House, 4 Bedrooms, 3.5 Baths, (Sleeps 4-8)
Eagles Nest at Daniel Point is a large (5200 sq ft) and beautiful home built on a bluff overlooking the ocean. The home was the PNE prize home for 2000 and sits on 3/4 of an acre with its own private cove. It has a large number of windows which look out on the views, an 18 foot ceiling in the livingroom, and all the finishings in the house are first class. There are three decks all facing west to enjoy the beautiful sunsets. The main level has a large and well appointed kitchen. There are three ovens, 6 gas burners, two refridgerators and two in-island coolers for veg and fruits. The mediaroom has a highend system with surround sound for great movie watching. The library is well stocked with a wide variety of books for a good read. The master bedroom has a wonderful king bed and the other three bedrooms have equally great queen beds. The gamesroom (1200 sq. ft) has a pool table, foosball, air hockey and a ping pong table (and a beer fridge-sorry, you have to fill it). Outside the gamesroom is a large deck with a hot tub. This is a great place to relax at the end of the day and watch the sun go down.
Outside there is a childrens play area with a slide, swing, sand pit and toys. Below the house is a large patio for sun tanning. And below that is a private beach with its own deck. There are three kayaks located there for guests to take out on the ocean and enjoy. There are many places to paddle. One place we like is a group of islands a short distance offshore which are the home for many seals and sea lions.
The beach itself is not sandy. Proper footwear is needed to walk on the stones. The water, even in the summertime, is not very warm but I like to take a dip on hot days. For swimming I would recommded going to one of the nearby lakes. They are very warm and pleasant in the summer.

Why Murray Stephenson chose Sunshine Coast A
We were particularly impressed by the natural beauty of the area and when we saw this wonderful home with such an incredible view, we decided to buy it. There isn't a day goes by that we don't pinch ourselves over how lucky we were to find this home.
What makes this House unique
The best thing about Eagles Nest is you can choose to be very active with a multiple of physical and mental activities or you can just sit on the deck sipping wine. You can watch the ocean with its many boats or the eagles as they soar overhead. Whether our days have involved hiking, kayaking, swimming or just sunning ourselves, we always have a very peaceful, contented feeling. (Almost sounds like a John Denver song doesn't it).

We had a wonderful family reunion at Eagles Nest. It had everything we needed for our Thanksgiving turkey dinner and the games room and hot tub were a great hit with the kids.
The Perfect Setting
We had a perfect stay at your house.
What was also interesting was the roof was donated to the PNE back in 2000 by us!
I recognized it as soon as we drove in.
A great house with a fantastic view...it doesn't get any better than that!
That roof has given us many years of great condition. Never a shingle gone with the big winds or storms.
Nice house, needs some TLC for sure.....!
At first glance we were impressed with the size and space the house afforded, however, immediately upon unpacking we found the kitchen to be dirty and even before putting away our groceries, we had to wash the refrigerator, stove, sink and counters. The afternoon sun revealed that the floors had neither been swept or cleaned. Also, the view is spectacular however, the windows were so dirty and with no blinds to take the late day, evening sun, we were blinded by how dirty the windows were throughout the house, not to mention how very warm it got even with the air-conditioning on full blast. First night dinner was to be BBQ'd burgers but the actual BBQ was not working and hadn't been cleaned as well. The Master bedroom shower was so dirty with mildew and upon turning the water on, realized it was not draining. Shame, such a nice house...sure needs some TLC. Suggestion: hire some good cleaners, the cob webs are taking over the place.
I am very sorry to hear that your experience at Eagles Nest was so negative. What I find surprising is that at no time did the guest contact me regarding the issues so that I could attend to them. The first I heard of any problems was in this review which was posted almost 2 weeks after September 1, their date of arrival. Equally surprising is the fact that so many of my guests have had such positive experiences and the guests who arrived on September 7 did not mention any of these issues and gave the house 5 out of 5.
On Sunday I will go up to the Eagles Nest and conduct an inspection and take a look at the BBQ.
The location and space are superb!
Over the week the pleasure of arriving back to Eagles Nest never faded!
The phenomenal view is supported by the 200 steps to the ocean. The variety of decks was great for following or avoiding the sun.
Summer on the west coast
We as a family had an excellent stay at Eagles nest. The house is great with everything we needed and the view is simply outstanding!
Throughout our first day we sighted eagles, both Golden and Bald, 15 times so I guess the house is living up to it's name, didn't see any Orcas which was a shame but the sea's a big place!
The steps down to the cove below are not to be missed. A little taxing to say the least, great on the way down not so great coming back but it's well worth it and it works off some of the holiday food too. We went down every day and spent an hour or two exploring or just sitting on the rocks boat and wildlife watching and soaking up the sun.
All in all an excellent holiday.
We even spotted an orca chasing a seal from the deck!
Thank you, Murray for the fabulous stay!
In short: the house has a stunning view, it is very clean, the beds are comfortable, and it has extra amenities like a hot tub and games room.
We went to Eagles Nest over the May long weekend for a ladies weekend getaway and loved every minute of being on the Sunshine Coast. We lucked out with summer weather, went kayaking, hiking, and loved spending time around the house. It was the perfect gathering place for a group of old friends to be able to stay under the same roof, cook, and spend time outside.
The house even has a rocky beach front water access, but it is a bit of a hike down MANY sets of steep stairs. We didn't mind this, but it wouldn't be ideal for children or elderly (so just a heads up!).
Our weekend was topped off with spotting an orca whale chasing two seals that we watched for a good hour from the deck of the house. Couldn't have asked for a better getaway!
There are three kayaks at beach for use by guests, a young childrens play area and two bikes for guest use. We have a local chef who is available to prepare dinners at Eagles Nest. Guests who have used his services have been very pleased. If you wished to take advantage of this service, it would be advised you reserve him well before your arrival. A registered massage therapist is available to come to the house and provide her services. If you wish to set up an appointment prior to arrival that can be done by contacting her directly.
