We love the open floor plan of the kitchen, dining and living room. The house is apx. 1400 square feet finished, conventient one level, and retro decor. We have a detached garage that you are welcome to use as well as anything in it, like the water toys and an adult bike. Toward the east side of the home is the 278-acre Bass Lake, where we enjoy 100 feet of private frontage. Max lake depth is 16' - plenty deep for waterskiing and tubing. We have two story windows overlooking a terraced rock pathway to our pier, bench and seasonal 12' rowboat with 6 horsepower outboard motor. We take the pier out any time after October 15, so if you choose this time period, the pier may or may not be available. The wood fireplace and cathedral ceilings in the living room make this the place where you'll love to hang out. In the summer, the lakeside breeze off the large screen doors is great, but we have two box fans additionally in case you need them. We have eight patio chairs and two lounge chairs on the covered deck overlooking the lake, and a charcoal barbeque. Enjoy privacy on the lake side queen bed bedroom with sliding glass doors. The other bedroom has a double bed and a twin bed. The queen hide-a-bed sofa in the living room sleeps two. We'd like to make your stay very easy to plan, comfortable and enjoyable. We don't allow smoking. Up to two pets are welcome - no more, no exceptions. We furnish two adult life jackets, two child life jackets, water toys, games, puzzles, and a 10-speed bike.
Plan on bringing your own disposable items like paper products, soaps, charcoal and lighter fluid, and we'll supply the clean linens, house towels and kitchen ware. Our dining room table seats six. You'll want to bring your own beach towels, fishing gear, skiis or snowmachine, depending on when you're visiting! Bring a cell phone because there is no phone service or wifi. We have ice cube trays, but you may choose to bring extra ice. Bass Lake has no public boat launch, but your private boat can be tied up at our pier. Big Bass Resort allows you to launch there during restricted times and for a fee. We allow eight people maximum occupancy. A separate, unheated room in the garage that is NOT a bedroom, has a bunk bed set and a queen pull out sofa. Do not plan on using this room as a bedroom as it is not equipped with detectors or heating/cooling.

Five of us (all adults) spent a week at the cabin. Very nice accommodations. Beds fairly comfortable - depending on which one of us you ask.
Kitchen has all you need. Any type of dish or utensil for preparing a meal was readily available. We spent the evenings playing cards/games and listening to the extensive vinyl collection available - good opportunity to introduce our 23, 25, and 26 year old "kids" to some really good music.
Having the boat available was real nice. Getting the motor down to the dock and on the boat wasn't a big deal - plenty of muscle available. Ran just fine, started easily, and didn't use much gas at all.
Had to work pretty hard to catch only a few fish. Looking at the hand-drawn map on the cork board accurately displays where the fish seem to be, but they simply weren't biting. If you're using lures and going after northern pike, yellow seems to be the magic color, at least our week it was.
We used the bikes provided too. Had to add air to the tires, but pump was readily available and not a big deal. Ride around the lake is a nice route, but BE READY FOR HILLS. First time around, we weren't - so it made it tough. Second time, a bit easily and more enjoyable.
Upon arrival, we were concerned about cell coverage (one of the kids had a phone interview while up there), but as it turned out, we had reception on our phones no problem (we're on Cricket wireless). Periodically turned on hotspot service from one of the phones and had internet access as needed.
All in all, a very pleasant vacation.
Just enough room for a group of 7 guys at a great price. Very Clean. Utility Room was perfect for quick drying hockey gear. Nice location close to Dollar Lake.
We spent a grand week at this property, enjoying it thoroughly just like last year. Yes, we are repeat renters. The facility is in excellent shape, well organized and very comfortable. Lake access is excellent, we rented a canoe since we prefer to paddle over rowing. If you like to fish, this is a great option. Hike? Visit the Forest Service location in Eagle River for maps and suggestions. Lounge on the pier and watch the stars, listen to Loons or just enjoy the environment? This is an ideal location. And the management makes it easy! Likely we will visit again next summer.
We had 7 guys stay here for a Pond Hockey tournament. There is a master bedroom with a queen size bed, a second room with a full and a double, and a pull out couch. If you're doing one to a bed,
It will sleep 4, so bring some air mattresses if you have more than that.
Kitchen had everything we needed, the record player was awesome, as well as the fireplace. Would definitely recommend staying here.
We had a great late summer family trip. Lots of fishing on the lake with lots of Northern and Bass caught. Kids enjoyed jumping off the dock and taking rides in the aluminum boat that is provided. Really appreciated that pets were allowed so our dog Sammy could be with us up North. The place is not terribly rustic nor does it have all the amenities of home, but that for us was the point of an up north vacation. We went to the childrens museum in Eagle River for part of a day which was fun, and then we went to the Wildwood Zoo in Minoqua which was a lot of fun. Better in our opinion than the Milwaukee Zoo. Would recommend and will come back.
House was clean, with beautiful views. We could see otters playing in the lake from the larger windows. Loons, herons, and eagles all daily sightings. Lake is great for swimming and fishing from the property. Caught pan fish, bass, and northern right from the pier. The pier is well used, and will need some attention soon as some boards and cleats are looses. Used the provided fishing boat everyday to find the "big one".
Even the kids enjoyed the listening to albums on the turntable. Dr Seuss to Pink Floyd.
Found the grill, firepit, board games, and toys in the garage to be nice additions.
Location is only 10 minutes from town, yet is private, and feels more remote. We rented a pontoon from Boat Sport only 5 minutes away on the chain of lakes.
The older smaller TV, and lack of cell service (US Cellular) forced us to unplug. We stayed so busy it wasn't missed, but may be for others.
Fish for bass, bluegill & walleye off the private pier or just sit on the bench at the end of the pier and enjoy the day. Launch your own boat through Big Bass Resort, located just up West Shore Road. Inquire directly to them for current rates and launch specifics at email@example.com.
