About Ray or Janet Betka

We have lived in Colorado for 39 years, mostly in the Denver area, and moved to Water Dance 5 years ago. At first we lived in Water Dance all winter, and traveled in the summer, renting Water Dance to our vacation renters. We have 2 grown children, one in law enforcement and the other in health and wellness education. We also have 2 grandsons ages 12 and 14 who have moved with their parents from Colorado to Florida. We have retired from retail furniture business and followed our grandsons to Florida, residing there all winter and returning to Estes Park for the spring and summer. While vacation renters enjoy Water Dance, we live down the road in our travel trailer enjoying the beauty of the outdoors which is Colorado's specialty.

Ray or Janet Betka purchased this cabin in 2004

Why Ray or Janet Betka chose Rocky Mountain National Park

Janet's family in Nebraska vacationed in Estes Park every summer while she was growing up. We honeymooned in Estes Park, staying at Tiny Town Cottages, in 1968. We love Estes Park, Rocky Mountain National Park, and the whole atmosphere here.

What makes this cabin unique

One morning I walked out the front door and was greeted by a bobcat. Elk are frequent visitors. We watched the birth of a baby Elk last June right outside the cabin. A black bear ambled by while we were sitting in the gazebo with friends. The river is home to Mallard Ducks and of course Trout. Fishermen and kayaks and tubers are present in the summer. The nights are very dark and quiet and the stars are brilliant, the air is fresh.

Going into the property between storage buildings had the potential to be off putting, but it was completely a non issue. The house is great. The location is so convenient. 5 minutes to several park entries. Easy walk to town. The house was so comfortable and relaxing. We made breakfast, had perfect steaks on grill under gazebo. Sat by the creek and read and relaxed. Also could walk to town for meals and get pizza delivered. The beds were the most comfortable that I have ever slept on in a rental house. We saw elk and deer in our yard. It was quiet and was great to sleep with windows open. Ray was super responsive and helpful with any questions we had. The house was super clean and had everything that you needed. Our stay was 5 nights and the only problem was we wanted to be there longer!!!! Ray and Janet, thank you for making such a super vacation home available.

What a wonderful memory making vacation! The pictures on the website just don't give justice to this beautiful cabin. The owners are super nice and see to it everything is perfect when you arrive. It comes supplied with all you would need plus more. We roasted hot dogs and made smores in the fire pit right along the beautiful river. We also grilled steaks on the grill and ate in the gazebo. There is a wonderful hot tub we all enjoyed. Even the bed mattresses were of great quality and very comfortable. Needless to say we loved every moment of our stay! We will be back Water Dance and thank you!

Great location!

  • 5 of 5

We loved the cabin and the location. We were able to easily walk to many different places (Coffee on the Rocks, Fun City). Our kids enjoyed the hot tub, fire pit and having the river so close.

Christmas Getaway

Great place to stay for a little Christmas getaway. We went shoe shoeing in RMNP and then were able to go back and sip hot chocolate and coffee by the fireplace.

Great Family Place to Stay

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for 2 weeks. the house was great with all the items you need while away from home. Located a short walk - 5 mins - from the heart of Estes Park making for easy access to the town without the need to park a car.

We had Elk and Deer wander by as we sat drinking on the deck

You can not ask from more from a place to stay

Thank you
