About Sandy Yates
I grew up in Lewiston and love this unique border town so steeped in rich history. Lewiston is a little hamlet very close to Niagara Falls and was burned down in the War of 1812.. I know everything about this area , past and present and love interacting with my guests. I try very hard to not only welcome them but am intent on learning and guiding them to having the best vacation they could possibly have.
Sandy Yates purchased this House in 2008
Why Sandy Yates chose Youngstown
This is a wonderful property. The neighborhood is so quiet and friendly. It is only 3 streets of small houses and cottages with the wonder of Lake Ontario, right there in your back yard. Ot os a very special place and one can't help but bond and relax while there. It is so close to all the action, but yet it is wonderful to come home to peace and tranquility. !
What makes this House unique
There are so many benefits, it is hard to know where to start. The lake front is just. a few steps away from the house. Although it is private to only the residents of this small community, it is like having your own private lake because there is seldom anyone at the lakefront. There is a wonderful spacious living room with a wrap around couch that is so perfect for visiting with family and friends. I love dogs and even offer an extra service in which I can watch your dog with tender loving care, if you decide to take a long day trip to Canada or elsewhere. .

House in Youngstown, NY
I spent a week here with my daughter, son-in-law and 2 year old granddaughter. The house is just as depicted here on VRBO. The spectacular view of Lake Ontario is just steps away. The neighborhood is very quiet - nice to return to after a day of playing tourist.
The house was well stocked with what we needed for the week. The kitchen is complete enough to be able to cook a nice dinner instead of eating out.
We would suggest that anyone renting the house with small children bring a baby gate to close off the laundry and steps area from the kitchen. We were glad that we had brought one with us as our little one loves steps.
The owner was a delight to deal with. From our initial request to book through our entire stay, Sandy was in touch to make sure we had what we needed.
If I return to the Youngstown area, I will definitely book this house again.
Traveled to NY for short family trip to Niagara/Ontario area.
Excellent area with short drive to the Niagara Falls and Nigra on the lake. Easy to cross boarder with passports. Youngstown and Lewiston are slow moving quaint towns with great food. House is not fancy, but it is clean and cozy. Beware, Ceilings and doorways are low. Not easy for those over 6 feet tall, but you ll have a great laugh after the first bump or two. Sandy is very friendly and helpful. She makes you feel welcome.
Charming with a View that’s Out of this world
Loved our stay here. Cozy cottage with access to the river view just steps away. Everything you could want and then some. Our gracious hostess was lovely and available to help at any time! Can’t wait to come back!
Perfect home away from home
This property was absolutely perfect for me and my family. It sits on Lake Ontario. Being from Florida, it was amazing to see the snow and lake frozen over. With my job I am only able to vacation in the winter time and we absolutely LOVED the area. The people were amazingly friendly and Sandy goes above and beyond making you feel welcome and comfortable. I would not hesitate to stay here again and truly appreciate her hospitality. Thanks again!!!
My husband and I spent a relaxing week here. 5 star location and owner. Sandy was helpful and attentive without being intrusive. The lake is gorgeous even in the bitter cold. We were able to visit the US Falls, Power Vista, Old Fort Niagra, Ice House winery, and Canadian Falls. All worth the trip. Good food at Apple Granny, and China Pearl and good church service at St John’s Episcopal in Youngstown. The cottage is cute and has a lot of character. I would give 5 stars overall but for some needed maintenance and updates. We enjoyed watching movies on VHS (so retro!), reading, playing games, and napping. There are many books in the house with a section on local history which we enjoyed. The kitchen is adequate for cooking vacation meals.
There were even Christmas decorations for us to enjoy! Our puppy loved the house and all the snow. Overall a fun and relaxing experience.
Cozy home overlooking Lake Ontario
We enjoyed our stay here. The house itself in somewhat unprepossessing from the outside, but inside we found it clean, warm, and cozy. The bedrooms and baths are small, particularly upstairs (essentially a refurbished attic, with clever signs warning visitors to duck for the low ceilings), yet quite comfortable. We found everything we needed for our stay already in place. Wifi and TV worked well (we did not try the cable service). The neighborhood is quiet, with access to nice views of Lake Ontario. Sandy proved to be an excellent host, helpful and responsive without being intrusive. She even left us a delicious pastry as a welcoming gift. We would be happy to stay here again on a future trip to the area.
