We are a family of water sports enthusiasts including Scuba, Snorkelling, Waterskiing, Wakeboarding, Tubing, Swimming, Fly Boarding, & Relaxing to name a few. We also enjoy Golfing, Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball, Baseball, Hockey (Ball Hockey & Roller Hockey will have to do - no ice here). We love fishing, kayaking, boating, biking, sailing, working out whether at a gym, the beach, or Yoga & Tai Chi on our balcony. Exercise and the great outdoors are a big part of who we are & our Villa's were made for people who enjoy the same. When we drove into the driveway of this property and stepped out of the car, we knew instantly this was the place. It is so peaceful and tranquil. You can hear the birds chirping and feel a nice tropical breeze. The main house is 1600 sq/ft with a 300 sq/ft screened in porch. The balcony wraps across the front of the Villa and around the east side with stairs down to the main grounds. We wanted to have a boat one day and this property allows us to dock a boat without paying marina fees. The swimming is great. There is so much salt in the water you can float forever. The kids love fishing and we love lying on the dock and looking at the stars. The property is in the perfect location off Leeward Highway at Turtle Creek Drive. Kate & Joselyn purchased this house in 2008
This is such a peaceful oasis! The canal is great for swimming, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding and we love laying on the dock at night with a glass of wine and looking at the stars! The boys & thier freinds love jumping on the water trampoline & then into the water to cool down. The Canal leads to the south side of the island so we can park a boat at the dock. High elevation and nice tropical breeze. We love the architecture of the Caribbean Wood Beamed Ceiling and Wrap around screened in Porch. We are in the Real Estate, love Scuba Diving, Watersports and the Hospitality Industry and love the location in central Provo, it is close to everything by car. Quick jot from the airport, turtle cove marina, IGA, Grace Bay Beach, Blue Haven Marina in Leeward or Chalk Sound, Sapidilla Bay Beach, Long Bay Beach, The Conch Shack Beach, or Malcolm Beach and so on. There is lots to see and do. Joselyn or I will greet you at the Villa with ice cold caribbean refreshments to quench your thirst as we show you around the property. We provide our helpful island guest directory with Top 25 List of things to do, places to go & more. We have a wealth of island knowledge and are happy to answer your questions prior to your arrival and during your stay.
This property is so amazingly quiet and beautiful. The lush landscaping, mature trees, the canal, it is so peaceful. A beautiful tropical breeze blows through the property most days and we just love relaxing in a hammock and reading a good book in a chaise lounge or simply having a siesta. It is so convenient to go for a swim off our very own dock and sunbath in private. There is a water trampoline to tire out the kids, great exercise. There is shore power at the dock for music. We LOVE to BARBECUE just as much as we LOVE SEAFOOD, so we have a 3 burner WEBER Genesis Barbecue and often buy fresh fish from the boats or Provo Seafood. Visit the Lobster Pound, Provo Seafood in Five Cays and buy fresh lobster tails, snapper, grouper, mackerel, wahoo, whatever they catch that day or have on ice. The Caribean Lobster Tails puff up nice under the broiler and I promise you they are delicious. 2nd favourite to Bay of Fundy Lobster & Maine Lobster are the TCI Lobster Tails under the broiler with butter. The Palm Trees and flowering shrubs are beautiful. It is a very safe neighborhood and a great place to go for a walk. Their are neighbors on the street and all homes are very private. Complimentary Watersports Items & Beach Supplies including Kayaks, Stand Up Paddle Board's, Trek Bikes, Snorkel Gear, Zayak, Water Hammick, Boogie Boards, Beach Chairs, Beach Towels, Coolers are Provided. We have arranged an Optional 21 Foot Centre Console Boat Rental, 3 Seater Seadoo, Jeep Wrangler or SUV Rental at an additional cost. Referrals Provided as the Island was made for exploring it's natural beauty. Sweet Escape will make you feel at home in the Caribbean. Our guest directory will be emailed to you to assist you with your Vacation Plans. It contains useful information about the property and Island. You will learn so much more about the island by staying at the Villa and exploring. If you go to a different spot every day, you will meet amazing people and create your own favorite places.
This was our first time to TCI. We've vacationed at to other places around the Caribbean so do have something to compare to. We did like TCI very much. The beaches are the best and many to choose from. Roads are in good shape and easy to get around. Provo also seemed to be relatively safe.
In the past we've always stayed where we could walk to the beach so had some concerns with staying inland. However, being centrally located offered the option to explore different spots so each day was different. We agree with other compliments concerning the villa and responsiveness from Katherine and Josie. One thing to mention is Katherine's "30 Things to do on TCI". Just follow her instructions and you'll have a great vacation.
