This is a lovely home with a European flair, private and idyllic with its own 200 feet lake front and clean water for swimming. From the house and garden you have beautiful views and complete privacy from neighbors. It is a ranch, built in 1964, has cathedral ceiling in living room and A/C in bedroom. On hot summer days a nice breeze usually comes up from the lake. Avid hikers can walk to JackKnife beach.
Riverbay is a residental area, approx. 1-2 miles to beaches and downtown Chatham. Stop and Shop and nearest restaurant about 1 mile from house. Danish and English guests come here every year. Barbeque in the garden on gas or charcoal while the moon rises over the lake. Sunbathe in privacy on the deck with a book and a drink. This is called a little paradise by many repeat guests.

I bought this house because of its location. The views are beautiful and the lake great for swimming. I grew up and was educated in Denmark, have worked both there and here as a social worker. When I married my late husband we retired to Nevada. Two of my daughters have lived here over two different periods, and for many years I have rented out to private guests and have had many come back year after year. Some day I expect to move back and live here permanently.
Ragnhild Munck Bjerke, 775-224-1810 purchased this house in 1991
The house was not bought for rental purpose, but because this is a nice place to live and have guests. They come from Denmark and England and from all over this country. It has central air-condition.
Here is beauty and privacy. Yet it is close to beaches, to Chatham and Orleans, shops and theaters and golf. Pleasant bay is great for sailing and kayaking.
My husband and I spent a few days in this comfortable , clean home with our 20 month old well behaved dog! The back is idyllic- peaceful, serene. We swam in the pond, kayaked and enjoyed the scenery. Everything you could possibly want was in the kitchen and the lcoation was fantastic! Looking forward to returning!
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely cottage in Chatham. It was located on a quiet street in Riverbay and we had access to enjoy and swim in a lake below the property. The house was equipped with everything a guest would ever need and the owner was delightful. The drive to downtown Chatham and the beaches was a very short distance away. I would highly recommend this home.
The house was perfect, the landlady fascinating and you could hear the bullfrogs at night.
We lacked for nothing, with a very gracious host and an excellent and remarkably private location.
What a treat! It is a lovely house with a European flair; we love the red dining room, the sun room and the fabulous deck overlooking the garden and the peaceful lake.
We thoroughly enjoyed swimming and kayaking in the lake and resting on the float, thank you for making that available. There are so many beaches close by to chosse from, and we also walked to swim on the Pleasant Bay side, enjoying the beautiful views from the golf course on the way. With both Chatham, Orleans and Harwich close by, we were spoiled for choice as far as dining, shops and entertainment. We can't wait to return to the peaceful bit of paradise on the lake. Thank you!
There are lovely shops in Chatham and Orleans. There are good restaurants and theaters and wonderful salt water beaches nearby.
