was covered in spider webs and there were spiders everywhere. The shower downstairs was in disrepair: crack in the floor that would pinch my heel each time I stepped in it. Most concerning was the owner's reaction when I brought the above to his attention. He pretty much accused me of lying, EVEN THOUGH I INCLUDED PICTURES WITH MY EMAIL. And he refused to refund even a portion of my cleaning fee, even though I had to clean the place before we could use it. His reaction was unbelievable; completely unprofessional. I would never rent his house again.
Enjoyed it , will be back next year same house.
My husband and I recently stayed at Grape Nuts Landing with my parents, my brother and his girlfriend. We chose this location because it is about the same drive time from Mobile, AL and Nashville, TN so we met in the middle. There were 6 adults in this lake house and we had plenty of room. We cooked all our meals at the house. The view of the lake is beautiful and quite peaceful. We enjoyed swimming (well, really floating on rafts) and sunning on the floating dock. We had a wonderfully relaxing time. I could definitely see us staying at Grape Nuts Landing in the future.
My family and I have stayed at this home 3 times before and this coming month it will be our 4th time. We love the location both on land and water it's very close to everything. It has everything you would want for a night at the lake. I would and have told others about this great place.
My friends and I have stayed here on several occasions. We love it here! It is very quiet and secluded. Located on deep water with a great dock and is an awesome fishing spot! House is emaculate with great views!
