We are Charles and Debbie Farmer, the owners of Farmer’s Inn. Debbie retired from the National Park Service (Glacier) in 2009 and now manages the Farmer's Inn.
Charles is the Director of Emergency Management for Glacier County and an Emergency Medical Tech. We enjoy good company and meeting new friends. Come stay with us awhile, see you soon.
Debbie Farmer purchased this house in 2010
Our next door neighbors of many years retired as State Legislator and Superintendent of Schools and moved to be next to their children. We bought the house and to use as a vacation/executive rental.
Farmer's Inn is 12 miles east of what the Blackfeet call the 'Backbone of the World', the magnificent Rockies and this includes GLACIER NATIONAL PARK, the 'Crown of the Continent', which shares a border with WATERTON LAKES NATIONAL PARK in southern Alberta, Canada.
We loved staying in your lovely home. It was so nice and clean, just the right size for our family. Thank you for spoiling us with homemade banana bread (delicious) and the beautiful flowers. Such touches made our stay more special.
The owner met us upon our arrival and offered help with directions to the park, groceries as well as restaurant suggestions. After two long days in the park, we were delighted to find dishes washed, beds made, and fresh-baked goodies for both days. We had plenty of toiletries supplied and even washing powder for our use to use with the nice washer and dryer. Everything was well-maintained, clean, with nice touches like fresh flowers inside and out. Would definitely recommend!
After a long search for accommodations near Glacier NP I found the perfect place for our family gathering: Farmers Inn. Every step of the process (booking, payment, etc.) was made easy by Debbie. She provided useful info a few weeks before our visit so we were well prepared for our Glacier experience. (She also kept us informed about the fire that was burning at St. Mary in July.) The house was ideal for us: spacious, spotless and extremely well equipped. Debbie came in every day to change towels, empty baskets and vacuum. And she was so generous with the goodies left for us, warm from the oven! (Superior pineapple cake!) Debbie and Charles are wonderful, interesting people and outstanding hosts. As advertised, all parts of Glacier Park were easily accessible from Browning. This was truly an ideal location for our family.
We chose Farmer's Inn for a mini family reunion with my two siblings and all our spouses. We couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. Very reasonably priced, close to the park, restaurants and a grocery store. The house was spotless and well equipped. Debbie & Charles were very welcoming, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. We got spoiled by the goodies Debbie baked for us. I can't recommend this lodging highly enough! Not sure if we'll ever make it back to Glacier again but this is the place I'd choose to stay.
We stayed one night on our way through from Glacier national park to Yellowstone. Charles and Debbie Farmer were very kind and friendly. Before we arrived Debbie was very helpful by email giving us suggestions of places to eat and about the Going to the Sun road. The home was spotless, the beds very comfortable, beautiful quality linen and towels and lots of toiletries if needed. The home was very well equipped with everything you'd need. We only stayed a night but would recommend this home as it worked so well for our family. We were also recommended by Debbie Johnson's Cafe in St Mary for dinner and it was amazing...good home style country cooking with great atmosphere and decor.
We stayed at Farmer's Inn while vacationing in Glacier with our two children and my parents. Debbie has the home wonderfully decorated and it is very comfortable. The fresh flowers and homemade baked goods were an added treat. Charlie was very knowledgeable about the area and was able to give us great directions for getting around the area.
There were really only two drawbacks to our stay: The neighborhood around the vacation home is not as well kept as the property made us wonder where our GPS was taking us until we arrived there and we were staying around the 4th of July so there were firecrackers going off well into the night.
We arrived in Browning late in the afternoon and Debbie was there to greet us. Private parking area and easy entrance from the driveway. We found the home to be very clean, roomy and a great place to relax. We were a party of 4, two couples and we found the facilities great and provided adequate privacy. Each couple had a separate bathroom near their bedroom. The washer and dryer were a definite plus. Debbie came in each day to straighten and leave clean towels. As an added bonus, two nights we had goodies waiting on us when we returned from touring. That was a pleasant surprise. The fresh flowers on the dining table was a great personal touch. TV and Internet service worked fine. Kitchen was clean and well equipped. Full service grocery store one block away. The sunrises were spectacular. We had a very pleasant visit to the Browning area. All transactions with the Farmers were up front and efficient. All questions were answered fully and without delay before the property was rented. If we are in the area again, we would stay there. Thank you Debbie for a pleasant stay.
