|Minimum Stay||3 - 7 nights|
Sandy Serenity Beach is one of a kind in a small beach neighborhood. Steps to the beach, a bike ride or walk to the things you need, close enough to down town (10 mnts), yet far enough away to provide perfect Solitude!
The beach is literally a 1 mnt and 30 sec to 2 minute walk from the front door. Hear the ocean 24/7 and feel a constant breeze with cooler temperatures than the main land. Why?...you're on an island and the house sits in a thin part of the island (5/10ths of a mile wide) with constant ocean and inter-coastal breezes. No bugs! :) (See map). Also, there are 2 boat ramps at the back of the neighborhood if you need to drop your boat in the inter-coastal (6 mls by sea to Mantanzas Inlet ocean access). Also, don't be fooled by houses which are actually further away form the beach even though they are on beach side of A1A. They are actually further away, it's a further walk to the beach, have no close driving access, and no water behind them (inter-coastal). Simply pointing out a few things I've heard other say 'if they had only knew' :)
The open floor plan gives you plenty of space to ensure you're not cramped. Everything you need is provided for when your at the house. Outside you have a pool and patio area with a gas grill, table, seating for 6 and chaise lounges. An outdoor shower is in a private area along the side of the house. Fenced in side and back yard, great for keeping the shower private and great for the dogs. Though hopefully you're at the beach or out and about enjoying the sun and other activities and not spending much time in doors :) Inside you're stocked and the description is below.
Quiet, easy access to everything, we know you'll love it as we and so many others have.
We hope to have you visit South Beach Solitude soon.

Had a great family vacation and was our first time renting a home. Brian answered all my questions quickly and made me feel secure. Everything we needed was in the home and we loved the pool. The beach was not crowded at all over Labor day weekend and was just perfectly lovely. My only issue was when I turned the oven on to pre-heat a bunch of black smoke came from the oven-turnout and I found that about an inch sized piece of plastic was melting and burning on the bottom corner of the oven. I'm pretty sure I would have missed it, even had I looked for something other than removing the pots that were in the oven-lol. The smoke did no damage and the culprit (it's a guess here) was a little pizza disc so the box doesn't hit the pizza? Anyway that's the only guess i can think of from the inch of plastic that was left-lol. It just pealed off the bottom of the oven easily but it started the vacation with a bit of extra work for me since I knew we were going to cook a bit (our hobby) but the oven worked perfectly all week so I'm sure this was just a fluke on the cleaning peoples department. The house was perfectly clean other than the flammable plastic piece in the oven. I highly recommend this house and if you can drag yourself away from the beach, we really enjoyed the Savory Fare Food tour. The food was fantastic and it was a lot of fun.
Never having rented a vacation home before, we were a bit nervous. Brian was very easy to work with, responsive and made the all the planning very easy. The house was everything we could have hoped for, very clean, well furnished, and we loved the decor, casual & comfortable. There was plenty of room for 6 adults & our dog, with the pool and patio there was always a place to get some quiet time. Access to the beach and city were just as described. Beside all of this, the attention to small details really made a big difference - like a compressor for bike tires & inflatables, aloe gel in the fridge for sunburn, hair dryers in the bathrooms, games, movies, etc. Next time we visit the St Augustine area, Brian will be our first call.
Just got back to Virginia after staying in this home for ten glorious days. It was our first time in Florida, and was somewhat last minute because we just found out our water-loving Rotty had been diagnosed with terminal cancer. Brian openly offered us his home knowing the circumstance of having not only a large breed dog, but two small children as well (not typical for property owners to be open to BOTH, especially in Florida, and especially last-minute).
This house was truly a home, and well exceeded our expectations. The pictures really do no justice. I wish I could post some of our own pictures in my review to illustrate this home's beauty.
The owner Brian has made sure that all you need to pack is your clothes. Towels, toiletries, beach toys, bikes, hair dryers in every room, cleaning supplies, first aid items, and probably countless other commodities I forgot to list were all available. We definately overpacked for this trip thinking maybe half of these things MIGHT have been provided. As frequent vacation home renters, we agreed that this house was the most accomidating house we've ever stayed at.
The neighborhood is safe, and the neighbors are actual residents, and were so friendly and welcoming (one even came over at freewill when our battery was dead to see if he could give us a jump).
The walk to the 4x4 drive-on beach takes only minutes by foot. Deapite it being 4x4, we even saw little cars driving on the beach because it is so well maintained by, I'm assuming, the city. Totally dog friendly too, almost everyone out there brought their dogs to play in the clean, clear water.
The pool was maticulous, and was even visited by the pool guy while we were there for the weekly cleaning. He was very friendly and trustworthy, and has been working for Brian for years. We could tell that they had a good working relationship, and expressed the standard Brian held him to was nothing less than perfection. We could tell by the condition of the home, the same relationship was most likely maintained with the cleaning/maitenence staffs.
We will be back again, probably sooner than we expected before our visit.
This was a great rental, and we enjoyed it very much. We had 6 adults and 2 children (ages 18 mo and 7 mo) staying here, and it was plenty of space for us. It was comfortable, clean, well-maintained, and stocked with all the plates, utensils, cookware etc. that we needed. It was located close to the main road up to historic St Augustine, but we never heard any traffic at all. And it was really just a 10-minute walk to the beach. We were there over Christmas, so it was too cold to use the pool, but it looked very nice. We did use the BBQ a lot, and it was fantastic - large and powerful. The owner is pleasant and responsive as well.
We would stay here again, definitely.
The house was absolutely wonderful. It was decorated tastefully. We stayed for a month and although the weather was unseasonably cold, we felt very comfortable staying in watching movies and relaxing. The house was nicer than the pictures showed.
The owner made himself available for any questions we had and was very helpful. The house was very clean and well maintained.
We would recommend this property for anyone.
The house was immaculate when we walked in the front door. The picture of the house on the outside was exactly as shown. The inside of the house looked much better in person than the pictures showed. Everything was in order and ready for us to use. There were 7 of us in the 3 bedroom/2 bath house. I especially liked the set up of the house in that the master bedroom and master bath is on one side of the house and the other 2 bedrooms are towards the back of the house near the other bathroom. The neighborhood was very quiet. Having a pool in the back yard was great for the kids. There were also 4 bikes that the kids could ride to the beach. The appliances all looked brand new and the washer and dryer were great. There was plenty of pots and pans for cooking. There was a large flat screen TV in the living room and other large TV's in 2 of the other bedrooms. The wireless internet was great for the kids. Everything was thought of and we did not need anything. The Publix Supermarket is within 3/4 miles of the house. We did not go out to eat because we did all the cooking at the house. There was a BBQ Grille out in the back yard that we did use on July 4th. If given the occasion again I would not hesitate to rent this house. Brian, the owner, was great he answered any question I had in a very timely manner. St. Augustine is a beautiful area and you can take your car on the beach. I would recommend this property without a doubt.
