About the property

1 Queen Suite, 1 Bunkroom -2 Full/2 Twin, 2 fold-out , 2 full bathrooms.Sleeps 6

We fell in love when we saw the view of Big Sky Resort's spectacular Lone Peak, which is enjoyed from the Master Bedroom Suite, Living Room and Outdoor Deck. Combine that with the in-unit hot tub room, fireplace, plenty of space, lodgepole pine beam work and one of the best Mountains in the Rockies convinced us that we want to hang our hat here.

Slope side often requires a lot of walking, is noisy, and comes at a premium price. We're only a half mile away on the free shuttle. Take our elevator down to the heated indoor garage, and a few steps out the door you can board the free shuttle that takes you right to the Big Sky Resort entrance.

The large 'L' shaped Living Room, Dining Room, TV/Den area gives everyone space to spread out with couches, recliners and good reading lights. Or for some private time escape to the peaceful sun room for a nap, or use the desk to set-up your lap-top. Kitchen was rennovated in 2017 with all new appliances.

Full renovated 2016 kitchen with new appliances, laundry, internet, HD Smart TV/Blue Ray DVD/CD/VCR surround system, firewood, and a boot & glove dryer-handles 6 pair of each at once.

About Brett

I'm from a northeast skiing family. My parents met through a ski club my Dad was president of, and started me on skis at the age of 3 at Whiteface, a NY Adirondack mountain that hosted the 1980 Olympic Alpine events. This great mountain, with its 3,200 vertical drop, is where I learned to ski every type of condition, in all forms of extreme weather.

After college I got into exploring new ski areas, and started tallying all the ones I had been to. According to my Excel list I've been to 126 ski areas so far.

I have been to most major resorts throughout North America, and have started ticking off some of the more exotic ones on my bucket list in South America, New Zealand and Europe. I still enjoy the small family run operations too. For me, its just about being outside gliding down a mountain. I don't need fancy resort infrastructure and perfect groomers to have fun. That is the beauty of starting the sport in the era I did.

With all that said, my wife and I were looking for a place out West that we could take our kids to, and spend some retirement time at. I had been to all the big name mountains prior to my first visit to Big Sky which we instantly fell in love with. The mountain had every type of terrain: from the double black diamonds I enjoy now, to the type of terrain I will enjoy in my senior years. The lifts were old salvaged lifts from other ski areas. That was okay. We saw the potential and saw that Boyne was pumping money into the resort, so we bought our place in 1991, and haven't looked back since. With most lifts replaced by high speed detachables, new lodges, and the tram to the top, this area rocks.

Throughout the years we've been slowly fixing our Montana home up. In 2013 we replaced the 29 year old hot tub. In 2017 we renovated the kitchen with all new appliances completing our punch list. We have really enjoyed seeing our renters positive comments about their stay, and we will continue this labor of love to make it great for us and them.

Brett purchased this condo in 1991

Notes:
First thing you will love when you get here is that you pull right up to the building, reach out your window and push the button to open the indoor heated garage. If you've ever arrived to your vacation spot in pounding snow, or pouring rain, you'll appreciate this nice luxury. Once in you'll find plenty of luggage carts (and firewood). Load-up and ride the elevator up two levels and it will open right across from our condo-easy. In-unit, dedicated hot tub room for your privacy is a plus. Tub is cleaned and filled with fresh water at check-in. Big Sky access is a half mile away on the free shuttle that picks-up right outside the Skycrest garage door and drops you off at the entrance. No long walks, no parking hassles. We always utilize the ski/board overnight check service during our vacation stay which is right at the base of the chairlifts. Wet ski boots and gloves...we have a dryer that can handle 6 pairs of both at once. Free wireless internet, TV/DVD/CD/VCR

Awesome stay, place, and amenities!

  • 5 of 5

Awesome place and the views are spectacular! Heated garage for 1 car, so no scraping ice or bushing snow. Seasoned firewood included, so the fires started right up. Big Sky bus pickup is ~30 visible feet from heated garage pedestrian door, so the short wait is comfortable. Bus trip is only 5-8 minutes to/from Big Sky Mtn Village. Owner was very conscious of anything needed. Will stay again!

Amazing stay At Big Sky

  • 5 of 5

Thank you Brett Heineman for an awesome stay at your place. We just finished our trip there just a few days ago, the skiing was phenomenal and the condo was so comfy. The pictures in the ad do not do it justice ! We would go out for a day of skiing then come back to the condo to soak and hang out in the hot tub. It was a desperately well needed vacation. Thank you !

WOW!

  • 5 of 5

Brett & Bonnie's Big Sky condo is amazing! We stayed here over Thanksgiving 2017 & couldn't have picked a better place! It was immaculate & every detail was extremely well though out (loved the dimmers on all the lights!) plus the view of Lone Peak is fantastic. We spend a lot of time just gazing at that gorgeous peak watching the clouds and light change. The hot tub & wood burning fireplace were cozy treats after hiking in the snow. We also loved the layout! I spend a lot of time in the very well equipped kitchen cooking & loved that I could see the TV and be part of the goings on in that area. Also, like that the master was on one side and the 'kids' room on the other so everyone could have their space. And liked the L shape living room area so I could read in front of the fire while others watched a movie. The sunroom was also a great cozy spot for reading or just admiring that awesome mountain view again. We'd love to come back again someday! Thank you Brett & Bonnie for providing us with a special place to enjoy a family Thanksgiving this year. Janet Zahl

Great place

Great place. Good views. Nice hot tub. Rats nest of wiring on the tv tho-couldn't get it running. Bring a 14 year old to set up the tv for you.

Owner's Response: Our building converted to DIRECT TV satelite after the cable company went bankrupt. Not a fan because of the slight delay at start-up and when channel surfing, but the HD picture is crystal clear. We started having an intermittent loss of signal that we thought was solved the week prior with a system reboot, but this renter arrived to no signal as Hurricane Irma was hitting Florida and most of the country was watching the news. They were patient with me as I tried to solve it over the phone between them and DIRECT TV, but it would take a house call days after they checked out to locate and replace a bad section of cable of theirs, not mine. As for the "rats nest" of cable behind our A/V surround system. I leave it neat and tidy, but often our guests pull it out and hook up their own devices and things get a little jumbled back there. Very sad to have my first 4-star rating, but I understand it and the frustration they went through.

Car: recommended

Ideally located in the Big Sky Mountain Village on the free shuttle loop-a half mile from Big Sky Resort. Just far enough away to give us the most spectacular view of Big Sky and Lake Levinsky from this condo's elevated perch. We're ten minutes from the golf course, and white water rafting & fishing on the Blue Ribbon Gallatin River. Bozeman/Yellowstone Airport are an 1:10h away. Yellowstone Park's West Yellowstone entrance is 50 minutes away. We are just around the corner from the popular Beehive Basin hiking trail. There are many excellent restaurant and bar choices in the Big Sky Mountain Village as well as the Meadow Village and Canyon areas where vehicles are recommended. Renters love how easy it is to come and go from the heated indoor parking garage accessed a few steps away from the elevator; directly across from our front door.
