On Island Time is a new, luxury villa in the gated community of The Villas at Oyster Pond. Designed with living space that flows seamlessly from inside to the exterior terraces and balconies over marble floors, this vacation villa makes the guest feel at home in the beauty of a Caribbean hillside. From the moment you drive through the automated driveway gate, every amenity and our concierge will afford you the comforts of home, yet make you feel as though you are truly on ''island time.''
A short drive to the bottom of the hill brings the convenience of Dawn Beach (traditionally described as one of the island's best snorkeling spots), the Westin Resort and Casino with spa, and several bars, restaurants, and small markets.
Within the villa, each large bedroom features a king sized bed, luxury bedding, air conditioning, ceiling fan, large closet with shelving, safe, marble/stone bath with walkin shower, and direct access to the pool deck and living room with 42in. HDTV/DVD/stereo.
Comfort Time: All bedrooms offer sliding doors to a private terrace on which to read or enjoy a morning cup of coffee as you watch the sun rise. Local original artwork throughout the house completes the sense that you are relaxing in a Caribbean oasis.
Every bedroom suite in Villa On Island Time affords a spectacular 4-island view, its own private terrace for ''alone time'' but with direct access to the large infinity pool with swim up bar via two exterior marble staircases. The living area floorplan allows for both private time for couples, yet offers plenty of open space and access for family time as well.
The generous infinity pool boasts a wide view of 4 islands as you float on the plush rafts or swim up to the tiki bar and enjoy the serenity of the breeze whispering through the palms. Relax on the exterior canopied bed, read a novel on one of the cushioned chaises, or dine at the outside table with umbrella to the music of the interior/exterior speakers and the built-in iPod dock after cooking in the gourmet kitchen or grilling snapper from one of the local markets. Our amenities offer vacationers the difficult choice of a 'stay-cation' On Island Time or venturing out to the island's 37 beaches and world-class dining choices. A First World problem, to be sure!
Luxury Time: On Island Time comes with a local cell phone (guest can purchase prepaid time cards at any grocery), wifi access, LCD TV in living room and all bedroom suites, beach towels, emergency standby generator, wine refrigerator, iron and ironing board, front-loading washer/dryer, hairdryer in each bathroom, housekeeper weekdays, and a property manager on call 24/7 after meeting you at the airport to ensure you remain on island time throughout your stay. Activities, spa treatments, grocery delivery, restaurant reservations, car rentals, or any other special requests can be catered to at an additional charge.
On Island Time is protected from rodents and other pests by 3 island cats that are exclusively outdoors on the grounds. Monekys, iguanas, geckos, butterflies, and assorted birdlife have all been routinely spotted about the grounds and in the neighborhood.
On Island Time: Why spend your vacation dollars at another pricey, generic resort when you can enjoy the privacy, space, and luxury of your own private tropical estate without compromising on personal services? Don't in On Island Time!
Villa On Island Time was constructed to specifications honed over years of renting various properties on St Maarten myself. I attempted to take the best features of each villa and incorporate them into On Island Time, with the end result a comfortable home that respects the nature around it, and provides guests with a great setting to spend time with their group, but still find space and layout for private times, as desired.
On Island Time is carved into a peaceful hillside, cascading toward the limitless ocean views below. The house was designed with seamless indoor/outdoor living in mind, yet bringing the luxuries of home to covered and uncovered living spaces.
The grounds boast some of the best landscaping in the area, even offering a lawn, quite unique on St. Maarten! The manicured grounds enhance the privacy and serene nature of the property, as well as the villa's oneness with the surrounding natural beauty.
All bedroom suites have direct access to the outdoor terrace and pool area, as well as limitless views across St. Martin, the ocean, and neighboring islands. This allows family members and couples alike the privacy they need for an early morning cup of coffee and swim, or a late-night glass of wine on the pool terrace without disturbing the rest of their party.
A newly-constructed swim-up tiki bar removes the need to leave the inviting infinity pool, even to find some shade or to make a frozen cocktail.
A local cell phone is available for guest use to make contacting the property manager, restaurants, and activities bookings convenient.
Villa On Island Time also offers peace of mind in a dedicated, individual property manager (not a large management company with varying contact people) who is located within the neighborhood, an ADT security system, its location within a gated community protected by 24/7 on-site security and mobile response, and hurricane-rated glass doors/windows.
