About Laure Hullverson

We are a family that has loved vacationing in the Leelanau pennisula since 1977. We live in St. Louis, Mo. and have owned at The Homestead since 1987. We have been regulars every summer for over 25 years.

Laure Hullverson purchased this condo in 2003

Why Laure Hullverson chose Northern Michigan

We chose the South Beach area at The Homestead because of its unique location. It is within walking distance of Glen Arbor and The Crystal River and has the best beach of the entire bay. The privacy of this gated community, the beautiful sunset views, and the overall activities and ambience of the Leelanau Peninsula is a package that can't be beat.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind words. I can't take credit for the view, but I try to anticipate the needs of my guests and add some new touches each year for the many guests who return each season.

My husband and I had a wonderful time!! This was our honeymoon and we couldn't have imagined a more beautiful place to spend it. The condo was amazing and there aren't words to describe the view! At the time of year we came, we had the whole beach to ourselves! We would absolutely come back and stay again! We're thinking about our 1 year anniversary!

Great Homestead Location

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful condo is perfect in every way. The owners are friendly and provided lots of useful information. The beach front location, just outside the main Homestead Resort area, is quieter and less congested than some others. The well-furnished living and dining rooms are generously sized. In mid-June, Lake Michigan was too cold for swimming, but we enjoyed watching sunsets and searching for Petoskey stones on the beach.

Lake Michigan gem with gorgeous views

  • 5 of 5

We have been going to the Homestead since the mid-1980’s and have rented many different condos in various locations. The fact that we have rented this condo four times says it all. It is perfect.

The first thing that strikes you when you enter is the breathtaking view of Lake Michigan through the wall of windows in the living and dining rooms. Then you notice how beautifully but comfortably the rooms are decorated. You feel as if you are in someone’s home. The kitchen is fully equipped and lacks for nothing. Everything is immaculate, clean and in good repair, including the washer and dryer. The owners really take pride in the appearance and condition of the condo. Clearly they want their guests to have a pleasant experience and they do whatever they can to ensure that.

As lovely as the condo is, there is so much to do in the area that one does not spend much time there in the summer. The gorgeous white sand beach and Lake Michigan (no salt, no sharks) are perhaps 100 feet from the condo. The town of Glen Arbor is a short drive or a 15 minute walk. There one finds shops, restaurants, a grocery and hardware store, bike and kayak rental outfits and 4 well maintained public tennis courts. Two of our favorite activities are first, a leisurely float down the Crystal River in a kayak and second, a 15 mile ride on the new bike path that runs through the sand dunes and forests almost to the town of Empire. There is also lots to explore on the Leelanau Peninsula as well as in Traverse City, a 45 minute drive away.

If you come to the Glen Arbor area you will no doubt have a wonderful time but if you stay in this gem of a condo it will be special.