Some of our highlights:
* Bugaloos on Friday night
* Rotary Park beach access - park and a cut through to Bay Bistro, walk the beach and use the foot bath.
* Bay Bistro for dinner - a "must do" dinner at least for one evening.
* Sharkbite for dinner - Kate's guide mentions that you may see a shark. Well, we didn't expect to see Jaws, but we did. Oh my!
* Sapidilla Bay and beach. Water just seems to be warmer and calmer there.
* Snorkel from shore at Coral Gardens and Smith's Reef. It's free!
* Conch (and fish) Farm - very interesting.
PS - maybe the time of the year, but had no problems with bugs/noseeums/mosquitoes at all.
Nicely nested in a series of isolated villas in a canal supported neighborhood, the villa is bright, airy, clean and well stocked with everything possibly needed for an extended island vacation.
Josie and Kate were very kind, timely and attentive without intruding on our stay. The villa provides the quiet ambiance we desired away from the busy resorts. We rented the available vehicle and enjoyed the beach and resort amenities when and where we wanted. We recommend a vehicle for this vacation to explore and expand your venture.
The friendly locals, proximate activities, dining options and of course the villa ensures that TCI remains on our future vacation destinations.
* use the provided beach and swim gear
* attend the Thursday fish fry
* TCI is expensive - so use the furnished kitchen items & shop at the IGA to help out
* the Potcake beach dog walk was a nice touch of home
* recommend: Turks Kebob, Chinson,s Grill Shack and Kin Khao Thai were close favorites
We absolutely loved staying at Sweet Escape Villa. We were so excited to get there from the time we first looked at the photos of the Villa on VRBO to when we walked in the door and saw the Great Room in Real Life. We were so very pleased to arrive and know we had made a very good choice. The Villa is beautifully decorated, well maintained & very comfortable and clean. From the beautiful floor tiles to the Caribbean wood beamed ceiling it will not disappoint. The aqua slip cover sofa's, chaise lounge & chairs are in very good condition, super comfortable. I particularily loved the chaise lounge with the flamingo's on it. I laid their everyday, after exploring, to read the book I was enjoying. Their was a beautiful breeze every day, right in that spot, bliss.
My husband did all the grilling. He loved the Weber Genesis Grill. There were 2 full tanks provided, the utensils and grill were in excellent shape. There is a beautiful round glass table in the kitchen with nice new chairs and 3 square tables with 8 long beach dining chairs in the screened in porch overlooking the canal & dock. We loved dining on the screened in porch, it was a nice atmosphere, looking at palm trees and feeling like we lived there. We really wanted to stay forever. There are sunbrella cushions, nice taste in colours. We strapped a kayak to the top of the SUV - Katherine thought of everything, she even has Tie Straps to ensure the Kayak, Water Hammick or SUP"S are safely secured when transporting to Leeward to Kayak in the Mangroves or Chalk Sound to paddle on the most amazing turquoise, white water every. That is where they used to pan for salt, nice and shallow, beautiful mansions and we loved Las Brisas Restaurant and Pool Bar. The food & drinks were amazing and we were welcome to swim in the pool for a change.
The Villa property has beautiful mature trees all over. I think it is about 1 acre. The two tier dock has a dockside patio which we enjoyed late at night. Katherine was right about the bright stars. We saw so many shooting stars, the sky is incredibly beautiful.
We used the sup's in the canal, it was fun cruising around. It is very peaceful. It was nice to cool off in the water and check out the other properties along the canal.
Joselyn showed us the shed where all the beach chairs, snorkel gear, life jackets, helmets and other rental items are organized.
The lights are on timers so if we came back after dark it was well lit. Beautiful neighbours as well.
