Pine Marten Lodge is a great place to just enjoy nature from home. The backyard deck steps down to a large paved patio surrounded by towering pines to really be at one with nature. There's also a six burner grill for all your outdoor cooking!
There are two charming guest bedrooms on the first level - one with a queen bed, and one with a full over full bunk bed (making it equally cozy for kids OR couples).
On the upper level you will find the loft/playroom - with a queen sleeper sofa and twin daybed, 32' TV, Xbox 360 with Kinect. The loft also opens to another deck to enjoy the view. And finally, upstairs you will find the master suite - with pillowtop king bed, ensuite bathroom with his and hers sinks, and a 26' flat-screen tv with DVD player.

We had a fantastic stay. Your house was a home from home with everything we could have possibly needed. Its all the little touches that make the difference, the extras in the kitchen, the firepit was a hit with all and we spotted pine martins, deer at breakfast time just walking past the window and we even turned into amateur birdwatchers thanks to the many books you provided which helped us to find out the names but sadly no bears although we took that to be a bonus. Went swimming in Lake Tahoe at one of the secret coves, hiked up Eagle Falls, walked round Spooner Lake, cycled round Donner Lake which was incredibly good value thanks to your residence card. We shall tell our friends and hopefuly you will get more visitors from Scotland. Thanks for all you help and advice along the way it was very much appreciated. Thanks again.
Just a note to share how much I enjoyed my stay at this house. My parents joined my family and I (7 total) for a Thanksgiving holiday at beautiful LakeTahoe, and it couldn't have gone better! The house was ideally located in the hills of Truckee, surrounded by mature Pines and Redwoods. It was impeccably clean, plenty big and fully equipped for making and enjoying a complete traditional Thanksgiving dinner for 7 - wonderfully appointed and modernized. All of the beds were incredibly comfortable, with high-quality bedding and pillows- we all slept so well during our stay! It was such blessing to have had some snow and watch it fall as we relaxed in the super comfy living room by the wood stove...nothing like snow and a warm, bright fire to bring in a holiday together! The house came fully loaded with dry, split firewood, which we used the majority of the time during our stay. Additionally, there were sleds in the garage which the kids quickly grabbed up and found a nice sledding hill about 200 yards from the house in the beautiful and open backyard- so fun! The Hot Tub on the back porch was clean and functional, and we all enjoyed a soak as snow was falling around us- simply magical! We had a bit of difficulty getting the surround sound to work, but that didn't stop us from enjoying many movies together on the big hi-def television (the TV volume was fine)! Judy was great with her communication, and super friendly, allowing an exception be made for my small, well-behaved dog so he could join us (his first time in snow- it was comical watching him walk through 6 inches of snow!) In summary, it was everything I had hoped for when selecting a mountain cabin for my holiday stay. The website and pictures did a great job of accurately depicting the charm and clean, friendly confines of this home. We will look to stay here again if we're blessed to return! Enjoy!
Truly a magnificent cabin!! Immediately as we stepped into the cabin we were blown away by the beautiful open floor plan with soaring windows and lovely furniture. The cabin is the perfect size. Plenty of room to spread out--but not overwhelmingly large! The backyard is big and flat and so tranquil, the chipmunks certainly love hanging out there!! The cabin was spotless and appointed with thick bath towels and comfy beds. The kids were thrilled that there was a waffle iron--and enjoyed having big breakfasts before we headed out on our daily adventures!!
Just the best! Beautiful home, great location, and we had the best time with our family and friends. We will definitely be going back.
5 of us stayed in this house and we all enjoyed it. It was just comfortable staying this house! We enjoyed the backyard facing lots of trees. It was very relaxing. The house is locating close to downtown Truckee, coyote moon golf course, and other recreational areas such as North Star. We definitely recommend this house to everyone who wants to have relaxing time in a beautiful backyard and feel of home away from home!
This is a great place to stay in the lake Tahoe area! We loved it. It was clean, the hot tub was awesome, and the beds were comfy! The owners were easy to deal with and extremely helpful. We will go back to stay here again! It is in a great location. Truckee is fun and has everything you need, and there are lots of ski areas close by. Its not far from Tahoe City either. We like it better than the south shore area of Tahoe! It's a gorgeous quiet getaway with beautiful trees to see in the backyard. Can't wait to go back!
All I have to say is we cannot wait to go back! We travel often and I have never felt so compelled to write a review. Everything from booking, to check out was wonderful and done with ease. Everything was very clean. The towels were fresh, soft and had a clean sent. We couldn't have asked for a more organized and accommodating kitchen. From the simplest kitchen tool, like a peeler, to a panini press, we were taken care of. They even had extra paper towel, toilet paper, aluminum foil, sandwich baggies and more. The hot tub was clean. The yard was beautiful. The beds were super comfortable. Judy was extremely sweet and we felt that she would be available if we needed anything. They even had a book filled with helpful information alphabetized. The best part about the book was that the opening was filled with a bit of humor. If you go... you will read about apples and know what I mean. The most difficult part about writing this review, is that I fear you may book your stay on a date that I want to come back.
