The ground level comprises of a ping pong table and reading area, an en-suite bedroom with King size bed and the washer and dryer. 2 sets of french doors open to a deck with an outdoor shower.

Rosario Resort is a 2 minute walk from the house, where you can find the marina, outdoor pool, convenience store and cafe. The Moran mansion is open for museum tours and a indoor pool and Spa.
Moran state park and Cascade Lake is 5 mins away and the shops and restaurants of Eastsound are just 10 mins away.
If you don't want to take the car ferry, the seaplane from Seattle lands at the Rosario marina which is an easy walk from the house. Alternatively you can come by boat and dock it at the marina.
We live in Portland Oregon with our 4 young children. We moved to American in 1995 from the UK and fell in love with the Pacific North West!
Tracy Kelly purchased this house in 2010
We fell in love with Orcas Island during a trip 14 years ago. 3 years ago we purchased the land on this amazing lot and set about building our dream vacation home. We wanted to build a house that our 4 children can grow up with and we can build wonderful memories in. One day we would like to retire here.
This place allows our children to have some of the freedoms we experienced growing up. Exploring the resort, searching the beach for pirate treasure and swimming until your skin turns wrinkely. We love to feed the deer at the door step, walk around the marina and chat to the boaters, visit Cascade lake (5 min drive) and kayak, sunbath and swim. Kayak around the bay. Visit Eastsound. Hike the many trails around the island.
Wonderful house, kitchen was very well stocked with spices, cookware, etc which is always a treat. The pictures of this property do not do it justice. Walking into the main room was breathtaking. Hanging out on a sunny day with the doors open was spectacular. Incredible value.
This home was PERFECT for our group which included our family of five adults, my parents, and two small dogs. Everyone had their own place to sleep and there was plenty of space for everyone to spread out and enjoy the beautiful, comfortable, and modern amenities. Our most favorite part of this home was sitting on the spacious deck with our coffee (or happy hour beverage) and watching all the boats and float planes come in and out of the marina. The front room sectional and chairs were so comfortable and provided adequate seating for our group (wish I knew where they bought the sectional; I want one for my bonus room!), while the large table was nearby for dice and card games. The large kitchen was great for meal prepping and well stocked.
My only two notes of caution: While the location of the home is almost next door to Mount Constitution (beautiful hikes) and a short drive to Eastsound (shopping, restaurants), it is somewhat hilly and not conducive to long walks or flat bike rides near the home. The home's multiple stairs with its beautiful - but slick - wood flooring, could also be an issue with elderly renters. (I was a little nervous with my mom who has some physical limitations.)
Bottom line - we LOVED this home and recommend it to large parties (who may want to bring along their four-legged family members). Thank you for sharing your home!
There were 9 of us total....our daughter and husband and 3 grandchildren and son and his girlfriend. We all absolutely LOVED this house. The folding doors out to the deck truly brings the outside in....my favorite feature. The kitchen is very user friendly with plenty of counter top space for family cooking and eating. The views spectacular, the beds very comfortable! Can not say enough about how much all 9 of us enjoyed our stay on Orcas Island! Would recommend this house to anyone and everyone.
Thank you for sharing!
What a fantastic house and wonderful location!! We were 8 people with my wife and I, three kids under 12, my parents and sister. There is enough room for everyone to have their own space. The view from the house is spectacular, and we loved to have tea time out on the deck to enjoy the view. The kids loved the loft area, board games, ping pong and closeness to the resort amenities. They loved to go down to the resort to play tether ball and shuffle board. But what the kids liked best is all the crabs and hermit crabs they found on the beach by the resort. I had a great time fishing with my 7 year old son. We went to the rock piling or the dock early or late and caught different kind of fish. Also the Moran state park next door has great fishing places. We've rented many rental houses before, and we think this house was the best stocked. It has everything!
We will definitely be back.
Our family came from 4 corners of the USA for a weeklong vacation in the San Juans. This house could not have been any better for us. Expansive, tasteful and very relaxing, we enjoyed every second here. The house was the highlight of our trip. We had a toddler with us and felt very comfortable with him roaming around the place. The folding doors that open up on to Rosario Bay brought the outside inside and we loved that feature. Being able to run down to Rosario Resort for a drink or coffee were an added bonus. This is one of my favorite homes of all time!
We stayed here for the third time and have already booked again for our visit next year. It's so rare to find a beautiful, comfortable house that has every accommodation for both a toddler and a dog. When you add to that the open floor plan, the gorgeous view overlooking Cascade Bay, and the Rosario location - it can't be beat. Thank you Tracy, looking forward to next year already!
