Great stay in beautiful location.

We had a great time at this Mountain House. There is lots to do nearby. We highly recommend High Gravity Adventures, a zip Line and adventure park next to historic Tweetsie Railroad just a few miles away!

Cute little Chalet close to Blowing Rock. We enjoyed the views although we did have some rain and cold weather.

Cozy indeed!

  • 4 of 5

We had an auspicious beginning. No water for several hrs the first afternoon (there had been a drought) which made us wonder about how we'd feel about camping. The owner was very good about responding, and checking on us. Water was back on by dark. Living room looks recently updated and is nicely comfortable. Heat was great. Beds were comfy. The shower was nice, but is not for tall people. The location was very nice, although my daughter's Kia Soul did not like the somewhat steep gravel driveway. We would consider another stay at this mountain cabin.

App State tour

  • 4 of 5

Perfect size and location for 3 of us to visit/tour Appalachian State. Easy commute into Blowing Rock or Boone to eat with lots of restaurant choices - we easily could have stayed all week and still would not have had enough time to see everything. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because the running water was not consistently available during our stay. This was due to a severe drought in the area and was not the fault of the owners. We sent them a text about the water situation and within a short period of time Melanie had several options for us to consider. She had spent a lot of time on the phone trying to figure out a solution for us - We found out later that she was doing all of this while hosting her daughter's wedding at her house! A+ for customer service! We hope to return soon!
