Modern lake home, 4 Bedrooms + Sleeping Porch, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 13). 30 acres.
Wow! Vacation homes like this don't come around very often. The Lady Slipper Lodge is modern and fully equipped with everything you will need. We are located in the heart of the Chippewa National Forest in north cental Minnesota just 3 1/2 hours north of the Twin Cities. It offers privacy and serenity on a 30-acre woodsy point between a 47' deep 80-acre lake and a 25' deep 60-acre lake. The Lodge is just 90' from the the lakes on both sides with a gradual slope. There is a lake view out of every window and nothing but forest as far as you can see.
The Lodge is the only home on one of the two lakes and it shares the other lake with only one other lake home. All the rest of the land all around both lakes is National Park, state or county land.
Our 30 acres are full of walking trails and the property is close to snowmobile trails and ATV trails as well. You would need to go miles to the north, east or west before you would run into another home. If you want to get away from it all, this is the place to for you.
In spring and winter it is advisable to have a 4-wheel drive to handle the 3/4 mile Forest Service road that leads to the Lodge.
Although we know that most young people are responsible, we prefer to rent to families and to groups of experienced adults.

About Tony J Elfelt
Denise and I live in Nowthen, MN, which is a rural community 45 minutes north of Minneapolis. We have three adult children and six grandchildren. Denise runs our auction company called AAA Auction. I am a lawyer and an auctioneer.
Tony J Elfelt purchased this House in 1992
Why Tony J Elfelt chose Slater
As a teenager, I camped and fished at Big Winnie quiet a bit. I loved to hunt grouse too and on our trips to Winnie when we drove through the Remer area, I always thought that I would like to have a place where I could fish and hunt grouse right out my back door. So when I began looking for a property, fishing, hunting and serenity were my main goals. I didn't want close neighbors and I wanted elbow room for kids, dogs, shooting guns and general revelry. I looked for two years before I found this property. My wife, Denise, allowed me to have my dream when we bought this property in 1992. At that time there was only an old tar paper shack with cracks in the wall that were so big birds could fly in. It was love at first sight. Quiet. Beautiful. Majestic. I could close my eyes and see all of the memories that my family and friends would make in the years to come ---and we did.
What makes this House unique
Although the Lodge is modern and comfortable with many amenities, the comment that we hear most often is how peaceful the Lady Slipper Lodge is. It is truly a rare piece of land. It is the only piece of private property on Lower Milton Lake and when you are there you will see more wildlife than you will other people. We cut many trails on our land and if you are more adventuresome, there are many miles of hiking and ATV trails right out the back door that lead deep into the Chippewa National Forest. While we don't have walleyes or a sandy beach, we do have great panfish, northerns and bass and a very nice beach is located on Little Sand Lake nearby. many people come to this area as well for deer hunting and its superb grouse hunting.

Excellent cabin on a beautiful piece of land with water front on both sides.
We had an amazing time at the lady slipper lodge! The fishing was great and our stay at the cabin couldn’t have been better. Beautiful view of the lake from the living room and a spacious upstairs made for a comfortable and relaxing time. Strongly encourage a stay!
Thank you. We are excited to be going ourselves this weekend to tap maple trees.
I'm glad you had a good time. Tony
Beautiful home situated in a great location. The house was equipped with everything you could want and even a pontoon boat to rent. Tony was very helpful and great to work with. We look forward to renting this home again next year.
Thank you so much for yhour kind review. We have many guests who return and we look forward to adding you to the list.
As far as the pontoon goes, I left it in the water for use this weekend. I hope I don't need to chisel it loose.
loved the peace and quiet, walks in the woods, played pool and ping pong, relaxed, very nice place,
Thank you very much for your nice words. "Peace and quiet" are indeed the best things about the Lady Slipper Lodge. Tony
OMG where to begin, we had such an amazing time at the lodge. Its a must go back vacation spot. Our weather was not perfect, but the stay was. There is so much to do there and it was so serene. The wildlife was amazing as well, and the lodge was just beautiful. Thank you for a wonderful vacation, we look forward to coming back next year. Thanks again the King Family
Thank you so much for your nice review. I am glad that you had a good stay at our lake home. Tony
Very private cabin with all the space and everything we needed for a group of 10.
Booked the cabin for a family snowmobile trip in February. The weather didn't cooperate, so we spent the weekend ice fishing and exploring the area. Despite the curveball the weather threw us, it worked out great. Fishing was good, the kids enjoyed exploring the trails, playing on the lake and playing ping pong.
The cabin had plenty of room for all 10 of us and was furnished with everything we needed for our stay.
Thank you for the kind words, Greg. I'm sorry the snow wasn't there for you, but I'm glad you had good luck fishing. You also mentioned you enjoyed exploring. That was one of my favorite things to do for years when I first bought the property in 1992. We would fill up our ATVs with gas and bring along more gas as well and just take off not knowing where exactly we were going. We often got "temporailly disorineted," but never lost.
I hope you can come back to more snow another time.
Incredible...luxury and comfort...secluded...with lakes on 3 sides.
I got a weekend stay at the ladyslipper lodge for my family for Christmas. Between my parents, my brothers family, and mine we had 9 people. We had more than enough room for everyone. The game room in the basement was great for the middle aged kids as we got to play ping pong and pool and make some noise as the young one slept up stairs. The cabin itself is well maintained, well laid out, and incredibly charming. We went up there with the intention of snowmobile riding however the warm weather did not favor us and the trails that weekend had gotten a bit icy. Please note there are very good trails and many of them in the area. However, we limited our snowmobiling and tried ice fishing where tony had recommended. He was spot on and we had enough luck that we'll be having a second family gathering for a fish fry. This is a great place and I highly recommend it for any number of activities. Thank You Tony.
Thank you very much, Joe. After reading your review, I want to drop everytyhing and go myself. Tony
The Lady Slipper Lodge is on a point, a stone's throw from two lakes. The main attractions are the executive-style home and the serenity provided by our 30- acre point surrounded by miles of Chippewa Forest on all sides. Fishing is great and most of the time you will be able to fish without seeing another soul on the lakes. There are also hundreds of miles of trails open to snowmobilings and ATV's. We also supply with the rental three canoes, two kayaks, two small fishing boats and ar paddle boat. A pontoon with a 40 -horse Merc is also available for $350 for the week. Also, after enjoying the magnificent sunsets, you may choose to visit one of the local taverns for some kareoke and refreshements or travel about 40 minutes from the lodge to a large casino in Walker, Mn.
