We finally found the perfect paradise, adorned with extensive variety of beautiful beaches, flora and fauna unique to this beautiful country.
Horseback riding, sea kayaking, snorkeling, scuba diving, surfing, 4-wheeling, whale watching, monkey-watching, bird-watching, butterfly-watching, canopy touring, world-renowned deep-sea fishing are just some of the activities available in the area.
We had the most amazing vacation at your home. It's absolutely gorgeous and well maintained. And of course, Anna and Freddie were fabulous. We saw whales and a whole family of howler monkeys while relaxing at the pool one day. It truly was a vacation we'll never forget.
This property is absolute paradise. From the accommodations, the perfect pool, the amazing ocean view - and the wonderful Anna and Freddie. The meals that Anna created were perfect, and the kids ensured there were never any left overs! Freddie made sure the property was always in perfect condition.
The property is very private, and yet very close to the beautiful Playa Carrillo - but we loved the private beach at the bottom of the driveway! Some whales even came close enough to see on our last day.
There were 8 of us in total (two families), and the home is an ideal set up for this number. We could not have asked for a better location for our family holiday!
What a beautiful place to stay. Anna and Freddie made the stay extremely wonderful and beautiful. Anna is the best cook ever and they both have very kind and loving spirits. The house was very clean and the landscape was beautiful. We had a great time with our five kids here and built beautiful relaxing family memories!
Just back from our wonderful stay in this property. The house and the grounds are beautifully maintained. It is very peaceful and serene, just what we were wanting. The only disadvantage is getting there. The drive from Liberia is a little over 2 hour drive. There was a mixup with the rental car place but finally we were able to get a large enough vehicle for our family (7) and luggage. Then we discovered a flat tire on this vehicle the next morning. Thankfully, we decided to get the extra insurance so it was all covered. A new vehicle was brought to us from San Jose. This extra insurance was a surprise because I had planned on not getting extra insurance because my credit card company had told me we were covered while there. I advise everyone to get the full coverage. We were told that it is required by the government and different levels are available at various charges. We decided on the full coverage and glad we did.
Anna, the housekeeper and cook, and Freddy, her husband who does maintenance/landscape, were very hospitable and went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. On the next to last day my son was swept off the rocks while fishing on the beach by a high tide coming in with the full moon that afternoon (Anna had warned him not to go and fish there, but male testosterone took over and he went). He came back bruised and bleeding but thankfully, he was not washed out to sea. He lost the car key when he was knocked off the rocks so we had to call again for another set of keys (again glad we had full coverage so it was included). Rental company brought a new car so all was well. So the lesson is LISTEN TO ANNA AND FREDDY! They know the area and the hazards.
The view from the house is beyond words in it's beauty. We loved swimming in the beautiful infinity pool and gazing at the ocean. We enjoyed the beautiful birds and their singing, the beautiful flowers and plants, and one day the monkeys came up close to entertain us which was fun! One afternoon we saw whales in the distance and so glad we had taken out binoculars.
Anna's cooking is wonderful! Her barbecue chicken, rice, beans, and the pasta she makes were our favorites. She helped us find the stores and places we needed to go to. And she was caring and patient with us, especially when my son was injured. We appreciated her so much!
A good time and memory for our family.
We had an amazing time here. Ana was great and her beef tenderloin was amazing!
The villa is so relaxing with wonderful views. There is so much to do in the area. But we particularly loved the horse riding, it was real trekking through the forest and then a ride on the beach.
All in all I would thoroughly recommend this villa.
Having just returned from a wonderful ten-day stay at Casa de li Loma and having had a chance to reflect back on our time spent in Costa Rica, I thought I would write a review. When we decided to visit Costa Rica for the first time, we were looking for several things. While we wanted to be pampered, we wanted to get away from the crowds at the typical all-inclusive resort. Casa de li Loma was the perfect getaway for two couples that wanted some pampering and privacy. I love that the only thing you can hear are the waves crashing on the rocks below, the birds, and the occasional monkey; no people, no cars. Ana and Freddie took great care of us. She's a fantastic chef and prepared some wonderful meals for us every day. At Jacque's recommendation, we hooked up with Captain Bob Carson of the Pez Vela a short 30-minute drive north in Playa Garza and had a great day of fishing, bringing home a 45-pound Mahi which Ana cooked to perfection multiple times during our stay. While we did some ziplining and visiting Carillo Beach and Samara, most of our days were spent just relaxing in the pool or under the gazebo. It was a great time to relax and the time went by quickly. Having read most of the reviews, I can tell you they are spot on about the property, Ana, and the area. We can't wait to do it again when we can come back for two weeks!
When I see a property with 5 stars, I tend to be skeptical. Surely there's something not perfect in any house. Not this house! Absolutely gorgeous. Perfectly laid out and immaculately cared for. Great information given before traveling. The house was not hard to find with the directions, but I would recommend arriving when it is still light outside. The only detractor is the hill up to the home. We had 8 people in our party, so didn't have an option of an 8-passenger, all wheel drive vehicle. So, we had a 10-ish passenger, stick-shift van. It struggled. My husband got very good at driving the manual transmission in first gear up the hill while I prayed in the backseat. The pool was perfection. The beds were comfortable. I loved the layout: four bedrooms; two with king beds and two with two twins with two large full baths plus a half bath. The kitchen had everything one would need, and the air conditioning units kept us all comfortable at night. There was always a nice breeze going, and the view over the ocean was heavenly. The outdoor grill, poolside bathroom, plenty of outdoor seating for eating and games and naps...all very well planned.
Ana helped us set up a horseback riding tour just down the road from the house. Her English is very good and she was excellent with our children. We (even our 3-year-old twin boys) did the Wingnuts Canopy Tour. Playa Carillo was perfect, with nice sand, a clean, large, uncrowded beach, shaded tables under the palm trees, vendors selling coconuts and shaved ice, small waves that our kids loved, and manta rays skirting around in the sun. We enjoyed lunch in different outdoor "sodas" each day, and then came home in the late afternoon to swim while Ana made dinner. Everything she made was delicious. You decide what you want her to make. The shops in Samara are fun to spend some time in, though prices are the same or more as in the U.S. Bring plenty of sunscreen, because it's hard to find and very expensive. We also went to a butterfly farm in Pueblo Nuevo, which was worth the drive out there. Interesting to walk through the rainforest and learn about butterflies, trees, bats, and termites. We only spent a little time in Liberia because we flew out a few hours after Grandma and Grandpa, but the open-air gigantic restaurant right across the highway from the airport had absolutely delicious grilled meats and fun pina coladas in a pineapple.
This was a great location for a low-key, relaxing vacation. Book it!