My husband & I, along with another couple arrived on island on Sept 24th, 2016. We were greeted by the lovely Joselyn who offered us ice cold Rum Punch to quench our thirst. She also gave us the recipe which we used daily. Lol
We rented the Jeep & the SUV because we were two couples and are interested in different things. So this gave us the freedom. The Jeep was so much fun. We put the top down & took one of the complimentary Stand Up Paddle Boards & Snorkel Gear to the beach for the day. Along with the fashionable beach chairs & a cooler for our drinks & snacks. The SUV the other couple used but we checked it out as we all went out for dinner it in one night. The AC was very cool, it was a 2009 and in very good condition, very clean with a liner in the back to protect it. The paint is in excellent condition, no chips or anything. Same as the Jeep, the paint job is excellent. Josie gave us a orthopedic seat cushion for the driver of the jeep as the padding is wearing on the left side but we compared the cost to rent from Rentabuggy.tc or Hertz vs renting the Navy Jeep and we saved over 1/2. It was better than expected. Mid week we rented the boat from Donovan. We were pleased to see the amazing centre console boat. It was black on the outside and white on the inside. Very clean and newer then the wahoo boat. We decided to hire Paul for 1/2 day to show us around to make sure we were comfortable with navigating in the beautiful turquiose ocean of tci. We were very pleased with Paul, he was a wealth of knowledge. We brought a cooler with drinks and a cooler with food and went to secluded beach, through the frisbee around, walked on the beach and then Paul took us to two of the most beautiful snorkel spots in Grace Bay. We took underwater photos and even with a captain it was a very romantic experience we will cherish forever. The next day we went out on the boat by ourselves and were happy we had hired Paul the day before as it is different then a Lake. I felt very confident manning the helm on Day 2 and we went around to Turtle Cove Marina and pulled up to Sharkbite for a break and then back to Blue Haven Marine where the boat was launched by Donovan. The Villa is well maintained, very clean, beautiful artwork, furniture & beds. The Villa is 10 Miles from the airport. 10 miles. The island is 18m long and 2 miles wide we saw planes in grace bay. We used AC at night in the bedrooms and slept very well. Don from Sotheby's has 2 dogs but no bother. Thanks You
We had a nice time on our trip to Turks and Caicos, and this house was in a convenient location. But the "villa" itself was mis-represented and not very clean, despite overly elaborate details of the place that we were given by the owner, Katherine. There are barking dogs on both sides of this rental, with one dog barking non-stop all day and night, making for a very unrelaxing and stressful time while we were in the house. Conveniently absent from the description of the villa is the fact that it is at the end of the airport runway, and planes take off very low overhead starting at 8am.
The dishwasher was broken, and dishes in the cabinets were unlean when we arrived, and drawers with utensils in them were extremely unclean. Our feet were dirty after walking barefoot on the floors. The refrigerator/freezer was broken in several places. The bed in one of the bedrooms was old and collapsed in the middle, and in the other bedroom the bed had stained sheets on it. Beach and bathroom towels were old and torn, not luxury as stated. One of the beach umbrellas there for our convenience was broken, and much of the snorkle gear and fins provided were not in any safely usable condition. The bounce trampoline was not inflated adequately to bounce on, and it just collapsed and dumped us into the water when jumped on. The villa was advertised as having a canal view which it did not. And the decking at the canal is in poor condition, with rotten supports and rusty nails sticking out in many places.
Their personal car and boat rentals were elaborate legal documents which never stated key things like the honest condition of the vehicles. Both SUV and Jeep were in the worst condition of any car we have ever rented anywhere in the world. We kept being told that the car rental and boat rental were really good discount deals, but we seriously regret renting them. We noticed other people with new rental Jeeps on all roads that we drove...new Jeeps with AC and functional 4WD which we could have rented from a real rental car company on the island for less than $150 more than the owner's old dangerous mosquito-filled rust bucket. We also regret renting the boat and captain -- our 8-hour tour with fresh conch salad turned into a 6-hour trip with no food or water, while watching other people getting gold-star treatment on snorkle tours to all of the same places we went, with music, water toys, functional gear, drinks and lunch included for $89 per person.
My husband and I stayed for a week in October for our honeymoon and were extremely pleased with the accommodations. We were greeted by Josseline, who was very helpful and explained all of the local hot spots and as well as showed us where they were on the interactive map that was provided. She provided a fresh jug of rum punch, some beer and bottled water for our stay. She also arranged a return cab to the airport for the end of our stay which was greatly appreciated. The rental came with absolutely everything we could have needed for a week in paradise including salt, pepper, spices, and kitchen essentials like tin foil, sandwich bags etc.
The guest guide that was provided was so helpful, we used it pretty much everyday to find our favourite beaches and restaurants. We really appreciated the work that went into that. The location was great, as long as you have a vehicle to explore the island. We took advantage of the kyaks and bikes that were provided as well. We never actually made it out of the canals on the kyak as it was a bit far for us, we kept getting too hot, but it was still fun to kyak down the canals. At first the bike tires were pretty flat but Josseline came right over to fill them as well as the water trampoline for us.
We have nothing to say but good things about this villa and would highly recommend it.
Kiteboarding in the Area. There is Room to Dock up to a 40 Ft Boat. Seadoo Rental, Centre Console Boat Rental or other Boat types with or without a guide. Also a Jeep or SUV Rental, if available, an additional cost but very reasonable. 4 Trek Bikes availalbe plus local bike shop rents bikes. Enough Snorkel Equipment for each of your guests available.
