We were welcomed by assistant who took time to make sure all our questions were answered before leaving us. The apartment was very clean and was close to shopping, restaurants and grocery store, yet very quiet and peaceful. You can walk everywhere in Old San Juan from this location, but if you want to explore farther out, buses and taxis are close by. We recommend this unit for anyone looking for a true Old San Juan experience.
We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend the apartment. The location was excellent. The apartment was perfect for our needs. We enjoyed eating on the back patio and found the kitchen and laundry set ups helpful. We parked our car at a lot near the Paseo de la Princessa and enjoyed the stunning walk to the apartment via the Puerta de San Juan. However, it would be easy to enjoy a stay without a car since Old San Juan is so walkable. Everyone at Vida Urbana was helpful and responsive to our needs.
Irma was very helpful to find us this beautiful place in lastminute. Wanda was very nice too. The street is one of The principal street, very safe with everything very closed. Love so much the appartment with is local ambiance. Clean and sweet. Private Terrace for enjoy the first coffee ! Perfect place to stay in Old San Juan :)
What a wonderful way to see San Juan. The apartment could not be in a better location. Right next to the Governor's Mansion, San Cristobal fort, the walkway along the water and the city walls, and the historical main entrance to the city. There is also a children's museum right next door. Although we rented a car, we only used it for extended trips, as you can walk everywhere in the city from the apartment.
The apartment was in great condition and allowed us to save money cooking a few meals at home. It was nice to have access to a Roku system and Netflix for the occasional show for our three year old. Finding parking was easier than we had imagined. Irma was wonderful and graciously waited for us to arrive at 3am due to flight and car rental delays. The security deposit was also returned quickly.
You cannot go wrong with Vida Urbana and this property.
We have stayed in Old San Juan numerous times, usually at El Convento, but decided to try this apartment instead. It was enchanting. The location made us feel like we were really living there, enabling walking to galleries, restaurants, historic sites and other places. The balconies and back patio are charming. Our twenty year old son stayed with us this time, and we felt a perfect balance of individual and family space. Wanda and Irma were welcoming and helpful, and the restaurant recommendations were superb, especially Chic Bodega. Yes, the shower set-up is kinda funky, but it sort of adds to the ambiance. The kitchen set-up is wonderful also. Set in the perfect OSJ neighborhood for quiet and privacy, we truly felt at home.
The condo was so cute! In a beautiful location. Felt very safe staying right by the Governor and the port of San Juan. A lot of gorgeous views and places to watch the sunset. We didn't need a car and everything was walking distance ( i.e. food bars tours beaches). Irma was very helpful n easy to book with and meet when we got it. Will definately book with them again. :)
Stayed here in early June 2012. It's the most beautiful space - and in the perfect location. Everywhere in Old San Juan is a 10 minute walk/15 minute stroll from the front door.
It is a walk up but only a short floor up, very comfortable and perfect with the balcony windows open to a view of the street. We spent many nights (and mornings) sitting out there taking it all in. Very safe location, governor's house is right around the corner so there are people around making sure the area is safe at all times. Also around the corner from San Juan Gate, short walk to El Morro and all the beautiful places/stores/restaurants in Old San Juan. Perfect!
Wi-Fi is convenient, and Wanda (from Vida Urbana) happily met us on the day of check-in as planned and gave us a tour of the apartment, a map of the area and some handy tips of where to go for anything we needed.
What else do you need? washer/dryer, iron, everything is there. A/C is strong for those extra warm nights and the back patio is the perfect spot for breakfast. Such a charming place to stay, I even noticed people stopping outside to take photos of the house - very lucky to have stayed here during my time in Puerto Rico, much better than staying in a hotel.
People travel IN to Old San Juan from their city hotels because it's so beautiful and we got to stay in the heart of it.