While I wholeheartedly agree with the earlier descriptions of how wonderful On Island Time is to stay at, I wanted to emphasize how pleasant it was dealing with Christopher and his property manager, Samantha. They went out of their way to answer our questions and make us comfortable. Samantha even met us at our rental car agency to guide us in and give us a tour of the property. On the date we were supposed to return, an ice storm threw all airline travel off, and there was no way were going to make it home for at least 48 hours. Rather than just usher us out, they worked with us to extend our stay and we were able to enjoy 2 more days of warm weather rather than deal with the ice storm. The house is just fabulous to stay in. The rooms are comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped, and the view from the pool can't be beat. The pool is also designed with stools to sit on at a swim up wet bar- the perfect place to have a drink or sit and read under the shade while still enjoying the water. A number of nice spots to eat out are right around the corner and it was an easy drive to other areas of the island. we particularly enjoyed the market over in Marigot. The property is really an ideal getaway for 2-3 couples or a family that needs 3 bedrooms. My one tip for those planning to cook while on vacation- check the spice cabinet before buying salt and pepper- I think everyone who stays has grabbed some and we added to a supply that would probably last for several months if not years.
Our family just returned after a weeks stay at the property. The experience was smooth from booking to arrival to departure. Samantha met us at our car rental and escorted us to the gated neighborhood and property. She walked us through the ins and out of the house and introduced us to the cats who live at the house. We had groceries delivered and where there upon arrival. We were immediately set to begin our relaxing stay. As mentioned in earlier reviews the neighborhood is steep as well as the driveway but please know that this is typical of all islands we have visited and is not treacherous. The open floor plan and private bedrooms were perfect for our family. The pool and swim up bar was utilized daily and we were thankful for the privacy the home provided our family. Often we all noticed how great it was to be on the island and have all the resort amenities without the resort restrictions of restaurant dress for every meal. The home is centrally located on the island to take advantage of both the French and Dutch sides. We loved our stay!
We just got back from a wonderful 10 day stat at On Island Time. We had two families stay at the house - 4 adults and 4 small kids. The layout was perfect for us. We have been to the island of St. Martin 10 times now and this is the first house we have rented that I would rent again in a heartbeat. It had everything we needed including beach towels which is always helpful when packing. It is also the only house that we have stayed at that supplied us with little things like soap, garbage bags, and laundry detergent. A nice plus! Chris and Samantha were great to work with. Very easy to book with Chris and the few times we needed to call the onsite manager Samantha she answered immediately and came right over. Thank you so much for the wonderful stay! We will be back!
This is our 4th or 5th stay at On Island Time. We love St. Maarten and feel so blessed to have this wonderful home to stay in. The property is clean and well maintained (more details in previous review). The owner just added a beautiful swim up pool bar with a Tiki Hut. It was great to not only have a grill and huge table outside but now we also had a bar and fridge for easy access to drinks. Oyster Pond (where the home is located) is by far the best location to stay. You are close to the French side and also to downtown Phillipsburg for easy access to everything but far enough away from the traffic and craziness. You are also very close to many great restaurants and grocery stores. Thank you again for a wonderful Spring Break! We will be back :)
This is our 4th stay at On Island Time and it never disappoints. My family and I feel like it's our second home. Some of our friends and family suggest that we visit a new island and try something different. Why would we do that when we know we have a beautiful CLEAN house to stay at with 3 cats to greet us! My husband works hard and when it's time to relax, this is where he wants to be. No stress, no questions, just easy. It's so much better than a hotel as you have your own pool and full kitchen. We love making a few dinners at home while the kids swim. The location is perfect. You can easily access restaurants and beaches on the Dutch or French side during the day and then enjoy peace and quiet at night. I can't say enough good things about On Island Time. Thanks again for another wonderful stay. We will be back!! :)
Choosing a place to enjoy your vacation is the key to making your time away awesome and we certainly picked the right spot! The house was perfect for our group which include a Mom, Dad, 13 yr old boy, 11 yr old girl and Mother/Mother in Law. Inside the house we had everything we needed - blow dryers, beach towels, appliances, fully stocked kitchen, beautiful bedrooms and bathrooms. The living area is a great place to congregate, when you aren't using the outside deck space, which is abundant. The whole family enjoyed the pool and views from the backyard, we even saw an incredible rainbow on one early morning.
We used the St. Maartin Shop and Drop grocery service and it was great to have our groceries at the house when we arrived - we used the grill several nights. All the people that work with the villa are professional and helpful - we were so very pleased with our choice.
During the days we found a Butterfly Farm, Nature Preserve, Zip Lining and a trip to PInel Island to keep us busy. The restaurants offer some of the best food around, whether close by in Dawn Beach or over in Marigot - you can't go wrong.
If you have the opportunity to visit the island, consider this magical spot, you won't be sorry.
This was our second stay On Island Time. We previously stayed the year before for 2 weeks in February. We are hooked. The home is beautiful and perfect for our family of 4. My kids are attached to the cats that live outside. The first thing they do every morning is go outside to give the cats some treats. It's rare to find a place to vacation that actually feels like home. The property is being maintained and is always spotless. The kitchen has everything you need. It was great to take a break from eating out and have a family grill-out by the pool. The views are amazing and the location is perfect. It is easy to get to all of the beaches and downtown Phillipsburg. We've only been home a few days and have already booked our next trip. Thank you On Island Time for keeping this family warm and happy during cold Chicago winters!!!
