Andy and Vicki Pannone have been married since 1982 and have four wonderful children.
We live in Corpus Christi and have enjoyed the Texas Hill Country for years. As young newlyweds we camped at Garner State Park with friends but as our family grew we opted for cabins in the area. In 2002 we were blessed to purchase St. Clare's Cabin in nearby Vanderpool. We purchased Creekside Guesthouse in 2010 and are delighted to offer this accommodation to others to enjoy and experience the beauty of the Hill Country.
Vicki Pannone purchased this house in 2010
By God's grace we were led to Creekside Guesthouse through mutual friends that thought of us when the owners decided to sell this home. We rented it and made an offer. We love to be able to share this remarkable home with others. Our family loves the hill country and this property allows us to bring friends and enjoy the Frio and all the attractions this area affords. We think of all our guests as family so please join ours in experiencing God's creation either by floating the Frio, hiking the area state parks, or just hanging out in the hot tub or around the fire ring watching the millions of stars with your loved ones.
Creekside Guesthouse is beautifully furnished and Vicki loves to decorate with a theme. Vicki's daddy was an avid outdoorsman and this guesthouse is a tribute to his hunting and fishing days. Her daddy's cowboy hats hang in the living room and one of his old boat oars hangs over the front door just to mention a few of the things that make her smile and fondly remember her dad.
Thanks for the "little bit of heaven". Everything was absolutely delightful-beautiful guesthouse, luxurious hot tub, friendly and plentiful deer and more stars than I have seen since I was a kid!! Like we said a "little bit of heaven".
This is such a beautiful area and this property provides a great location for a relaxing family vacation. The house is roomy and has everything you need. We loved the fire pit and hot tub. As said by previous reviewers, the house does need some attention in terms of cleanliness and maintenance. The master bedroom door was warped & could not be fully closed. Many of the dishes have been put away dirty and the interior of some cabinets are extremely dirty. The linens are left bundled on the beds so that the renter can make their own bed - assume this is to verify cleanliness. The sheets for the master were torn and we had a twin set provided for the queen bed upstairs so no sheets could be placed on the bed. Owner is very responsive so I'm sure these things will be addressed soon.
This was a beautiful area and we did have fun staying at Creekside that being said there were a few problems that we feel should be addressed. The house was not clean, the floors and carpets did not look as though they had been swept for a while and there were cobwebs everywhere. The toilet in the master bath was dripping inside the tank and one sink did not work properly. The dishes and glasses were not clean either, this could be a dishwasher problem but they should not have been put back in the cabinet. I am not a complainer and don't usually write reviews of this kind but for as nice a place as this is I feel it should have been better.........the hot tub was great and we loved the firepit. Had a really good time hiking at Lost Maples Park and visited the winery as well. The owner was very nice when we talked with her on the phone.
Forgot how prettty this part of Texas truly is and with all of the recent rains this year the Frio and surrounding area were especially pretty with the water flowing fast for some fun! Very relaxing house that had everything I could think of for a wonderful trip with the family to truly get away. Thoroughly enjoyed all the area had to offer. Visited Lost Maples and Garner which are both beautiful! Also tried my hand at road bike on FM 337, beautiful but not for the faint of heart or weak of lung. A wonderful trip in every way! Thanks!
EXCELLENT GET AWAY FOR MATURE COUPLES,, Im sorry Vickie i haven't wrote a review on this sooner..But it is exactly what we were needing, all though one of our guest couldn't make at the last minute the 4 of us had a wonderful time. Even the storm that blew in didn't dampin things , but the tree limb did get your carport so sorry about that. The other couple wants for us 6 to do it again with them this time , if anyone just needs a get away in an awesome town this is your place to stay...Thank You Again,,,& Have a Blessed Day
Four friends and I chose Creekside for a weekend retreat in September of last year. Within 5 minutes of our arrival one of the guys declared that he wanted to buy the property. It was everything we could have asked for in the way of comfort, seclusion and proximity to nearby attractions. We enjoyed cooking wonderful meals in the house and on the grounds, fishing and hiking the Frio in Garner State Park. and scenic drives that took us through Tarpley, Bandera and Medina. Among our favorite moments there were those we spent sitting on the porches in the crisp early mornings and late afternoon and watching the deer at the feeder in the meadow by the house. We all lead very stressful lives, and Creekside provided a wonderful escape from "the real world".The house is beautifully appointed with attractive and comfortable furniture, and the helpfulness and cooperation of the owners was extraordinary. While there, the TV was almost never on, the phones were used only to touch base with home, and the entire time was devoted to simple relaxation. I could go on extensively, but will conclude by saying that our initial trip to Creekside has become a much anticipated annual event. A portion of last years group will be returning within the next couple of weeks to enjoy this wonderful place again. It is the one annual event we will all take time off from work to enjoy, and is the highlight of our year.
We spent spring break here with our college/teenage kids. We had really wanted to go camping but a few of us wanted a more glamorous experience. This was the best of both worlds. We loved soaking in the hot tub under the stars at night, roasting marshmallows around the campfire, sipping coffee on the porch and watching birds in the morning, gathering around the huge cedar table outside for dinner, grilling outside, and wading in the creek behind.....but going inside to sleep in comfy beds, have a nice bathroom, and a well furnished kitchen to cook in! For the most part we enjoyed unplugging from technology as there is no wifi or cell phone service (unless you have AT&T). But the library in town allowed us to check emails a few times. We enjoyed hiking in nearby Garner and Lost Maples State Park. The drive to nearby towns and especially the Hill Country Natural area were breathtaking. Thanks for a relaxing time with family!
