Great house!!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at Cooper Circle House. Neat neighborhood with lots of character. House was beautiful, clean, very comfortable and lots of room for our party of 6 (two kids). Nice short walk to the Metro, and several places to eat nearby. After a busy day exploring DC, it was so nice to come back to a quiet house where we could relax. The owner, Austin, was great to work with. Always very responsive to our questions before (and during) the trip. And it was the little touches that made it extra nice (well equipped kitchen, coffee, cool shampoo/conditioner dispensers that we all loved). My husband had a conference downtown so we had to spend the 2nd half of our vacation at a hotel. We kept saying we wished we were back at the house in LeDroit!!

Beautiful home!

  • 4 of 5

Overall we had a wonderful stay. The house is just as described. The kitchen was fully equipped and made making dinner at night a breeze. The metro stop is an easy walking distance and very close to major points of interest. The house easily accommodated the 8 people in our party. The only downside was that the people downstairs complained about noise. We rent houses on vacation specifically because we have young children and like to have a place where they can play as they normally would not be able to in a hotel. Other than that small thing the rest was ideal for visiting our nations capital.

Great Property. Great Neighborhood.

  • 5 of 5

We came for a family party. The house was really nice, clean, and just as advertised. Great comfortable space downstairs for hanging out and socializing. Great table to sit around. Bedrooms upstairs with good mattresses. 2 queens and a double. Bathrooms were clean, with nice linens. Had an outside table which we enjoyed in the morning. Neighborhood was terrific. We ate at Shaws and drank in several roof top bars. Lots of fun.

Wonderful House! Wonderful Graduation Weekend!

  • 4 of 5

My family and girlfriend use this house during our son's Howard Law School graduation weekend. Where we were in Dupont Circle was so close to the main campus that we walked to campus.

The three story house has lots of space for a group of 5 or 6. The house has a newly renovated kitchen with every amenity you would need. It is beautiful! The wel kept clean house has hardwood floors throughout which I like because there is no dust. The bathrooms are newly renovated as well but the master suite bathroom does not have any electircal outlets for hair dryers or curlers. The third bedroom access from the master suite was ackward and uncomfortable for my adult girlfriend to stay in. It is more for children.

The parking in the back is very narrow and difficult to use if you have a SUV or any long car. Austin provided us with On-Street Parking Passes that made it possible for our two cars to park on the streets around the house. It is a nice neighborhood allthough our weekend was packed with activities and it was also Mother's Day weekend so we did not go to any local restaurants that we did not already have reservations. I would stay here again when visiting DC.

Well stocked, close to attractions, better than a hotel, but too noisy at night

  • 3 of 5

My family (2 adults and 4 young kids) stayed in this house on a vacation trip to Washington, D.C. One of the big draws for us was that it was a very convenient drive to the National Mall area. Even during "rush hour" times, that area was a short 15 minute drive away. Because we were planning on driving, we needed a house with a guaranteed parking spot. While the parking for this house was in the back through the alley, and it was a tight turn to get into it, the fact that we had it was pretty awesome.

One of the first things that you notice when you enter the house is how well-stocked it is. The kitchen had everything that my family needed for our stay and then some. Even extras like spices, maple syrup, ketchup, etc were there. The bathrooms had plenty of towels available and there was a stockpile of blankets in the closet in case it gets cold. No complaints there. The house is clearly well taken care of. They had a wifi network available for use which worked well for the most part, but I did have to reboot the router a few times while we were there when it wasn't working properly. As an added bonus, there was a computer in the living room for easy access to Internet searches for food, maps, etc. Speaking of food, we had trouble finding family food options within walking distance and either drove to places to eat or brought food in most nights.

Nights in the house were, unfortunately, problematic. When you see the picture of the house, you can probably assume that there are neighbors on both sides of the house and that you need to be reasonably quiet. What you do not realize is that there are also neighbors underneath it. We had to remind the kids over and over again not to make a lot of noise out of respect for those people. Unfortunately, many of the neighbors didn't have that same level of respect. Loud talking or yelling and excessive traffic noise was a nightly occurrence. It was even worse on the weekend lasting well past 2 AM. The back bedrooms listened to a dog barking all night long on most nights. As if the noise weren't enough, the mattress in the front bedroom was firm and uncomfortable. It all made for very poor nights of sleep while we were there.

The last thing worth mentioning is security. Given the neighborhood, when I found that there was no deadbolt on the back door, I was concerned. We even had a strange person knock on the door late one night.

Our stay was better than a hotel, but nothing special.
