Great location convenient to Smokies, Parkway, stores, restaurants, etc. Great view of mountains. Quiet and peaceful location. Surprised there was no WiFi. Owners very thorough on giving instructions to the guests on light switches, use of pool table, guest's removal of trash and washing of towels before departure, etc. Deck arrangements very nice with both covered and uncovered decks, picnic table, and rocking chairs.
Beautiful views from this quiet, peaceful ridge top retreat. Could have stayed at the cabin the entire 3 days but opted for the 25 minute drive to Great Smokey Mountain Park. Lots of easy enjoyable day trips. Check out Mingo Falls on Big Cove Rd. The first trip in to the cabin, don't give up on Bradley Branch Rd. When you see a square timbered cabin and think you are at a narrow drive of new asphalt, you're almost to the gate. After the first time it's was no problem to find.
The beds were very comfortable and there was a generous supply of towels. The kitchen was well supplied with basic cookware and dishes. The game room is a great bonus for a fun evening. My 8 year old son enjoyed checkers and his first experience with a pool table.
I hesitate to recommend this place only because I want it to be available whenever I can return! Definitely plan to book another visit here.
Awesome place....quite and very nice. Loved the view and the location to cherokee was only 10 minutes. Kids had a blast...we will be back for sure!!
The cabin was so comfortable and extremely close to Cherokee. We're from an area that is sea level so the road to the cabin was adrenaline pumping! We'll have amazing memories to talk about for a long time!
Blackberry Ridge cabin is absolutely lovely, with stunning views, well appointed furnishings, and peaceful surroundings. We arrived very late Friday evening (driving up those switchbacks was interesting indeed in pitch dark!!), but we found everything in order and clean as a whistle. Patricia, the owner, even called to make sure we arrived safely.
The cabin was more than accomodating for our party of two familes (4 adults and 4 children ages 8-11). All the bedbrooms were extremely comfortable, and the open floor plan was very inviting and cozy. The kids enjoyed, as usual, the satellite TV and DVD player. The kitchen had amost everything we needed (just missing measuring spoons and cups), with enough cabinet space for us to stock our food for the weekend. The wraparound deck and rocking chairs were the perfect place to take in the view and to sip our coffee and wine.
The location was very convenient to the outdoor company with whom we did white water rafting (our reason for the trip), and was close to several flea markets and Blue Ridge Parkway. The cabin is located in a gated community which appears to be only 5-10% built out, but that actually made it feel more private, which we were perfectly fine with. The roads in the development are well paved and very hilly... made for a great challenging walk/hike!
The owners were so gracious to allow us to do a last-minute late checkout on Sunday - they are so flexible and obviously want guests to enjoy their cabin. We would definitely recommend this cabin to others looking for a nice mountain retreat.
Our family stayed in this cabin for 3 nights and we could of stayed for 3 weeks. We had such a wonderful time and our views from all rooms were fantastic.
The cabin is very well taken care of and the owners were so helpful with all our questions, they were truly great to work with. Would not hesitate to stay here again.
The drive is an adventure because of the narrow winding roads but once you have driven it you learn the curves and it's fairly easy to navigate. Everything is close proximity, we went whitewater rafting, tubing and zip lining along with losing some of our money in the casino.
We really enjoyed our stay!
