Barrington Inn Apartments have two bedrooms, one bath, living room and fully equipped kitchen (one unit has 2 queen beds and 1 twin bed, the other has 1 queen bed, 1 twin bed and 1 full bed). Each unit has a porch with an amazing panoramic view of Block Island, Great Salt Pond (New Harbor) and the ocean. You can see the mainland on a clear day! Beach access is a short walk to the end of our street. For your convenience we offer a shared laundry on site, outside shower, picnic tables, gas grills and adirondack chairs to use. The units sleeps a maximum of 5 people with pet. We do have a pet policy with restrictions to size, weight, and breed. These units can be rented by the night with 2 night minimum or by the week (7 nights). Linens and parking for one vehicle are included. These units are not air conditioning but they do have fans. Nightly reservations include continental breakfast, afternoon snack and daily housekeeping. Weekly rentals do not include breakfast, snack or housekeeping but are available upon request in advance for an additional fee. We are located at 584 Beach Avenue across from the Fire House on the corner of Ocean and Beach Avenues. Payne's Dock, Mahogany Shoals, Dead Eye Dick's Restaurant and Payne's Killer Donut shop are down the street. The Boat Basin, Champlin's Marina Resort and The Oar are a short bike ride away. Old Harbor (town) is an 8 -10 minute walk or quick bike ride away.

The Barrington Inn is a historical Inn overlooking New Harbor. It is filled with antique furniture and cozy bedding. The six guest rooms have air conditioning, some have porches and most have amazing views of the Harbor. The Apartments are pet friendly! Sunsets on the back porch are amazing, we have one of the best views on the island.

Great location for families!

I have grandchildren who love to visit every year! We take them crabbing down at the dock near the Oar, we take them for water taxi rides around the harbor, they love bumper boating, playing at the playground and arcade at Champlin's, fireworks on the beach and the parade on the fourth of July, boogie boarding and build sand castles on the beach. Block Island is the perfect place to create great family memories to last a lifetime.

We would consider renting less than a week if available.
Cancellation Policy: The Jane Marie Cottage and Barrington Inn Apartments require ninety (90) day notice of cancellation. A Five Hundred Dollar ($500.00) cancellation fee will be deducted from all deposits. The prepaid deposit minus the cancellation fee will be refunded if the property can be re-booked for the total reserved dates. If the reservation is cancelled less than ninety (90) days before your scheduled arrival, no refund will be provided; the prepaid deposit minus the cancellation fee will remain as a credit towards a future visit. On cancellations made within seven (7) days of the arrival date, guests are responsible for payment of all nights reserved. Guests are responsible for payment of all nights reserved regardless of actual arrival or departure date. We do not provide refunds for bad weather, flight or ferry cancellations.

50% deposit is due upon booking; balance and tax are due upon arrival.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund if canceled at least 7 days before arrival date.
  • 100% refund if canceled at least 14 days before arrival date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
