About Steve Epperson

I live in Fort Lauderdale Florida. I'm not able to make it to Costa Rica as much as I like but do really enjoy helping others discover the beauty of Costa Rica.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We wanted to thank you very much for the use of your villa. We had a wonderful vacation and stay at Villas Las Flores. Your villa is very well equipped and we lacked nothing. The large fan was a great asset as we were able to leave the a/c off except to cool off at night. Patrick and Miguel were very helpful. The monkeys came to visit most days. We would love to return in the future and will let you know once we have dates sorted out.

Downtown Parrita's restaurants are about a five minute drive away ( a short taxi ride) or there are the tourist oriented places in Jaco to the north and Quepos/Manuel Antonio to the south. Both are accessible by local bus from Parrita. Parrita also has two local groceries and there is an 'American' style grocery in Jaco that you pass coming to the villa from San Jose.

Small, quiet community, close to the beach.

  • 5 of 5

Villas las Flores is a beautiful, quiet community located just outside Parrita, Costa Rica. Playa Palo Seco is directly in front of rental house approximately 500 meters. There is a restaurant called Mar Y Sol about 1 minute from the rental and we brought yellowfin tuna that we caught in Quepos and they cooked it for us. The atmosphere is very relaxing and beautiful. I proposed to my girlfriend on this trip on the beach and she was extatic. I highly recommend Villas las Flores to anyone looking for a beautiful, stress free vacation. The owner Steve is very helpful as well as Patrick, the manager on sight. Thank you for the unforgettable experience.

Great time in a secluded paradise

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed in Palo Seco over New Year and it was just great. Secluded beaches, few people and an amazing variety of nature, plants and animals. The apartment is very well equipped and clean. Breakfast with Iguanas, Capuchins and many different birds is a wonderful way of starting the day. We can highly recommend the place as well as the service provided before and during the stay.

Nice quiet spot within walking distance of the beach!

  • 4 of 5

Wonderful little Villa community. Good for 2 people.

Location is slightly remote and not near your typical "bustling touristy area"

You can walk to the lovely black sand beach and we saw monkeys on 3 different days hanging around the area. There is a nice pool to swim in if the ocean is too rough or you just feel like a calm swim.

We would recomend renting a car if you're staying here and planning on doing significant sight seeing as the location is somewhat remote and we required a taxi to get us to and from to the bus terminal most days.

You can rent a car at the villa's administration and it will be brought to you which is nice.

Would definitely stay again. Great for a quiet beach vacation.

Nice clean retreat near the beach

  • 4 of 5

This place was a nice clean retreat for two. We enjoyed watching the iguanas fall out of the trees, walking on the beach, and being in close proximity to Manuel Antonio. Highly recommend it.

Perfect Stay

  • 5 of 5

My spouse and I stayed at this lovely little villa for two weeks and could not have been more pleased. If the house had been house smaller, in some stage of disrepair, and dirtier, and I still would have been satisfied, so it really exceeded my expectations and the price was perfect. The house itself is charming and comfortable, with AC, internet, and other luxuries, including a washing machine which was very helpful. As a couple who preferred to do our own cooking, the kitchen was a blessing--fully stocked with pots, pans, sharp knives and other implements, a large fridge with ice trays, functional stove and oven, and plenty of room to move around. Everything was clean well cared for and felt relatively new. The large windows in the sun porch were wonderful for wildlife spotting and letting the light in. The location of the villas was far enough off the beaten path to suit our desire for seclusion but close enough to town and city centers that we never had to go too far for needs like groceries, banks, tourist spots, etc. The Palo Seco beach is extremely close to the villas (about a 2 minute walk) and is beautiful, clean, and good for swimming (just watch for those rip tides), and the lovely pool at the villas was always open and was great for late night swims. The owner of this particular apartment was always accessible and helpful, providing accurate and detailed directions and information about the villa and surrounding areas, and the staff of the villas were always friendly and available for any needs we had. If we ever stay in that part of Costa Rica again we will absolutely try to stay here. We had a phenomenal trip due in no small part to our comfortable stay. I really have no complaints.

Amazing Stay in Costa Rica

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the condo the week of Christmas for our honeymoon. The condo is off the beaten path, safe, and still walking distance to the beach. Also includes a pool. Condo was clean and kitchen was equipped with plenty of utensils. We cooked most breakfasts and dinners at the condo. Loved that Palo Seco is secluded but still close distance to more tourist areas like Manuel Antonio. Highly Recommended!

Playa Palo Seco (also known as La Isla Palo Seco) is a relatively undiscovered beach 5 minutes from the working class town of Parrita. The beach is very private with black volcanic sand and large surfing waves and is perfect for endless walks or bike rides on the beach. The villa is located in an ideal location if you want to explore the Central Pacific on your own: its about 30 minutes to Quepos/Manuel Antonio & about 40 minutes to Jaco. Dominical is a little over an hour away now that the road from Quepos is completed.

Other Activities: Zip Line, ATV/4 Wheeling, Kayaking
