My family has been vacationing in this spot for 50 years. My parents had rented this cottage for many years. When it came on the market in 1987, my husband and I bought it, and we continued a multigenerational tradition of family fun on the coast of Maine. It has been a magnet for our family and friends of all ages who just love it here.

Love this area!!! Maine's rugged coast is spectacularly beautiful. The perfect spot for a restful getaway.
Our cottage is located in the village of Chamberlain on State Route 32, between New Harbor and Long Cove. Downeast Magazine has described this short stretch of road as "quintessential Maine Coast". A short walk will bring you to many fun activities. Walk over to the Salt Pond tidal pool just a few hundred yards south and sit on the rocks or take a cool dip in the "pond". Kids of all ages will have a blast! Walk a 1/4 mile further south to the working harbor, and eat a lobster or take a boat cruise. Or walk about 1/4 mile to the north to see Long Cove and the pleasure boats moored there. The pocket sandy beach at Long Cove is another great place for a dip or a float in the calm waters. It is also a nice landing for your kayak. Come back after your adventure and relax on the deck, hear the pounding surf and smell the fresh salt air, with miles of ocean view filling your eyes and your heart.
I didnt get a chance to write a review after our stay here in August 2014. The cottage is absolutely darling and the view is gorgeous. We loved everything about this place. My husband and I stayed here with our daughter and 1 year old grandson. We have vacationed on Pemaquid as renters for over 20 years and stayed in many different places, this cottage was by far one of the nicest places we have stayed. We like to stay in real cottage type houses and this place fit the bill. The place was immaculate. The owners have thought of everything in this quaint compact rustic cottage. We hope to be able to come back here soon.
My family and I returned today from a stay at this lovely cottage. It is EXACTLY as described. Spotlessly clean and all amenities listed, as provided, and communication with / from the owner was very good (quick replies). View of the harbor is wonderful. We can't wait to go back! I can't say enough good things about this little gem.
Can't think of anything more relaxing than watching the boats sail by from the deck of this perfect small cottage. Although the design is rustic, this was by far our most comfortable and well equipped rental yet in this part of Maine -- complete with a/c, washer/dryer, dishwasher AND surprisingly good water pressure! Although someone was staying in the larger cottage next door, we still had sense of privacy. We hated having to leave, and are planning to stay twice as long next year.
Waking to the sound of the surf each morning certainly brings me back. This was my second year staying at the Brooks' compound. I occupied the larger cottage last year and this year the smaller cottage was also perfect, very clean and comfortable. Pemaquid is the loveliest beach I have been to in Maine, there are a few scenic bike loops to choose from, great seafood (and ice cream!) nearby, views from the deck or screened porch are so calming...what more do you need on a vacation? A classic Maine lighthouse, historic sites, The Cupboard sticky buns are to die for, a day trip to Monhegan Island, Boothbay Harbor, a quilt shop in Damariscotta Mills and a great bookstore and About Face spa in Damariscotta all nearby...why am I going home?
This cottage is a perfect get away from the stresses of city living. Waking up every morning to the sounds of the ocean and some of the most amazing ocean sun rises you could ever see truly takes our breath away. My wife and I stayed at this beautiful cottage for our first anniversary and absolutely loved it. This spot is ideal for a little get away or even having your entire family up for a barbeque and beach adventure at the local beach. There are many amazing historical sites within walking distance and even more just a short drive or bike away. We know you will LOVE your stay at this incredible cottage.
I stayed here with my fiancée last summer, and we had such a great time. The place is well-kept, clean and comfortable, with great ocean views. It's a very close walk to the fisherman's harbor, the cove (with a little beach) and a very special tidal pool that you can wade in, and a close bike/drive to the town beach, historical sites, etc. But the best parts of all was just relaxing and sitting on the deck, and listening to and looking out at the ocean.
