Chalet, 3 Bedrooms + Bunk Area, 1 Bath, (Endless Waterheater)
Listen to the creek, watch the wildlife and be only a mile from town. This new home has Australian Cypress hardwood floors, indoor grill, heated by a Tulikivi (A soapstone fireplace from Finland), and cooled by canyon breezes. We lived here for several years and never felt the need for air conditioning. The home was designed to let the cool breezes cool it. However,we also have AC so that no one would feel any discomfort. No detail was left out on this unique layout with beautiful natural wood to create a lodge setting in a compact space. On the main floor there is one master bedroom with a king sized bed. There are two loft bedrooms accessed by a shipman’s ladder each with a queen sized bed and an additional single trundle bed. There is another raised sleeping area behind Japanese Shoji doors that houses a two twin mattresses as well as a carpeted play area. Sleeping for 10 can be easily accommodated in this unique layout. Jacuzzi tub and a home office make this a place to come home and relax after a good day skiing, hiking or biking. The kitchen is fully equipped and the home includes a washer and dryer. Bring a DVD and use our 110 inch Projection screen with surround sound. The canyon road goes for 4-5 more miles and then ends in wilderness area. With the Logan to Jackson bike race and the Top of Utah Marathon both in the valley, this home is passed everyday by athletes who are training in a beautiful setting.
Outside the house is a deluxe private playground with sand box, playhouse, swings slides and an adjustable basketball hoop for any kids who want to join you. There are 10 acres of land to take a walk across the bridges along the creek. We have seen deer (almost every day), raccoons, moose, fox, rabbits, pheasants, owls, and other wildlife that live in harmony with this home. Yet we are one mile from the post office and McDonalds. We have the benefit of quiet seclusion and still close to town. It is like our own private oasis.
We wish to share a dream that we created in a beautiful setting. Our preferred method payment is echeck to keep our expenses down by avoiding credit card fees.
For weekends, we require a two night stay unless the weekend is seven or less days away.

About Tom Worthen
We have our home across the creek and are available for your needs.
Tom Worthen purchased this Chalet in 2001
Why Tom Worthen chose Smithfield
It has great privacy and seclusion but within a few minutes of anything the valley has to offer. It is a very unique and open layout that is one of a kind.
What makes this Chalet unique
Peace and quiet and being part of nature. But the warmth of the wood inside and the all natural materials such as slate and soapstone, make this very inviting. We even have a hammock swing inside to play on.

This nice little cabin nestled in the canyon, surrounded by trees gives you the feeling that you are totally secluded - even though "civilization" is very close by. The soapstone fireplace gives the place a warm cozy atmosphere even after the fire has gone out. My wife and I were celebrating our 27th wedding anniversary and found this gem. Since the cabin is close to Logan, we were able to enjoy the Utah Symphony performing at the U of U, had fun playing miniature golf, and filled up on wonderful restaurants around town, including Tandoori Oven, Herm's-Inn, and Angies. If you get a chance to rent this Canyon Lodge, do it! You won't be disappointed.
Beautiful and Organized!
The leadership from our church held an overnight meeting here. Tom was a great host. He made sure we had everything we needed. The house was great. It had no shortage of character. The highlight is the fireplace. That soapstone radiates heat hours and hours after the fire goes out.
Beautiful setting. Friendly neighborhood.
Had a great time with family. Loved the wood stove and even cooked in the wood fired oven. Enjoyed the wildlife (deer & turkeys). The lofts are fun & beautiful. We would stay again in a heartbeat. Thanks.
The coziest cabin in Logan.
We’ve been coming to this cabin for years because every time we come we have the best time. We can’t help always come back for more. Tom, the owner is one of the most accommodating men and the kindest host. We hope to be back soon.
Fun, open floorplan. Our family enjoyed the openess/togetherness. Clean, with linens, shampoo, soaps, and all the kitchen supplies we needed. We enjoyed walking in the area and hiking along the nearby canyon trail. So close to town, yet very private. Instructions were very helpful. Host was available to answer questions. We loved this home and would definitely stay there again!
The cabin had what we needed for four. My daughter and grandson celebrated Christmas with me and my husband. The cabin was just the right size and my grandson lioved the play room, swing chair, and outdoor fort. It was a nice time and a memory we won't forget.
