My family is from this area and we have been spending the summers on Long Lake for many years. It is very quite and is rich with French Acadian Culture. The area is just breathtaking. There is so much to do and the small towns offer the utmost in hospitality and awesome down home cooking.
Our cottage is located right on Long Lake. It is very easy to access and while it is very quite and comfortable the area offers an abundance of activities. You can swim or fish right from the front of the cottage. There is also a public beach, tennis courts, basketball courts, golfing, walking trails, bicycling, restaurants, and small shops within walking distance or just a short drive away.
The sunsets are spectacular! Our cottage offers a large covered porch to enjoy the outdoors even when it may be raining.
We are only 20 minute drive to Edmunston, New Brunswick in Canada. There are many antique shops and small historical museums.
Our stay at the cabin on Long Lake was awesome. My wife and I brought my parents with us for our 3 day stay at the cabin. It was very special being that my Mom grew up in the St. Agatha area. The cabin was perfect. Everything was provided by the owner with the exception of food and our clothing. The owner came by the cabin during our first night to ensure that we had everything that we needed. Very nice! With the beauty of the surrounding area and the lake view from the cabin we would highly recommend staying at this particular cabin.
We are hoping to stay there again in the future.
What a great place! Great location!! Spent a week here in 2013 and have already booked the place for 2014!
Plenty of room! We have 4 kids and we all were able to spread out! The upstairs was a wonderful "kid place"!
Swimming in front of the cottage was perfect as it was shallow enough for my youngest and the older ones enjoyed jumping off of a rock further out. Many hours were spent in the paddleboat.
We did have a few days of rain however the covered porch served us well for endless hours of games!
LOVED listening to the Loons! Yes, the Sunsets were so beautiful! Quiet! Loved it! Looking forward to this July!!!
My wife and I like to get away to different destinations for fishing. I must say that we will be back to this location for sure! The owner was able to put us in touch with a boat to charter secondary to the boat we brought having issues! She was very responsive to our questions and really made the trip quite a success by putting us in touch with the right people. The place was very clean and comfortable. The views were so peaceful! The evenings did get chilly and the wood burning stove was plenty to make a warm and cozy cabin. We even cooked some fresh fish out on the outdoor fire oven!
The first year we rented it for a week. We enjoyed so much we now rent it for 2 weeks. It is very clean, comfortable and has all the amenities you need. We are returning again this year for 2 weeks the only complaint I have is we couldn't stay for the whole summer. I would recommend the place to anyone.
Just wanted to say that my wife and I had a lovely week by the lake up in northern Maine. The cottage is right on the water on Long Lake, the lake was not desolate, but was pleasantly quiet. We enjoyed canoeing out on the lake, grilling on the BBQ, a nice view of the water from the living room. It was a nice size for the 2 of us, there was more sleeping available upstairs for a family and a good sized kitchen counter with stools around it as per the picture. Terrific driving excursions up there, the area was just awesome, great views abound, and we were able to see 3 moose during our week there. The owner was very responsive to our inquiries early on to ensure we had a comfortable stay. Would certainly recommend this listing to families and friends!

Deposit is required to confirm reservation. Deposits and rental payments are non-refundable except in extreme cases. Please consider purchasing trip insurance available on the VRBO site for minimal cost!
Damage protection is secured with your credit card at the time of booking. We work very hard to keep everything in great working order and very clean. If something is not up to your standards or malfunctions during your stay we will make 100% effort to make it right! Some things are out of our control. Except in extreme circumstances we do not refund for an amenity malfunction. There are times when a storm will take out power or TV/Internet. Please be patient! The charm of this location is it's remoteness however that means it may take longer for repairmen to be dispatched.
We love animals and do not mind dogs staying at the cabin. Please note that even the cutest and most well behaved dogs can cause damage if their "owners" are not responsible. Please do not allow dogs unattended in the cottage. Please be respectful of the next renter and please keep all animals off beds and furniture.
I would also greatly appreciate that all animals stay on the main floor. The upstairs is carpeted which makes it much more difficult to clean if there are any "accidents".
All dogs must be approved. Please note there is an additional $50 added to the reservation fee for pets. Credit card on file will serve as "pet deposit" and will not be charged unless there is apparent damage to property from pet.
We do expect all dog owners to clean up pet waste in the yard before their departure. In the past pet owners have been very responsible and we do not expect that to change. :)
The pet deposit will be forfeited for any damage, excessive extra cleaning due to pets, and owners not cleaning up after their pet.
Nightly and weekend rentals FULL payment is due at the time of booking.
Weekly/Monthly rentals $200 non refundable deposit due at the time of booking. Balance due 1 month prior to arrival date.
