About Vicki Pannone
Andy and Vicki Pannone have been married since 1982 and have four wonderful children. We live in Corpus Christi and have enjoyed the Texas Hill Country for years. As young newlyweds we camped at Garner State Park with friends but as our family grew we opted for cabins in the area. In 2002 we were blessed to purchase St. Clare's Cabin in nearby Vanderpool. We purchased Creekside Guesthouse in 2010 and are delighted to offer this accommodation to others to enjoy and experience the beauty of the Hill Country.
Vicki Pannone purchased this House in 2010
Why Vicki Pannone chose Leakey
By God's grace we were led to Creekside Guesthouse through mutual friends that thought of us when the owners decided to sell this home. We rented it and made an offer. We love to be able to share this remarkable home with others. Our family loves the hill country and this property allows us to bring friends and enjoy the Frio and all the attractions this area affords. We think of all our guests as family so please join ours in experiencing God's creation either by floating the Frio, hiking the area state parks, or just hanging out in the hot tub or around the fire ring watching the millions of stars with your loved ones.
What makes this House unique
Creekside Guesthouse is beautifully furnished and Vicki loves to decorate with a theme. Vicki's daddy was an avid outdoorsman and this guesthouse is a tribute to his hunting and fishing days. Her daddy's cowboy hats hang in the living room and one of his old boat oars hangs over the front door just to mention a few of the things that make her smile and fondly remember her dad.

NEITHER LOVED NOR HATED
This is a beautiful, relaxing home that is very comfortable....for 6 to 8 people. There were air mattresses but 2 of them had leaks and for some reason the plug was missing from one. I had to get a chair to search the top of the closet for the other mattress plugs. The kitchen was furnished wonderfully but most of the pots and pans were dirty (I scrubbed them) and a lot of the dishes were put away dirty. That was just gross! The rules say the dishwasher has to be run and unloaded before you leave and I just think people didn't even wash the dishes before putting them away because it was easier. We didn't have time to wash the dishes in the dishwasher and put them away (the washer was still running when we left). I did like that the home was clean and the sheets were as well. There were lots of pillows to use. The hot tub: It only worked our first night and then was only tepid. The owners, in their description of the property, didn't ensure that it will be working so there is that. And the sentence "sofa will sleep 2 comfortably" is correct but we put 2 young adults on the sofa because it doesn't make out to a bed as I assumed. All in all, do not let the hot tub and anything else detour you from renting this home. I will not use the word "house" when describing this property because it so felt like home. Make sure you have no more than 8 people and check the dishes before you eat! Enjoy the front porch and the rocking chairs!! I will rent this again.
Everything I expected and more. Such an awesome place.
Other than walking down to the dry creek bed and being attacked by bees. We love the rooms and the whole house was very comfortable. Those who had AT&T enjoyed cell service but others were able to use the wifi. Such a great time around the fire pit and the hot tub wasn't as bubbly as we wanted but warm all the time. With this being my first experience with VRBO my worries are gone and looking forward to the next adventure.
Enjoyable Family Vacation
This is such a beautiful area and this property provides a great location for a relaxing family vacation. The house is roomy and has everything you need. We loved the fire pit and hot tub. As said by previous reviewers, the house does need some attention in terms of cleanliness and maintenance. The master bedroom door was warped & could not be fully closed. Many of the dishes have been put away dirty and the interior of some cabinets are extremely dirty. The linens are left bundled on the beds so that the renter can make their own bed - assume this is to verify cleanliness. The sheets for the master were torn and we had a twin set provided for the queen bed upstairs so no sheets could be placed on the bed. Owner is very responsive so I'm sure these things will be addressed soon.
Thank you for taking the time to send us your thoughts. We live 4 hours away and have had a very busy fall season. I was able to personally address all your concerns this past weekend and you are welcome back anytime.
This was a beautiful area and we did have fun staying at Creekside that being said there were a few problems that we feel should be addressed. The house was not clean, the floors and carpets did not look as though they had been swept for a while and there were cobwebs everywhere. The toilet in the master bath was dripping inside the tank and one sink did not work properly. The dishes and glasses were not clean either, this could be a dishwasher problem but they should not have been put back in the cabinet. I am not a complainer and don't usually write reviews of this kind but for as nice a place as this is I feel it should have been better.........the hot tub was great and we loved the firepit. Had a really good time hiking at Lost Maples Park and visited the winery as well. The owner was very nice when we talked with her on the phone.
We are thrilled that you stayed with us and enjoyed the fire pit and hot tub. Thank you for taking the time to let us know of the items that need to be addressed. Andy and I live in Corpus Christi and we appreciate hearing from our guests since we are 4 hours away. I've addressed all your concerns with our caretaker and she will be taking care of them immediately.
Beautiful & Relaxing Getaway
Forgot how prettty this part of Texas truly is and with all of the recent rains this year the Frio and surrounding area were especially pretty with the water flowing fast for some fun! Very relaxing house that had everything I could think of for a wonderful trip with the family to truly get away. Thoroughly enjoyed all the area had to offer. Visited Lost Maples and Garner which are both beautiful! Also tried my hand at road bike on FM 337, beautiful but not for the faint of heart or weak of lung. A wonderful trip in every way! Thanks!
