I am a world travelor close to retirement and have been a Real Estate agent my entire life. We fell in love with the elegance of Boca Raca and hope to make it our home some day.
Joel Hookerman purchased this apartment in 2010
we thought the construction and style were excellent and the sunsets and views are unforgetable. We enjoy underground parking and if the power ever goes off we throw a switch and wallah it's back on because of our emergency generator in the basement. It's a few steps from the beach and we can walk to everything. We have been coming to Guanacaste for years but Boca Raca is where we look forward to spending several months a year. However we still have to work to pay for our extravegence.
i feel like I'm in a palace. I love seeing the ocean out of every window and I'm one floor from the top. My apartment is huge and we built an island in the kitchen we love. evereything is open and it's dreamy when we sit on our Balconies (3) and just feel the breeze and shed all our stress. We're a few steps from the beach and we never need a car. We love parking underground and taking the elevator to our apartment. The developer is there a lot of the time with his family and i would desribeit as a "pride of ownership building". He says he spared no expense to provide the ultimate condominium expierience. its great.
What a terrific apartment -- great views, modern amenities, and tons of space. The apartment was clean and, most importantly, centrally located to accommodate all of our Tamarindo plans. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
We (young couple with 7 month old son) loved this condo - walking distance to the beach, groceries, lovely pool and in-suite laundry. Very safe town with a party/surfer vibe and lots to see and do nearby (ex. Ziplining, palo verde monkey/crocodile river tour, catamaran snorkeling, diving, turtle nesting etc). However we had lots of trouble with the manager Joel - we would not advise booking anything extra through him. He forgot to arrange our prepaid transportation from and to the airport, forgot to arrange our palo verde tour and that we had paid for it, and although he said his computer was not working (and that was the reason for us being stuck without anything organized) he still forgot to do things after we spoke face-to-face. So yes, we would recommend this property, but just book your own taxis and tours because that's what you'll end up doing anyways with this guy. And definitely save your receipts or you may have to pay twice. We hope the owners see this review because we were really disappointed with his work, and really had to micromanage him just to get our stuff arranged.
Absolutely wonderful! Our stay at Boca Raca was even better than we expected. The location is perfect, within walking distance to everything as it is in the center of town. The views are stunning from any balcony whether it be sunrise, listening to the howler monkeys or watching the magnificent sunset.
Joel was extremely helpful and graciously gave us several recommendations.
This was our second year in a row visiting Tamarindo. We have two teenage children and I think that between staying at the five star hotel which is what we did last year or renting a condo that the condo is hands down a better experience. It is spacious, modern and clean. You can walk to the market and get the most delicious fresh fruit and groceries. The kitchen has everything you need to serve meals.
My family surfs so we walked to the beach everyday but if you are looking for adventure Joel can coordinate tours also.
I will definitely be back next year.
This was our first trip to CostaRica and I am so glad we chose Tamarindo and to stay in Bocaraca! Joel is absolutely awesome and really went out of his way for us.. Bocaraca is a perfect location in the town of Tamarindo. It's a 2 minute walk to all the restaurants and beach and it really is a very nice place to stay! The howler monkeys around the property are an added bonus as well. Thanks again Joel for everything!!! Pura Vida!
Our first time in Costa Rica and we were so impressed. The property is wonderful and the amenities and location are first class! We loved our two weeks at Boca Raca and we liked being so close to everything. Amanseo (sp?) doorman was so wonderful and helpful. He hugged us goodbye!! Joel provided us with some awesome tips on places to eat, do etc. My husband and son loved surfing. The views were awesome and you can view the ocean from every bed:) The balcany was private and we enjoyed many dinners out there! We also had the option of eating out at some wonderful places. We are coming back!!! Thanks Joel! Rosie did an awesome job of cleaning and we appreciated the crisp fresh clean linens!!!
We arrived at the Condo after a very long day of travel and were greeted and welcomed by a very nice security man, who said "pura vida" to us every time we passed him, what a sweetheart. The views from the condo were so amazing, I took so many photos and videos of sunsets. You don't need a car to get around Tamarindo. Everything is within walking distance. There are a couple of markets very close by and I recommend you bring your own reusable grocery bags, we did, and it was so helpful. There is a restaurant at the end of the street called Patagonia. Joel recommended it to us, the food was amazing for a pretty low price. Joel also recommended a sail on the Antares, a two mast sailing schooner. So worth the trip, you won't be disappointed. We were served lunch and cocktails by Candice, who also runs the Antares with her husband and the ships captain. Her dishes were fabulous, not the run-of-the mill sandwiches. The beach is clean and great for sea shell hunting. Riding the surf was so much fun. We ate most of our dinners on the spacious terrace, grilling and watching the, what else, the beautiful sunset each evening, but there are really wonderful restaurants for dinner. Definitely want to go back next year.
