Beautiful location for visiting family
We loved our time in Bennington, NH. We happened to pick the coldest week of the year. Our last day there, it was an unprecedented 15 degrees below zero with the wind chill. You could not tell while in the house. It was incredibly warm and comfortable. The roads were easy to maneuver, even with 20 inches of snow in the two weeks around our stay. The slopes at Crotched mountain were only 15 minutes away, and my two teenagers who are a novice skier and snowboarder loved it. The home does not have televisions, but does have great internet. We spent the evenings playing board games and doing puzzles. If renting only the main house, there is only one bathroom. I gave the house 4 stars instead of 5 for that reason. Sharing 1 bathroom with 4 people was a bit of a challenge, although we did make it through the week without incident. I would highly recommend this place for a stay during the winter months. It is postcard perfect.
We (three adults, a toddler and an infant) stayed in the main house for two weeks while we checked out the surrounding towns for an upcoming move to NH. This was a great home base location for us. The house had all the little necessities you need but don't think of for an extended stay. The home was clean, everything worked and we had no problems here. The only thing I would mention is that the staircase that leads to the top two bedrooms is narrow and steep. We had to change our planned sleeping arrangements to avoid my toddler and mother from having to go up and down. No biggie and we made it work for us by having them share the master bedroom downstairs while me, my husband and our infant stayed in the upstairs bedrooms.
The owners communicate quickly, clearly and are easy to work with.
If we had to do this trip over we would absolutely stay here again.
We were glad to have this house as a base for travel in the area, visiting family and friends in Concord, Keene and Connecticut. It was a convenient location for this purpose and a comfortable, quiet (!) place to unwind between trips. There was little time to enjoy the nearby environment except for a quick dawn hike up Crotched Mountain on the trail just a short walk from the house, and another quick visit at dusk to appreciate the swimming beach just a half-mile away. We could see that this would be a great place to call home on a ski vacation, or for a more relaxed summer itinerary. Highly recommended.
We had a great time!!! Very nice neighborhood. Lots of space for all us to relax and enjoy our time!!
peaceful and relaxing
we love it the fact NO TV perfect for not sitting around doing nothing .we played games as a family which was super, everyone was involved . needs some updating overall great ,
Perfect family reunion spot!
We rented both houses. They accommodated 12 of us very comfortably. The screened in porch was a lovely place to convene. We got some delicious Italian food from Rick & Diane's in Antrim. We rented paddleboards at EMS and spent hours kayaking, swimming, and paddleboarding on Lake Whittemore. We are fussy about our lakes because we all love to swim, and the lake was very clean and pleasant without motorboats! It has a pair of loons, and we saw an eagle and a great blue heron! The cottages are clean, beds are comfy, and the sleeping was good with cool NH breezes. You have all the amenities you need, everything from games, a kayak to a washer and dryer. All our guests said they would happily stay there again! Thank you for this wonderful setting for our family reunion!
We are glad you enjoyed your stay in Bennington and are happy you got to see some of the great wildlife. If you consider coming again, please note that we give a discount to returning guests!
